In parallel database system, a good data placement could improve execution efficiency of multi-join queries greatly. The bandwidth of network communication is always the bottleneck of parallel database system based on PC clusters. Data communication among nodes would bring more time cost when executing join operations. This paper proposes selection of nodes algorithm, which takes the data redistribution into consideration and reduces additional communication cost. Furthermore, it takes into account intra-operator parallelism, independent inter-operator parallelism and pipelined parallelism in order to develop parallelisms of PC clusters system. The result of experiment indicates the algorithm has good performance and contributes to promoting execution efficiency of parallel multi-join queries.

Aiming at manually carry through optimization of experiment way adopted for traditional PID controller parameter, an optimization method based on improved ant colony algorithm for PID parameters of BP neural network is presented. The improved ant colony algorithm and BP neural is organically combined by this method. Which not only overcomes effectively the shortcoming of BP algorithm on some degree such as low solving accuracy, slow search speed, easy convergence to minimum, but also has wide mapping ability of neural network. The results are shown by numerical simulation that the optimization strategy on PID parameters has stronger flexibility and adaptability, and are further verified feasibility and validity of purposed method.

The temperature, the smoke density and the density of CO are selected as the main parameters of road tunnel fire detection, analyzing the environment and the characteristics of road tunnel fire. Based on BP neural network, the mathematical model is set up. Studying the algorithm of BP neural network, the model can identify road tunnel fire. The simulation result of road tunnel fire shows that the correct recognition probability is high. The false-alarm probability can be decreased. The suitability of this system to environmental variation can be obviously improved. The study and application of this method has a great theoretical and practical value for early prediction of road tunnel fires.

Aiming at the complex background of coronary angiograms, weak contrast between the coronary arteries and the background, a new segmentation method based on transition region extraction is proposed. The paper analyzes the characteristic of coronary angiograms, and then 6 different Gaussian matched templates are used to enhance the coronary angiograms. Finally, the coronary arteries are obtained with local complexity method based on transition region extraction. The experiments indicate that the proposed method outperforms the segmentation method based on top-hat about the small vessels extraction, connectivity and effectiveness. The method is indeed valuable for diagnosis and the quantitative analysis of coronary arteries.

A novel algorithm of infrared image enhancement based on fuzzy sets theory is proposed in this paper. First, Pal and King's algorithm was analyzed and its drawbacks were summarized. Then, the local fuzzy entropy of image was calculated for determining the threshold. On this basis, the new membership function of fuzzy was defined and infrared image was enhanced effectively by fuzzy enhancement transformation, in which the disadvantages of Pal and King's traditional fuzzy enhancement method were avoided. The experimental results indicated this fuzzy enhancement algorithm can enhance the contrast of infrared image noticeably and the details of infrared image are reserved better.

This paper describes the system structure about the manufacturing process of metallurgy, establishes the system's System Dynamics (SD) model according to system's circulation feedback relations. Based on the modeling, the system simulation on the different production pattern was carried on, and the change situation of the entire material flow and energy flow was demonstrated. The relation of the entire material flow and energy flow under the different production pattern was discussed, and the results expose the cause on the change of energy flow. Some beneficial advices for the decision-makers were given.

Web advertising has become a major industry and a large part of this market consists of contextual ads. Although it has made a great impact on earnings of many publishers' websites, these advertisements tend to disturb the internet surfing of normal users and to consume a lot of valuable bandwidth. Moreover, they always bring extra burden in indexing to commercial search engines as they mix up with the main content of the hosting web pages. Therefore, it is necessary to automatically detect those contextual ads on the web. In this paper, a classification based approach is proposed for contextual ads detection. Those features include text, link, layout and style in hosting web pages. Furthermore, neural network is used to identify the parameters that contribute the most in detecting contextual ads from non-contextual ads. Promising experimental results are obtained on ATOM textual snippets collected from 219 web sites.

The purpose of this research is to create a technology-integrated environment where learners can be immersed in the authentic environment to learn Taiwan local history and geography using mobile learning system. Learners conduct investigations with the guidance of the PDA in the Q&A style. The system was tested on students from college to graduate level in the University of Tainan. The experiment was taken place in three places including Catholic Church of Wanchin, Gate of Donglong Temple in Tungkang, and Hsiao Familys Old House in Chia Dong. The results of preand post-test have shown positive learning effect on students' understanding to the history and geography. The usability test of the system has found positive reactions to the mobile learning system.

Particle swarm optimization (PSO) often traps in the local optimal solutions. In this paper, an opposition-based disturbance procedure was introduced into a basic PSO, which was abbreviated as PSOOD. For this proposed algorithm, opposition-based disturbance was implemented according to the probability when the personal best position was updated for each particle. Such procedure not only avoids the missing of cognition component in the velocity update equation, but also increases the population diversity. Numerical tests on three benchmark functions were conducted to compare the algorithm performances. The results show that PSOOD is able to escape from the local optimal solutions efficiently when solving complex optimization problems, which enhances the global search ability obviously while guaranteeing the convergence.

The characteristic of deep space communication is that its communication distance is long while the transmission loss is proportional to the square of the distance. In order to overcome the huge transmission loss and ensure reliable communication under a limited transmission power, we must use communication which can work at low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and which can also take full use of bandwidth in order to improve the performance of deep space communication. Because Parallel Combinatory Spread Spectrum Communication System (PC/SS) can work at low SNR, with the anti-jamming, higher bandwidth utilization and higher information transmission capabilities, PC/SS is a good choice. This paper studies the applications of PC/SS in deep space communication. First, this paper introduces the theory of PC/SS and its baseband model, then gives key algorithm of PC/SS baseband spread spectrum and despreading spectrum. Furthermore, through example of algorithm, this paper proves the system no error. And this paper also shows hardware block diagram of the system.
