Fast and accurate cable fault detection is the key to reduce economic losses and improve electrical system reliability. Broadband impedance spectroscopy (BIS) is a new type of cable fault location technology, but the application of BIS technology in the actual field is still less. In particular, the grounding of cable shield in actual operation is lack of consideration is one of the reasons. In view of the grounding situation which widely occurs in the actual cable, this paper analyzes the influence of the cable shield grounding on the measuring circuit, and carries out the measurement experiments of different grounding conditions under the open and short circuit faults at the terminal of the cable. The results show that the grounding of the cable shield does not affect the accuracy of the BIS data. This simplifies the operation and reduces the risk of electric shock during the measurement, which has positive significance for the application of BIS technology in practice. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, a distributed coordinated control method of dual-arm reconfigurable manipulators based on adaptive dynamic programming is proposed. Through kinematic analysis, the dynamic models of the reconfigurable manipulators and the grasped object are established, respectively. According to the load distribution method, the motion induction force is effectively distributed on each arm. Then, the dynamic model of a single reconfigurable manipulator is obtained. The performance index function is defined to reflect the joint position tracking error and internal force tracking error. The neural network is utilized to approximate the performance index function to obtain the optimal control strategy through the Policy Iteration (PI) algorithm. Thus, a distributed optimal coordinated controller is acquired. The tracking error of the manipulator system is proved be ultimately uniformly bounded (UUB) through Lyapunov's stability. Finally, the effectiveness of the developed control method is verified by simulations. © 2023 IEEE.

In response to the significant rise of Home Health Care (HHC) due to technological advances, an expanding elderly demographic, and increased disease outbreaks—intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic—there is a pressing demand for better management of the resulting medical waste. This paper explores the development of a web-based decision support system designed to optimize medical waste collection in the HHC sector. The system is built using Flask for backend processes, with a user interface crafted from HTML and CSS, and employs JSON files for data management. It features dynamic routing enabled by two metaheuristic algorithms: the Strength Pareto Evolutionary Algorithm (SPEA-2) and the Non-Dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGA-II). The application supports real-time adjustments to vehicle routes and waste production sites, enhancing the efficiency of medical waste management by minimizing human intervention. The design allows for easy adaptation to different sectors and can be expanded to test various scenarios. © 2024 by SCITEPRESS – science and technology Publications, Lda.

The innovations made possible by the Internet of Things have been of enormous use to the healthcare sector. These developments have made it feasible for a multitude of applications to collect huge amounts of information from users for evaluation in the cloud. On the other hand, immediate medical care need very low latency as well as which is something that traditional cloud computing is not able to supply. Fog computing is a solution that has emerged as a result of this issue. It allows for the processing of data that is nearer to its origin, which in turn reduces latency and the amount of bandwidth that is used. In the paper, a novel system is proposed that takes use of fog clusters. Fog clusters are groupings of fog nodes that collaborate with one another to accelerate and distribute the processing of tasks. According to the findings, fog clusters significantly cut down on latency and energy usage, which demonstrates the usefulness of fog technology in Internet of Things (IoT) systems that have stringent latency requirements. This study was carried out with the assistance of a simulation of an individual with a COPD monitoring system. © 2024 IEEE.

The plane features of part drawings may have such indications as angularity tolerance and/or position tolerance and additional symbols. In this paper, twelve kinds of angularity tolerance drawing indications and twenty-eight kinds of position tolerance drawing indications were given, and the evaluation models of angularity error and position error were established. Based on the models above, the program for evaluating angularity errors and position errors of plane features was developed. The simulated profiles of plane features for two samples were taken as an example, and twelve cases of angularity errors and twenty-eight cases of position errors were evaluated and analyzed. The analysis of the evaluation results showed that the evaluation results of partial angularity errors and position errors are quite different under the same datum plane and the same measured object, and both datum plane and toleranced object have obvious influences on the evaluation results of angularity errors and position errors. This research may help designers understand the meanings of angularity tolerance zones, position tolerance zones and their additional symbols and indicate drawings reasonably. © 2023 IEEE.

