In this paper, we propose an OSGi-based service aware home networking system (SAHN), which coordinates the integrated heterogeneity of Internet interfaces and provides the service information exchange between mobile appliances of home networking and Internet service providers. The SAHN system further assists users to discover the home networking services via the Internet and to execute the chosen service by the proposed S-PnP mechanism. The S-PnP mechanism lets users use services from the Internet immediately. S-PnP mechanism can shorten the service activation time by processing the automatic service plug-and-play procedure and accomplishes services discovery mechanism efficiently with flexibility and extensibility in the universal operation environment.

This paper is based on morphological analyzer using machine learning approach for complex agglutinative natural languages. Morphological analysis is concerned with retrieving the structure, the syntactic and morphological properties or the meaning of a morphologically complex word. The morphology structure of agglutinative language is unique and capturing its complexity in a machine analyzable and generatable format is a challenging job. Generally rule based approaches are used for building morphological analyzer system. In rule based approaches what works in the forward direction may not work in the backward direction. This new and state of the art machine learning approach based on sequence labeling and training by kernel methods captures the non-linear relationships in the different aspect of morphological features of natural languages in a better and simpler way. The overall accuracy obtained for the morphologically rich agglutinative language (Tamil) was really encouraging.

In this paper, we mention our work on incorporating rule based reordering and morphological information for English to Malayalam statistical machine translation. The main ideas which have proven very effective are (i) reordering the English source sentence according to Malayalam syntax, and (ii) using the root suffix separation on both English and Malayalam words. The first one is done by applying simple modified transformation rules on the English parse tree, which is given by the Stanford Dependency Parser. The second one is developed by using a morph analyzer. This approach achieves good performance and better results over the phrase-based system. Our approach avoids the use of parsing for the target language (Malayalam), making it suitable for statistical machine translation from English to Malayalam, since parsing tools for Malayalam are currently not available.

A scheme is promoted which builds a water-saving irrigation system based on wireless sensor network and fuzzy control technology, we design a wireless sensor network, which consists of sensor node cluster, coordinator node and irrigation controller nodes. Here sensor node cluster is responsible for gathering information such as soil moisture and regularly send it to the coordinator node. Fuzzy controller embedded in the coordinator node takes soil moisture error and error change rate as its input and obtained water demand amount of crops under certain soil moisture through fuzzy inference and fuzzy judge and output it to irrigation controller node. Irrigation controller node controls the implementation of automatic watering. In this article, we describe the implementation scheme of sensor network node and fuzzy controller in detail and design communication protocol for sensor nodes. The experimental results show that the system can quickly and accurately calculate water demand amount of crops, which can provide a scientific basis for water-saving irrigation. In this way, we have made an exploratory study in applying wireless sensor networks and fuzzy control technology to fine agriculture project.

In China, the mobile phone TV national standard should be approved by both broadcasting & TV sector and telecom sector. The game theory is used here to see whether they should cooperate with each other when building the national standard. Through building a model to compare the profit of cooperation with non-cooperation, it proves that the cooperation between them is better than non-cooperation.

This paper proposes a wavelet based adaptive tracking controller for uncertain nonlinear systems. The controller is designed to provide the desired performance in the presence of actuator constraints. Proposed controller comprises of wavelet based tracking controller and a robust controller. Wavelet tracking controller is the principal controller while robust controller is designed to achieve the desired performance by attenuating the effect of approximation error caused by wavelet identifier. Wavelet networks, which are having superior learning capability in comparison to conventional neural network, are used for the approximation of unknown system dynamics. Also the adaptation laws are derived in the sense of Lyapunov function assuring the stability of the system. To deal with the actuator constraints, the system is augmented with additional wavelet network to work as a saturation compensator so as to recover the unconstrained response rapidly while preserving the system stability.

Consistent and flexible policy and charging control is one key factor for effective access control and efficient resource management in IP-based multimedia communication networks. One approach to deal with this challenge is to put more decision logic into the so-called mediation layer which is residing between the operatorspsila core network and the charging system. This article describes our research study to extend the mediation layer with more capabilities for online charging control. The presented prototype implements and extends parts of the 3GPP Policy and Charging control Architecture using the open source JAIN SLEE framework Mobicents.

In this paper, we have studied high-speed network congestion control problem from two levels of end system and communication subnet. First of all, a high-speed network congestion control model is presented based on HSTCP algorithm. From the aspect of control theory, we research AQM algorithm in communication subnet of high-speed network and give a design method of AQM controller based on genetic neural network and intelligent PID. In the system, we add two key parts into traditional PID controller. The first part is application of neural network, which is responsible for adjusting PID controller parameters online. The second part takes use of global convergence in genetic algorithm and sets up genetic neural network model to optimize weight coefficients and for neural network. In this paper, we integrate the advantages of genetic algorithm, neural network and PID control model, by which a high-speed network congestion control model is set up based on genetic neural network and PID, by which, a new AQM algorithm is designed for high-speed network based on HSTCP/AQM model that is called IP AQM. In this way, we have opened a new approach for foundation of high-speed network congestion control model and research of AQM algorithm.

Among variant kinds of spectrum sensing strategies in cognitive radio (CR) broadly studied before, cooperative sensing is the most popular one to detect the primary user accurately. This paper proposes a new cooperative spectrum sensing algorithm in which double threshold energy detection will be employed at local decision and different fusion rules will be used at the fusion center. Theoretic analysis shows that the proposed cooperative sensing scheme has a good performance in either minimizing the total error probability or detection accuracy.

Current scenario in computer vision demands an efficient and robust technique for facial expression recognition. There is also a need for a generalized technique that can even be used for content based image retrieval and analysis. This paper introduces a novel methodology of facial expression recognition using Support Vector Machines. An efficient model is trained and developed using the necessary features extracted by employing 2D Gabor filters. Practically, six different methods for handling the feature vectors are discussed and extensively analyzed in this paper. The developed model is tested and cross validated and the detailed results are presented. It is observed that the proposed method offers a consistent and good accuracy (83.3%) for all the six basic expressions considered. In addition, the implementation complexity is reduced by minimizing the number of support vectors, unlike the traditional counterparts. The proposed method shall definitely turn out to be an effective alternative for the existing methods.
