Enterprise information infrastructures are generally characterized by a multitude of information systems which support decision makers in fulfilling their duties. The object of information security management is the protection of these systems, whereas security information and event management (SIEM) addresses those information management tasks which focus on the short term handling of events, as well as on the long term improvement of the entire information security architectures. This is carried out based on those data which can be logged and collected within the enterprise information security infrastructure. An especially interesting type of log data is data created by anti-malware software. This paper demonstrates in the context of a project case study that data mining (DM) is a well suited approach to detect hidden patterns in malware data and thus to support STEM.

The extraction of knowledge and useful information from large amounts of data stored in databases is known as data mining. Given the growing use of fuzzy object-oriented database systems in complex and uncertain database applications, studying data mining techniques for fuzzy object-oriented databases is essential. Users may be able to better comprehend, organize, and utilize the data in these databases as a result. Fuzzy object-oriented databases are used to implement data mining techniques in order to extract the useful latent regularities from the enormous, complicated, and uncertain database. In this study, we develop a knowledge-based system for a fuzzy object-oriented database using a variety of data mining methods. In addition, the application of this learned information may significantly improve the adaptability and strength of database browsing, database organization, and data and knowledge querying in fuzzy object-oriented databases. © Grenze Scientific Society, 2023.

With advances in technology, high volumes of valuable data of different veracity can be generated at a high velocity in wide varieties of data sources in various real-life applications. Examples of these big data include social media data. As a popular data mining tasks, frequent pattern mining discovers implicit, previously unknown and potentially useful knowledge in the form of sets of frequently co-occurring items or events. Many existing data mining algorithms return to users with long textual lists of frequent patterns, which may not be easily comprehensible. Given a picture is worth a thousand words, having a visual means for humans to interact with computers would be beneficial. In this paper, we present a framework for data and visual analytics for emerging databases. In particular, our data and visual analytic framework focuses on mining and analyzing social media data, as well as visualizing the mined ` following' patterns that reveal those groups of frequently followed social entities in a social network.

Incomplete data are questions without answers or variables without observations. Even a small percentage of missing data can cause serious problems with the analysis leading to draw wrong conclusions and imperfect knowledge. There are many techniques to overcome the imperfect knowledge and manage data with incomplete items, but no one is absolutely better than the others. To handle such problems, researchers are trying to solve it in different directions and then proposed to handle the information system. The attribute values are important for information processing. In the field of databases, various efforts have been made for the improvement and enhance of database query process to handle the data. The different researchers have tried and are trying to handle the imprecise and/or uncertainty in databases. The methodology followed by different approaches like: Fuzzy sets, Rough sets, Boolean Logic, Possibility Theory, Statistically Similarity etc.

The design of a conceptual database schema is a critical task. The more methods a conceptual database designer has in order to communicate with the end user, the better it is for the quality of the conceptual schema. Conceptual modeling for database design needs simple and easy to use techniques for gathering and presenting information. Furthermore these approaches must be a means for communication between different kinds of stakeholders. In this paper a combination of such techniques are presented. It will be proposed how a glossary based representation, a graphical representation as well as a verbalization of concepts can be used together for communication with the end user.

With advances in computer and information technology, high volumes of a wide variety of valuable data are easily collected and generated in the current era of big data from a broad range of data sources of different veracities at a high velocity. As such, many traditional data management and analytic approaches may not be suitable for handling the big data due to their well-known 5V's characteristics. Over the past few years, several systems and applications have developed to use cloud, grid and service computing to manage and analyze big data so as to support data science (e.g., knowledge discovery and data mining). In this paper, we present a big data science solution for social computing and social network analytics so as to provide services and support to big data mining of interesting patterns from big social networks that are stored in key-value databases.

In this paper, an enhanced combined demosaicking and watermarking (CDW) method is proposed. Such a combination leads to lower power and time consumption comparing with being performed separately. In the proposed method, bits are arranged in a special order employing a Sudoku pattern. Results indicate that this arrangement increases robustness against JPEG compression attack.
