Current problems of environmental monitoring require the development of compact precision polarization optical devices for rapid analysis of liquid media. The effectiveness of the solutions multiparameter problems to a large extent determines the sensitivity and accuracy of the devices, their versatility, and the ability to use a wide spectral range. Spectral measurements in aqueous medium give informative base to apply modern methods and algorithms for recognition and identification of environmental contaminants. A compact measuring information multi-channel spectroellipsometric system for monitoring the quality of aquatic environment, that is based on the combined use of spectroellipsometry and training, classification, and identification algorithms is described. This system is differed from modern analogues by the use of a new and very promising method of ellipsometric measurements, an original element base of polarization optics and a complex mathematical approach to estimating the quality of a water object subjected to anthropogenic influence. The spectroellipsometric system can be used in different fields where the water quality should be estimated or the presence of a particular set of chemical elements should be revealed.

Medication non-adherence is now a major issue in the pharmaceutical domain. Many electronic medication reminders have been invented to solve the issue. However, all of them have the problems of drug error and drug contamination. In this paper, we propose a medication reminder that dispenses a unit-dose packet rather than pills in plastic compartments. Through exploring functions of current electronic reminders and considering potential of unit dose packing service in homecare industry, the functions of a unit-dosing dispensing reminder are figured out. It is then designed and implemented. Our experience shows that unit-dose packing service simplifies medication process and enhances medication safety. Designers of medication device should consider the service from third part to simplify their design and provide a patient-centered product.
