Bone tissue is constantly changed adapting to its mechanical environment and capable of repairing itself. Ultrasound has recently been used as a diagnostic technique to assess bone conditions. To optimize the experimental model as best as possible computational simulation techniques have been focused on clinical applications in bone. This study aims to analyze by finite element method the propagation of ultrasound waves along the cortical bone. The wave propagation phenomenon is well studied and described by the Helmholtz equation. The first part of the work analytically solves the Helmholtz equation, and later the COMSOL Multiphysics software is used. It was established a cylindrical geometry as the bone sample. The software analyzes with "Pressure Acoustic, Frequency Domain" module. An extremely fine mesh is used for the solution in order not to lose information. According to the analytical solution, the results show the behavior of the acoustic pressure waves throughout the samples. In addition, attenuation coefficients are calculated for biological materials such as bone and muscle. Simulation methods allow to analyze adjustable parameters in the development of new devices. Thus, optimizing resources and allowing the researcher to better understanding the problem to be solved.

Cloud computing is a new paradigm that allows users to access computing resources in a dynamic, flexible and scalable manner. It has drawn the interest of multiple users, and in a short period of time it has experienced a notorious hype. However, its numerous strengths are mitigated by the lack of standardization which the technology suffers from. Different cloud vendors provide and manage similar resources in a different manner, thereby coupling the application to its targeted cloud. Companies that consume cloud services are locked-in to a single cloud vendor due to the high costs of migrating software in the cloud, preventing them from changing their cloud provider or having multiple providers. In this paper we explore a solution to the cloud vendor lock-in problem based on the use of model-driven engineering and software adaptation techniques. The proposed solution is both cloud vendor and user friendly as it allows the former to freely define their own cloud policies, whilst users continue to be free to choose a cloud provider, even after the application has been developed.

LORD WILLIAM KELVIN (1824 - 1907). During the last decade, the quantification of softwareengineering process has got a pace due to availability of a huge amount of software repositories. These repositories include source code, bug, communication among developers/users, changes in code, etc. Researchers are trying to find out useful information from these repositories for improving the quality of software. The absence of bugs in the software is a major factor that decides the quality of software. In the available literature, researchers have proposed and implemented a plethora of bug prediction approaches varying in terms of accuracy, complexity and input data. The code change metric based bug prediction is proven to be very useful. In the literature, decay functions have been proposed that decay the complexity of code changes over a period of time in either exponential or linear fashion but they do not fit in open source software development paradigm because in open source software development paradigm, the development team is geographical dispersed and there is an irregular fluctuation in the code changes and bug detection/fixing process. The complexity of code changes reduces over a period of time that may be less than exponential or more than linear. This paper presents the method that quantifies the code change metric and also proposed decay functions that capture the variability in the decay curves represented the complexity of code changes. Industrial boilers in service at present have several severe problems such as small capacity, low efficiency, high energy consumption and causing severe pollution on environment. In recent years, our country in the big scope, long time serious fog weather, with coal-fired industrial boilers is closely related to the regional characteristics of high strength and low emissions [1]. The energy-efficient and emission-reducing of industry boiler is of great significance to improve China's energy usage efficiency and environmental protection. Difference in thermal equilibrium theory is widely used in boiler design, exergy analysis method is established on the basis of the first law and second law of thermodynamics, by studying the cycle of the effect of energy conversion and utilization, to analyze its influencing factors, to reveal the exergy loss of location, distribution and size, find out the weak links, and a method of mining system of the boiler energy saving potential. Exergy analysis method is used for layer combustion boiler efficiency and pollutant emission characteristics analysis and evaluation, and can more objectively and accurately the energy conserving potential of the mining system of the boiler, find out the weak link of energy consumption, and improve equipment performance to improve the industrial boiler environmental friendliness.
