The development and implementation of the 'ARM technologist of blast furnace shop' automated information system is carried out in the blast furnace shop of PJSC 'Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works'. This system includes a set of subsystems (software modules) that implement a complex of mathematical models of UrFU-MMK. The system helps the engineering staff to solve a complex of technological problems, aimed, ultimately, at increasing the efficiency of blast furnace smelting. The experience shows that one of the main conditions for creating high-quality software is the process of its testing. Currently, in most cases of program development employs the iterative technology, which involves both the development of new software modules, and the improvement of existing ones. In this regard, it is necessary to create a large number of unit tests. However, writing unit tests is time consuming. The most optimal test coverage is 70-80% of the program code. With the development of the project, the number of tests that must be performed when each new version is released increases. The costs of maintaining the development process increase significantly. Therefore, the creation of regression tests are required to minimize time and human resources spent on testing. The article briefly describes the technology and software tools used by the authors to develop the regression testing system 'ARM technologist of blast furnace shop'. © 2018 IEEE.

The Sliding Mode control (SMC) system of DC converter is a kind of time-varying nonlinear system. There is a complex coupling relationship between the energy storage component capacitance and inductance, hysteresis modulation and SMC controller, which seriously restricts the transient response and output voltage quality of the system. In this paper, the full-order sliding mode control method is applied to solve the problems of differential seeking and high frequency chattering in the existing sliding mode control. For the second-order Buck converter system, a new full-step sliding surface and robust control law are designed, and the stability proof is given. The traditional sliding mode control chattering is caused by the symbol function in the control law. In the full-order sliding mode control, the switching control term uses the integral of the symbol function instead of the symbol function, and increases the order of the sliding mode variable to the symbol function. Integral derivation, on the basis of ensuring the control effect, the continuity of the control quantity is realized, the chattering is eliminated, and the full-order mode of the sliding mode motion of the Buck converter is guaranteed. System performance is improved by eliminating control amount chattering. By introducing full-order variable sliding mode control, the control amount of the Buck converter sliding mode control system is continuous, thereby eliminating the chattering of the control amount.

Logistics is a complex field, requires use bioinspired algorithms used to refer a solution of computational problems, based on the planning and implementation on existing models in the evolutionary process. However, other paradigms that can be taken in the creation of evolutionary algorithms also exist such as the forces of nature, which have been many algorithms based on water, gas and wind reactions. Many of the environments involving unstructured problems in this case a problem of accommodation vessels relate with survive supplies to an oil platform with limited resources, which can be considered from the perspective of brainstorm process. This process offer a wide range categorized models that ignore the possible solutions to the problem common situation in real life. The purpose of this research is to apply evolutionary computation properties of brain process to a problem related with technology, to corroborate through data mining analysis of how is the support of various companies which use technology and carry different types of goods deemed survival supplies. A model arrangement of supplies vessels was developed in order to enable learning of this intelligent logistics problem, modelling a problem from PEMEX (Oil Government Company in Mexico) using to resolve Brain Storm Optimization Algorithm.

This paper presents RoFaLT, a freely-available, model-based iterative learning control (ILC) tool for nonlinear systems, that strives to close the gap between the theory of nonlinear ILC and successful applications. By providing a simple yet powerful syntax, all phases of the design of a nonlinear ILC - from modeling, tuning and execution, to analysis - are supported. RoFaLT implements an optimization-based two-step approach that yields fast convergence rates for nonlinear systems and is easily tunable to trade convergence speed off for robustness. To demonstrate the efficiency of RoFaLT, an application to a tracking problem of a race car is considered, where a simple kinematic bicycle model is used to iteratively learn the control of complex vehicle dynamics. The results show fast convergence and the effect of different tunings is shown. © 2018 IEEE.

Realizing more complex functions with more simple structure, lower weight/price and easier control system is still a great challenge for prosthetic hand. This paper proposed a novel underactuated prosthetic hand with flexible multi-joint finger structure based on Electroencephalogram (EEG) control. It contains 5 fingers moving independently and driven by a linear actuator each. Each finger is designed as similar integrated structure using parametric modeling method and is 3D printable, which can realize rapid fabrication and customization for different anthropometric dimensions of amputees. The adjacent phalanges are connected with flexible joints, and an elastic steel sheet is used to drive the joint to rotate. Except that the thumb contains 2 joints, each of the other four fingers contains 3 joints. We constructed a portable prototype and developed an EEG-based control system for the prosthetic hand. The pilot experiment shows it can achieve basic movements like pointing, pinching and holding, which verifies the effectiveness of this design.

