The "Internet of Things" (IoT) represents an embodiment of the continuous convergence between the physical facet of human activities and its reflection on the information world. In the context of "Industrial Internet", where the operation of complex physical machinery is integrated with networked sensors and software applications, IoT is understood as a technological enabler of significant advances in the efficiency of industrial processes. In this paper, we elaborate on the main challenges brought on by the Industrial Internet and identify its key enabling technologies relevant to the Fog computing paradigm. Further on, we propose the introduction of an Adaptive Operations Platform (AOP) to provide end-to-end manageability of the enabling Fog computing infrastructure according to the operational requirements of industrial process. We present our prototype setup for AOP and elaborate on its performance evaluation in a typical industrial scenario.

Large dynamic wavelength-division multiplexed (WDM) networks based on the distributed control mechanism are susceptible to routing information inaccuracies. Routing decisions made under these inaccuracies yield a high blocking probability of lightpath requests, thereby degrading the overall network performance. Factors such as non-negligible propagation delays, infrequent network state updates, and topology aggregation contribute to routing information inaccuracies. The focal point of this paper is on the routing inaccuracy caused by the frequency of link-state advertisements. This paper reviews some of the existing proposed solutions to address the routing inaccuracy problem, and proposes SDN as a promising candidate that can potentially minimise routing information inaccuracy, to improve blocking performance.

This paper deals with the recent advances in grid connected photovoltaic (PV) system. It proposes the study of PV system with the grid integration. DC-DC boost converter is used to step-up the PV array voltage. Boost converter with Perturb and observe technique based maximum power point tracking is implemented. Advanced inverter control strategies with grid connected PV system is discussed. Inverter convert dc to ac to control the inverter with respect to grid, a three-phase photovoltaic system with synchronous reference frame is used to lock the grid phase & frequency, three phase PLL is used at the output of inverter. Inverter control maintain constant voltage at output side of inverter and provide synchronization output with the grid. A LC filter is used to reduced high frequency from output side of the inverter and the provide the galvanic isolation between the inverter output and grid with the help of the transformer system providing the quality power. Tactical networks are generally simple ad-hoc networks in design, however, this simple design often gets complicated, when heterogeneous wireless technologies have to work together to enable seamless multi-hop communications across multiple sessions. In recent years, there has been some significant advances in computational, radio, localization, and networking te, and session's rate i.e., aggregate capacity averaged over a 4-time-slot frame)chnologies, which motivate a clean slate design of the control plane for multi-hop tactical wireless networks. In this paper, we develop a global network optimization framework, which characterizes the control plane for multi-hop wireless tactical networks. This framework abstracts the underlying complexity of tactical wireless networks and orchestrates the the control plane functions. Specifically, we develop a cross-layer optimization framework, which characterizes the interaction between the physical, link, and network layers. By applying the framework to a throughput maximization problem, we show how the proposed framework can be utilized to solve a broad range of wireless multi-hop tactical networking problems.

Software Defined networking (SDN) provides opportunities for dynamic and flexible traffic engineering. This paper discusses how UbuntuNet Alliance National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) can improve bandwidth utilization and reduce inter-NREN latencies through implementation of SDN-based traffic engineering and applying network metrics in selection of inter-NREN paths. Additionally, the paper looks at the utility of applying Reinforcement Learning to path selection, using network data obtained through an SDN controller. Results from simulations using the UbuntuNet topology show an increase in total throughputs when multipath is employed. Furthermore, simulation results show that where latency is the key metric for computing rewards, lower latencies are achieved.
