In this paper, we tackle the design of complex discrete event systems whose structures change as they are developed in different operating modes. Based on the Supervisory control Theory (SCT), we propose a formal hierarchical approach for controlling the design of these systems by using a multi-model approach;it involves representing complexsystems by a set of simple models, each of which describing the system in a given operating mode. The resulting framework allows resolving problems of reconfigurations and managing of common components to multiple operating modes;and it is designed by using the Colored Petri Nets (CP-Nets) formalism. The development and creation of frequency synthesizers is extremely important for laser physics problems, primarily for absolute frequency measurements. Numerous technical solutions for these purposes are known, but specific requirements, including the absence of jumps in the switching of the control code and the smoothness of the phase change of the generated signal, make it necessary to abandon the use of most known technical means for these purposes and develop individual devices based on new technical solutions. To the greatest extent these requirements are met by synthesizers on the basis of a method combining phase auto-tuning and frequency summation. The accuracy of such synthesizers is enhanced by the addition of identical blocks, which are seen as extremely simple. However, as it turns out, these blocks are still quite complex. Therefore, their addition is associated with a noticeable rise in price. This paper offers a new original solution to this problem by developing such refinement blocks that do not contain phase-locked loop subsystems. The synthesizer contains a simple block generating only two reference frequencies, several identical blocks containing synchronized switches, frequency adders, frequency dividers and filters, and the technical requirements for all these nodes are extremely simple. High characteristics of the device as a whole are achieved due to the organization of the signal conversion algorithm in it. The chosen frequency ratios greatly simplify the filters. The theoretical substantiation of the working capacity of all technical solutions, confirmed by modeling, is given, as well as the functional scheme of the synthesizer.

In this paper, projection techniques of an initial-boundary value problem formulated originally in PDEs to a system of ODEs of small dimension are presented. Properties of various quadratic relations derived from energy terms that arise in different problems of mathematical physics are studied and discussed. As an example, integrodifferential formulations of a 2-D heat transfer problem are considered. A feedforward control problem for heat transfer processes in a metal plate is reduced to a system of ordinary differential equations based on the finite element method and semi-discrete approximations with polynomial basis functions for which an analysis of the problem is performed. Finally, results of numerical simulations are presented and discussed.

In conditions of a mass character of higher education, the problems of student identification are relevant because of the differences in the contingent of students in terms of level of training, personal and cognitive characteristics. The learning process is characterized by the presence of uncertainty factors, which requires modeling and control of the application process of methods and tools of adaptive prediction of trajectories of students' learning. A method has been developed for the sequential refinement of the prediction of students' learning, taking into account individual cognitive characteristics.

The problem of sustainable development of production systems is divided into the problem of multilevel optimization of production system and problem of sustainability provision in case of possible internal and external disturbances. Optimization problems are solved by means of the methods of optimal aggregation and sustainability problems - in the base of information technology of construction of "pseudo-one-dimensional" non-linear difference equations. The examples of the models and modeling results are considered.

complex distributed systems are of more significance nowadays, due to a broader range of its use and because of provision of better services to users. It is clear, that system health needs continuous monitoring, while running software apps that are ensuring the implementation of the business processes, working with Big Data, etc. In the course of this study a monitoring system has been developed. It meets all modern requirements, such as scalability, flexibility, comprehensiveness of necessary data and ease of use. In order to identify unified problems in development of monitoring systems for complex distributed systems and respectively - the solutions for their elimination, the data regarding IT-architecture most common types used in modern companies, related to fault-points of business apps has been gathered and analysed. All of identified problems and optimal solutions to eliminate them were aggregated in line with the three development stages of monitoring system, such as: development of servicing model for system-of-interest, implementing tools to detect objects of monitoring, generating a health map of system-of-interest. In order to develop monitoring systems for complex distributed systems taking into account the architecture of these systems, all of the gathered data was analysed, and we articulated all problems and optimal solutions for their elimination as well.

The paper presents a relevant issue based on the fact that the control mode of combustion process in the working space of thermal installations influences the value of specific fuel consumption, the safety of technological units, and environmental conditions. The main problems and solutions are identified. The nonlinear static characteristic of dependence of fuel consumption on air consumption in the conditions of stabilization of heat generated as a result of combustion process is shown. The structural scheme of energy-saving fuzzy control of the combustion process in the working space of a thermal installation is developed. Mathematical modeling of the combustion process in the working space of a thermal unit is performed. The influence of the combustion control mode on the specific fuel consumption is estimated. The main advantages of the use of this method of combustion process control in a thermal installation are indicated.
