With the increasing penetration of distributed renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic and wind power generators in distribution networks, overvoltage problems occurred as a result of the reversed power flow. The randomness and intermittence of power outputs of the renewable energy sources make the operations of distribution systemscomplex at the same time. This paper proposes a simplified optimal dispatch algorithm for fast renewable energy sources power control to overcome voltage problems and permit better performance for distribution systems. Case study demonstrates the accuracy and efficiency of the optimal dispatch method proposed.

Traditionally, it would require operating personnel directly making correction on site when the production line appears to have problems or is broken. In the process, safety and distance factors might result in unnecessary danger or delayed recovery. The integration of virtual reality software with graphic monitoring is proposed in this study to achieve the idea of cyber-physical system, allowing operating personnel immediately dealing with problems in the centralized control center without going to the site. The stereo-model of equipment and the peripherals are first established, and then the model material is pasted for the combination. The model is further imported to the virtual reality, and the interactive human machine interface is established to integrate the virtual-reality machines with the physical ones for the synchronous action. The experiment proves that using the self-developed system for operating virtual-reality machines could effectively and synchronously control the functions of “automatic continuous”, “single continuous”, “stepping action”, and “reset” of physical machine.

Interactive failures are failures caused by two or more components that often occur in complexsystems when the system is modified, upgraded, or simply designed inadequately. However, the official guideline provided, namely, common cause analysis, cannot discover these problems. It cannot establish a complex interactive system model, nor can it provide a unified analysis method for all parts of the system. Another method, systems theoretic process analysis, is limited to the control system. To solve this problem, a method called system theoretic formal analysis method (STFAM) is proposed in this paper. STFAM establishes a system-component-interactive model that provides an abundance of interactive information for failure analysis and presents a unified model to support the analysis of multiple components in the system. It is divided into three steps. First, a hierarchical system structure is built and then transformed into a formalized state machine. Next, the interactive failures are determined and converted into a linear temporal logic or computation tree logic model. Finally, NuSMV is used to verify the model and record the results. To evaluate the proposed method, a practical problem that occurred in full-authority digital engine control, in which in some cases, the valve closes for unknown reasons until the system is reset is presented. An analysis of the issue demonstrates the effectiveness of our method.

At present, introduction of operating firing field technologies is one of the urgent tasks of the Russian railway transport, as their use can significantly improve operational performance parameters. The factors and conditions of transition to operating firing field control system for operational performance are investigated in this paper. It provides the analysis of the problems that arise during the work of the operating firing field and proposes measures for their elimination. Methods of mathematical and computer modeling using the author's software product were used. A new approach to multilevel simulation of the work of a transport operating firing field has been developed, which involves the use of the mathematical apparatus of multiphase queuing systems.

This paper reviews the power quality indicators and evaluation methods specified in the IEEE. Based on the experiments, the power quality problems caused by the switching of small-scale single-phase photovoltaic (PV) systems and large-scale three-phase PV power plants are analyzed. Meanwhile, under the state of PV systems input and cut-out, the influence of load switching of different properties on power quality is analyzed. Experiments show that the switching of PV systems will lead to voltage sags and impulsive transients, as well as current waveform distortion. However, the input of PV systems has a good restraint effect on voltage sags and impulsive transients caused by loads switching.
