controlling work processes and inventories at the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) international Observatory (TIO) is an important function due to the interactivity of subsystems and various teams, and to ensure there is minimal impact to nighttime operations due to failures of any kind. In addition, there is precision and conformity required when working with optics and other complexsystems at the high altitude of Mauna Kea. Whilst telescopes such as the TIO are complex machines, tools used to control assets and maintenance activities should not be. The purpose of such a tool should be to guarantee successful outcomes via efficient inputs. In this paper we share our method for determining the criteria and tool selection for TIO's management of assets, inventory, and maintenance activities. Our proposed method integrates technical, functional, and organizational elements that factored into the criteria weightings. Technical specifications evaluate compatibility, customization and scalability. Functional criteria assess workflows, scheduling, inventory control, and reporting. Organizational criteria evaluate vendor support, product documentation, and long-term viability. The application of a weighted score system enables quantitative comparison between each possibility(1), ensuring the selected tool meets the needs of TIO, thus maximizing the benefits provided by an effective maintenance management tool.

Evolutionary optimization plays an important role in the representation of information from data sets originating from various technical fields and natural sciences, as it helps to explore parameter spaces for meaningful representations. Quality-Diversity (QD) methods, notably MAP-Elites variants, prove effective in diverse fields, emphasizing their ability to provide sets of high-performing solutions. This review discusses challenges in single- and multi-objective optimization, with applications in multiple directions such as image processing, visualization, and medical imaging. It also reviews QD algorithms and highlights advancements in algorithmic adaptations, user-driven optimization and the potential to explore complex feature spaces. Artificial intelligence techniques (AI), especially Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), have a significant impact on the control of electrical machines and power systems. Neural networks have created new and advanced boundaries in controlling power systems and electric generators, and they are already a complex, multidisciplinary technology undergoing dynamic evolution in recent years. This paper presents the application of a control methodology to a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) in the context of a variable speed wind turbine system. The study particularly focused on exploring the performance and optimization of the wind turbine system through the use of this control approach to extract the maximum amount of variable speed wind energy and address associated errors and problems, the control being studied and applied is Supervised ANN by FOC. The discussion explored the various components and performance of a wind system (WS) through simulations conducted in MATLAB/Simulink.
