A logistics center, or hub, comprises a range of organized logistics services and infrastructure related to various modes of transportation. It is established and operated in an area where activities facilitating intermodal transport and storage services are permitted. A key component of such a center is its connection to or inclusion of a railway station, port, or airport. Alternatively, it can be described as a geographical zone where companies engaged in the transport, storage, management, and distribution of goods are situated, providing logistics services that involve interconnecting and transitioning between different modes of transport, assembling, distributing, and consolidating loads, as well as packaging, unpacking, and transferring goods. Additionally, these centers offer value-added services aimed at streamlining load flow, fostering the adoption of information and communication technologies, and implementing telematics systems. The establishment and operation of a logistics center help reduce the cost of transporting goods by shifting the transport flow from road to rail, thus ensuring more environmental, economic, and safety benefits. Our research seeks to examine the organizational and legal dimensions of logistics centers with the objective of fostering sustainable economic development through public and private partnerships. Employing contemporary legal science and advanced research methodologies, we aim to refine the Greek legislative framework governing the provision of transport and logistics services. Our investigation encompassed a thorough review and analysis of current Greek legislation, scrutinizing its implementation by economic entities (both public and private). Through a comprehensive examination of Greek legislation and a doctrinal exploration of logistics services, we undertook a theoretical and practical investigation into existing legal regulations within this domain. The research is dedicated to the current conditions of globalization and technological progress in the development of logistics activities of corporate enterprises, which is becoming increasingly important. The main purpose of the research paper is to determine areas of integration development of logistics based on the introduction of intelligent systems and management technologies. It should be noted that the use of modern logistics management to manage logistics processes can save logistics costs equivalent to 1% and increase sales by 10%. logistics is one of the most dynamic and significant sectors in the EU economy, accounting for approximately 10% of GDP. The article analyzes current trends in logistics, in particular, artificial intelligence and process automation, as well as their impact on the efficiency of corporate enterprises. It is determined that advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, the Internet of Things (IoT) and big data, can reduce logistics costs by up to 30%, while AI can increase the efficiency of logistics processes by up to 50%. The article examines the increase in the competitiveness of corporate enterprises by optimizing logistics processes, reducing costs, improving the quality of customer service and making efficient managerial decisions. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

The article is devoted to smart logistics in the organization of air transportation of cargo and passengers in modern economic, political, and social development conditions under the influence of the digital economy and globalization processes. The theoretical provisions regarding the formation of smart logistics, which includes the latest technological and innovative processes and replaces traditional methods of managing chain freight transportation with more efficient, more complex network systems connected to the global logistics system, are considered. The main stages of the development and implementation of smart logistics in the organization of air transportation are highlighted, including: 1) the initial stage;2) analytical stage;3) intellectual stage. It was found that during the period of 2020–2021, the transportation of passengers increased, and cargo decreased. It has been proven that the state faces an acute problem of resuming the operation of airports and providing them with qualified staff to ensure flight safety. It was found that the closed airspace led to the loss of qualified personnel, the suspension of the development of logistics services, and the introduction of advanced smart logistics technologies. The advantages of automated processes are revealed: reduction of the cost of specific operations;exclusion of errors by the employee;reduction of delivery time;increase in orders;maximum accuracy;preventing the influence of external factors;information support. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Real-time monitoring of ship trajectories is significant for ensuring transportation safety and optimizing efficiency in waterway transport. With the application of deep learning, object detection and tracking methods have rapidly advanced. Inspired by the "Tracking-by-Detection" framework, this paper proposes a ship target identification and tracking method based on maritime radar. Firstly, the YOLOv8 algorithm is used to detect ship targets in radar images. Then, using the motion information of ships, the OC-SORT method is applied to associate detection results across frames, ultimately forming ship trajectories. Validation shows that the proposed method achieves a map value of 0.93 for object detection and a HOTA value of 75.62 percent for object tracking, with an overall operation speed of 25 FPS. Comparisons with different methods indicate that the proposed method exhibits good superiority and adaptability in the task of maritime radar target tracking and has potential for real-time applications. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. Conventional ground-based transport systems often experience delays due to congested traffic. This is unacceptable in the case of transporting organs, blood, medicines and emergency supplies, when time is critical. Urban Air Mobility (UAM) offers a solution to overcome transportation inefficiencies. In fact, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) can quickly reach remote locations providing critical care in a timely manner. However, ensuring efficiency, safety and compliance with regulations is essential. This paper presents the mission-oriented design approach of a UAS, focusing on two subsystems, namely the Unmanned Aircraft (UA) and the Functional Container (FC). The design of the UA involves choices for configuring its layout. The FC design focuses on the preservation of the transported material. Lightweight and reliable dedicated solutions are designed for FC leveraging Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology. The design is missionoriented, but allows systems to be reconfigured for additional missions. The trials will validate the solution for the possible implementation of efficient, safe and consistently effective medical delivery missions in urban areas.

international freight transport is a growing market and a crucial component of the global economy, enabling the seamless flow of goods across regions and supporting global trade. However, the industry faces significant challenges, particularly in road transport orchestration, due to the increasing complexity of operations and the demand for real-time decision-making. This study sketched the algorithmic and programming framework to address these challenges by presenting an optimized database architecture designed to improve decision support systems for freight transport. The proposed system architecture may leverage the flexibility and scalability of NoSQL databases to manage large, semi-structured datasets in the future, while REST APIs enable seamless integration and real-time data manipulation. To enhance usability and transparency, the system incorporates advanced data visualization tools, allowing stakeholders to derive actionable insights and improve operational efficiency. By focusing on areas such as real-time tracking, sustainability, and process optimization, this work not only addresses current operational needs but also provides a robust foundation for future developments, including advanced analytics and mobile application integration. This contribution supports the logistics industry's shift toward more adaptive, efficient, and sustainable transport solutions.