The prohibitively amount of data required when learning complex nonlinear policies, such as deep neural networks, has been significantly reduced with guided policy search (GPS) algorithms. However, while learning the control policy, the robot might fail and therefore generate unacceptable guiding samples. Failures may arise, for example, as a consequence of modeling or environmental uncertainties, and thus unsuccessful interactions should be explicitly considered while learning a complex policy. Currently, GPS methods update the robot policy discarding or giving low probability to unsuccessful trials. In other words, these methods overlook the existence of poorly performing executions, and therefore tend to underestimate the information of these interactions in next iterations. In this paper we propose to learn deep neural network controllers with an extension of GPS that considers trajectories optimized with dualist constraints. These constraints are aimed at assisting the policy learning so that the trajectory distributions updated at each iteration are similar to good trajectory distributions (e.g., sucessful executions) while differing from bad trajectory distributions (e.g. failures). We show that neural network policies guided by trajectories optimized with our method reduce the failures during the policy exploration phase, and therefore encourage safer interactions. This may have a relevant impact in tasks that involve physical contact with the environment or human partners.

Process controls (basic as well as advanced) are implemented within the process control system, which may mean a distributed control system (DCS), programmable logic controller (PLC), and/or a supervisory control computer. DCSs and PLCs are typically industrially hardened and fault-Tolerant. Supervisory control computers are often not hardened or fault-Tolerant, but they bring a higher level of computational capability to the control system, to host valuable, but not critical, advanced control applications. Advanced controls may reside in either the DCS or the supervisory computer, depending on the application. Basic controls reside in the DCS and its subsystems, including PLCs. Because we usually deal with real-world systems with real-world constraints (cost, computer resources, size, weight, power, heat dissipation, etc.), it is understood that the simplest method to accomplish a task is the one that should be used. Experts usually rely on common sense when they solve problems. They also use vague and ambiguous terms. Other experts have no difficulties with understanding and interpreting this statement because they have the background to hearing problems described like this. However, a knowledge engineer would have difficulties providing a computer with the same level of understanding. In a complex industrial process, how can we represent expert knowledge that uses vague and fuzzy terms in a computer to control it? In this context, the application is developed to control the pretreatment and pasteurization station of milk localized in Batna (Algeria) by adopting a control approach based on expert knowledge and fuzzy logic. © 2018 IEEE.

Delay differential equations are fundamental for modeling networked control systems where the underlying network induces delay for retrieving values from sensors or delivering orders to actuators. They are notoriously difficult to integrate as these are actually functional equations, the initial state being a function. We propose a scheme to compute inner and outer-approximating flowpipes for such equations with uncertain initial states and parameters. Inner-approximating flowpipes are guaranteed to contain only reachable states, while outer-approximating flowpipes enclose all reachable states. We also introduce a notion of robust inner-approximation, which we believe opens promising perspectives for verification, beyond property falsification. The efficiency of our approach relies on the combination of Taylor models in time, with an abstraction or parameterization in space based on affine forms, or zonotopes. It also relies on an extension of the mean-value theorem, which allows us to deduce inner-approximating flowpipes, from flowpipes outerapproximating the solution of the DDE and its Jacobian with respect to constant but uncertain parameters and initial conditions. We present some experimental results obtained with our C++ implementation.

Surface mounted electronic devices (SMD) are subjected to complex thermo-mechanical loads during manufacturing as well as during their service life. Even during manufacturing, voids and cracks can nucleate in soldered joints and also in components such as capacitors, made of brittle materials. An initial damage can have a detrimental effect on the lifetime of the product. Modelling of crack initiation and propagation is difficult in classical finite element analysis (FEM), due to the singularity of the mathematical functions in the differential analysis. Extended FEM (X-FEM) and meshless methods were developed to overcome these problems, nevertheless thermo-mechanical coupling of cracks and crack branching is still open for further research. Peridynamic Continuum Modelling (PCM) is dedicated to solve the crack initiation, propagation and fracture by integral equations. In original bond-based peridynamics, tearable springs are defined between all the couples of material points of the continuum, while in a more advanced formulation as a state-based modelling, a force vector is defined as well. In this work, the state based peridynamic model of the coupled thermo-mechanical problem was developed, and applied to detect deformations due to thermal loads of board models, and initiation and propagation of cracks during cooling, in relation with modeling wave soldering technologies of components to a printed circuit board.

The scientific basis of the organization of construction production involves the development of innovative models and methods of construction planning. The article studies the issues of perspective planning. After several years of research, the authors propose a new approach to forecasting and long-term planning. The authors consider the construction as a holistic design and realistic complex. As defined by the Bank of World, a project is a set of interrelated activities designed to achieve objectives within a given time frame and budget, with clearly defined objectives. In the article the mathematical model allowing to plan construction production for long term and to operate it is offered. The proposed method makes it possible to effectively and ergonomically solve the problems of construction plan and construction management.
