This paper proposes a novel approach integrating RFID and multi-agent technology to monitor in-transit goods status and its environmental information. RFID technology provides real-time access to the togged goods in automatic fashion. Using multi-agent technology, collected raw data can be processed locally before they are sent out, which reduces the size and cost of data transfer. In addition, the filtered information is sent back to back-end enterprise application via short message system of mobile telecommunication platform, which is feasible even in outdoor communication environment. We finally implement a prototype system based on the proposed solution.

To ensure patient's privacy and protect data exchanged in Telecare Medicine information Systems (TMIS), several authenticated key agreement schemes were proposed. In this paper, we propose an elliptic curve instantiation of Abdalla and Pointcheval's Simple Password-Based Encrypted Key Exchange Protocol (SPEKE) including an additional key confirmation step. The proposal is based on short passwords without requiring a complex (PKI). So, it is more suitable to authenticate medical devices and secure medical data exchanged through (RFID) technology, or to ensure remote authenticated key exchanges between patients and servers in TMIS. In addition, we discuss the different security aspects of the proposed protocol, including resistance against side channel attacks in real-world implementations.

An overview of some recent advances in distributed information processing for control over wireless sensor networks is presented in this paper. Firstly, a taxonomy of fundamental control and communication schemes for these systems is introduced. Next, specific research issues are proposed and discussed with three prominent examples on distributed source coding with packet aggregation, distributed cooperative diversity and distributed cooperative localization. In regard to these examples, it is argued about some open research problems and suggestions for further investigations on joint control and communication design for distributed processing and control over wireless sensor networks.
