This paper develops an approach for proactive, predictive and complex security analysis of critical infrastructure facilities, that are utilizing Internet of Things technologies (IoT-based CIFs). The study employs extrapolation algorithms and granular computing, which consider the noise present in initial data. This allows even in the uncertainties of data observation and measurement, to determine and predict important aspects of functioning of IoT-based CIFs. We believe that consideration of such knowledge can significantly contribute to the complex security of such systems. The main features of this approach are analyzed. The proposed approach enables proactive security assessment, determining acceptable thresholds for deviations from security requirements. Furthermore, by formalizing these metrics as deviations from security requirements, this approach enables the unification of proactive assessment algorithms. In turn, it opens a possibility for unifying monitoring, protection, and resource management algorithms of IoT-based CIFs.

To describe the epidemic outbreak, we divide the entire population into five groups: susceptible to the virus (S), active infected (I), immune after vaccination or disease (R), vaccinated but not yet immune (V), and deceased (D), whose dynamics is described by SIR-type models and relies on the mass balance law. The population is considered rational and agents tend to choose isolation and vaccination strategies based on their own benefit, leading to an optimal control model. Such dynamic are described by mean field game (MFG) approach. A number of epidemiological scenarios have been constructed and computational results were compared with statistical data in Krasnoyarsk region for one month in 2022 to estimate the epidemiological situation in the region under consideration. MFG approach allows to take into account the heterogeneity of the population, which leads to the fact that the epidemiological MFG models are a kind of layer between simple differential SIR models and computationally complex agent based models.

Major accidents hazards not only may lead to losses of life and properties, but also may cause irrecoverable damages to the environment. HAZard and OPerability (HAZOP) study is one of the most widely used and accepted techniques to assess the risk of process upset and search for the required safeguards. However, the method is a qualitative approach subjective to engineering judgement of the HAZOP team. In this paper integration of mathematical modeling with the HAZOP study, called quantitative dynamic HAZOP study, is investigated for a complex polystyrene polymerization process to provide quantitative analysis. This paper presents the role of quantitative dynamic HAZOP and its capabilities. It then identifies the shortcomings of this integration which needs to be addressed in order to achieve the full potential of this approach (i.e. specially for complex systems). Finally, some suggestions are provided to meet these challenges.

The Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm is a simple and efficient optimization method with few control parameters and robust global search capabilities. It performs well in solving complex optimization problems but has weak local search abilities and a tendency to fall into local optima. To address these issues, we propose an improved Artificial Bee Colony algorithm based on k-means clustering (IKABC). The IKABC algorithm enhances local search and convergence abilities by utilizing k-means clustering to divide the population and optimize the search process. Additionally, a search strategy that balances global optimization and local search is introduced, alongside an improved roulette wheel selection strategy, to make nectar source searches more directional and to balance the algorithm's exploration and exploitation capabilities. Finally, the IKABC algorithm is compared through simulations with other enhanced ABC algorithms using 12 benchmark test functions, demonstrating its superior performance in solving complex optimization problems.

This paper compares different stub shapes for minimizing far-end crosstalk. COMSOL Multiphysics software was used as the modeling environment. Frequency-domain modeling revealed that the use of rectangular stubs significantly shifts the $\vert S_{41}\vert$ (dB) values at the -20 dB level toward higher frequencies (from 1 GHz to 6 GHz). For time-domain analysis, the TALGAT quasi-static modeling system was used. It was found that the use of rectangular stubs reduces far-end crosstalk from 35 to 11 mV. Circular stubs reduce the amplitude of far-end crosstalk from 35 to 12 mV. The use of triangular stubs slightly improves transmission line characteristics in the time domain, namely, reducing far-end crosstalk from 35 to 20 mV. N-norms were used to evaluate the crosstalk in the time domain. It was found that the structure with a rectangular stub has the smallest $N_modeling$ value, equal to 11 mV. It was revealed that the structure with a rectangular stub has the smallest $N_modeling, N_modeling$ , and $N_modeling$ values, which are 1.688.10 -8 , 2.526.10 -12 , and 1.21.10 7 , respectively. The $N_modeling$ value may be due to the presence of reflections and crosstalk in the time response at port 4.

This paper addresses the tracking control problem of congestion in TCP networks. Firstly, the system modeling of TCP is provided, followed by the presentation of state variables in the presence of both matched and mismatched perturbations. The system is affected by complex matched and mismatched uncertainties, which degrade tracking performance and increase the system’s difficulty in control. To address this challenge, the paper explores nonsingular terminal sliding mode control, and the finite-time stability of the closed-loop system is demonstrated. Additionally, based on the proposed sliding variable, the queue states converge to fixed-time, and this estimation is dependent solely on the control parameters, not on initial queue conditions. To mitigate the chattering problem, an upper bound of disturbances is estimated through adaptive control laws. The Lyapunov analysis is employed to validate all theoretical results. Finally, numerical simulations are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

An adaptive finite-time robust sliding mode controller is presented in this work to regulate the trajectories of an upper limb exoskeleton rehabilitation robot. The goal is to build a controller that can handle constraints that alter the achievement of the rehabilitation process using the robot, such as modeling errors, uncertainties, and external disturbances. The suggested technique maintains the fundamental robustness of sliding mode control while also allowing for global finite-time convergence of the system's states. Furthermore, the presented controller is homogeneous and uses adaptive gains to eliminate requirements of preliminary knowledge on uncertainties and external disturbances bounds. The Lyapunov theory is used to determine stability. Simulations of passive trajectory tracking exercises are illustrated to check the efficacy of the developed control approach. © 2022 IEEE.

The article discusses issues of adaptive control of the drives of a robot-machine tool. A mathematical (digital) model has been developed, enabling the study of the output link error of the robot-machine tool. The synthesis of an adaptive control system is based on an analysis of the principles of constructing adaptive control algorithms for CNC metal cutting machines. The system structure is implemented on a non-search adaptive algorithm for controlling the cutting speed, taking into account the vibration level of the spindle assembly of the robot machine. The operation of the system is shown on a model of robot-machine drives, which takes into account the vibration processes occurring in it. Adaptive control of the robot-machine tool has been proposed, taking into account the specifics of the machining process for complex-profile workpieces.

Maintaining balance by a person, despite the fact that it seems to be something completely natural, is a very complex process. It begins with a deep feeling, i.e. proprioception, resulting from the operation of the nervous system, which registers even slight movements of the body from an upright standing position and reacts to these deviations by activating appropriate strategies to regain balance. It is realized by sequential activation of antagonistic muscles, which, acting alternately, are responsible for correcting the posture. In such a case, when one of the muscles is responsible for initiating the movement, the other, acting in the opposite way, tries to slow down the movement. With appropriate simplifications, such a system can be presented as a mechanical system in the form of an inverted pendulum with an appropriate number of degrees of freedom. The antagonistic work of muscles in mathematical models of such systems is taken into account by using elastic and damping elements. It should be remembered, however, that with the appearance of disease processes or processes related to the aging of the human body, the values of the parameters describing these elements may change. The article presents how the change of elasticity and damping parameters generated by the muscles influences the simulation of maintaining the balance.