Next-basket recommendation (NBR) aims to recommend a set of items to a consumer according to past shopping carts. NBR essientially a more general and complex form than sequential recommendation which recommends the next item according to the historical records. However, the majority of recent literature fails to simultaneously consider the two aspects: 1) complex order-invariant relation of multiple elements within a set;2) intangible order-variant user appetite in users' historical interactions. To overcome the barrier, we propose a novel Conv-based Temporal Sets Prediction model (dubbed ConvTSP). We contrive a Conv-based Relationship Learning module to capturing the cross-relation between items in each basket. Besides, we integrate sequential-level dynamic user appetite and individual-level static user appetite into a fused user appetite representation. Extensive experiments and ablation studies are done to show how effective ConvTSP is. © 2023 IEEE.

With the expanding of pipeline applications and development in related technologies, there is a growing requirement for inside anti-corrosion of pipelines. Currently, there is relatively limited application of robots for large-diameter pipeline inside anti-corrosion, and the design of such robots often facing coupling issues between the locomotion capability and operation requirements. In this study, an axiomatic design method is employed to analyze the design of a pipeline inside anti-corrosion robot, and a decoupling method is proposed to separate the locomotion and the anti-corrosion mechanism. The robot design is implemented with the axiomatic method. Preliminary analysis using dynamic simulation demonstrates that the robot equipped with independently adjustable steering functions works more stably and effectively during anti-corrosion operations pipelines inside. © 2024 IEEE.

Deepfake videos created using advanced artificial intelligence techniques, pose a significant threat to digital media credibility. This project introduces a holistic strategy for identifying these videos, incorporating face recognition, feature extraction, and an innovative deep-learning model. The methodology involves pre-processing video data, extracting facial features using the face recognition library, and training a neural network model on processed face-only videos. The project filters videos based on frame count, extracts face, and creates a curated dataset for the detection model. Face-only videos are loaded and pre-processed to train a custom neural network model, which combines a pre-trained ResNext CNN with an LSTM layer for temporal feature extraction. The model is trained using Adam optimization with a cross-entropy loss function, and after completion, it has an accuracy of 95% and is capable of differentiate between fake and real videos using a confidence score. © 2024 IEEE.

The study explores the intersection of robotics and neuro-cognitive rehabilitation to offer personalized assistance for individuals with neurological disorders, emphasizing autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The proposed methodology integrates Genetic Algorithms (GAs) to optimize the performance of robotic interventions. The data collection phase involves compiling a comprehensive image dataset capturing facial expressions, gestures, and relevant visual cues associated with ASD. Leveraging robotic platforms designed for therapeutic interventions, feature extraction techniques identify intricate patterns within the data. Advanced algorithms, including GAs, classify the dataset into positive (ASD) and negative (non-ASD) categories. The framework introduces a Diagnosis Matrix for enhanced diagnostic precision, correlating observed robotic interactions with clinical assessments. An Ontology Knowledge base adapts responses based on evolving patient needs. The proposed method surpasses all others, achieving an accuracy of 95.08% and demonstrating superior precision, recall, and F1-score metrics. This indicates the efficacy of the proposed approach in achieving a well-balanced performance with high accuracy and robustness in correctly identifying positive instances. The results underscore the potential of the proposed method for classification tasks, showcasing its superiority in comparison to traditional SVM, CNN, and even a well-established deep learning architecture like VGG-16. The Receiver Operating Characteristic curve validates the model's discriminatory power. © 2024 IEEE.

In the study, three leading reinforcement learning algorithms Deep Q-Network (DQN), Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) and Asynchronous Advantage Actor - Critic (A3Cc are applied in a number of real-world robotics tasks. The focus of our analysis is on performance indicators, computational efficiencies across multiple environments as well with respect to customer satisfaction rating. The DQN demonstrated good performance, with the success rate of up to 85% in object manipulation tasks and confirmed its reliability under controlled lab conditions where it made only a 5 percent error. PPO excelled in autonomous navigation (82%) and was the most energy-efficient option, requiring just 10 hours for training and using only twelve KWH of power. Compared with A3C, the method performed to a higher level of adaptability and robustness, especially in object manipulation (90% success rate) and dynamic environments (10% error rates applicable for outdoor variable weather conditions). But A3C was also the most automatable, which required 15 hours to train and consumed an astonishing amount of electricity - 18 kWh. Regarding customer satisfaction, PPO performs the best in end-user rating on user interface;A3C shows a preference with engineers due to its advanced features and flexibility. The focus of this study is significant trade-offs between performance, efficiency and user preference in real robotics applications that advocate for individual tailoring selections as well as deployments based on task specifics nature. © 2024 IEEE.
