This paper pays an attention to design an optimal controller for PV based microgrid with battery storage. Active and reactive power are the most sensitive parameters which need to be controlled, when there is disturbances(i.e. transient disturbance) in the power grid. A set of P-I controller is present to control the active power and reactive power of the system. It is a tedious work to tune up these PI gains optimally due to the non-linearity and the high complexity of the system. Out of the different methods for solving optimal controlproblems (whether direct or indirect), Evolutionary algorithm is one. In this paper, concurrently control of reactive power and active power is analyzed by an recently reported metaheuristics technique known as Lightning Search Algorithm, to design the optimal P-Q controllers. The control algorithms are tested with distribution system with presence of fault and without fault. The results shows that the proposed algorithm is efficient to find the optimal parameters of the controllers. The simulations studies are carried out in MATLAB and Simpower systems.

Maintaining balance by a person, despite the fact that it seems to be something completely natural, is a very complex process. It begins with a deep feeling, i.e. proprioception, resulting from the operation of the nervous system, which registers even slight movements of the body from an upright standing position and reacts to these deviations by activating appropriate strategies to regain balance. It is realized by sequential activation of antagonistic muscles, which, acting alternately, are responsible for correcting the posture. In such a case, when one of the muscles is responsible for initiating the movement, the other, acting in the opposite way, tries to slow down the movement. With appropriate simplifications, such a system can be presented as a mechanical system in the form of an inverted pendulum with an appropriate number of degrees of freedom. The antagonistic work of muscles in mathematical models of such systems is taken into account by using elastic and damping elements. It should be remembered, however, that with the appearance of disease processes or processes related to the aging of the human body, the values of the parameters describing these elements may change. The article presents how the change of elasticity and damping parameters generated by the muscles influences the simulation of maintaining the balance.

In order to reduce the risk of runway incursion, many airports plan to deploy stop bars or in the process of stop bars deployment. Considering many problems occurring in the deployment of stop bars of existing operating airports or new airports,such as high cost for laying primary cable power supply loops and complex installation and construction of lamps, the stop bars system powered by the solar power system is designed. This paper starts from the research of system composition and architecture, completing the software and hardware design of the system, realizes the power supply and working condition monitoring of lamps, meanwhile, the wireless communication technology is adopted to achieve remote on-off control over lamps. The results of the experimental verification shows that basic function, stability and reliability of the system, which need to meet the use requirements of Advanced-Surface Movement Guidance & control System (A-SMGCS), providing significant technical support for future runway incursion early-warning systems at airports.

Legged vehicles offer several advantages over wheeled vehicles-particularly over broken terrain, but are presently too slow to be advantageous for many tasks. Trotting, the precursor to galloping for many quadrupeds, employs high-speed actuation to coordinate the intermittent ground contacts for each leg. Compliant elements and high-power actuators combine to perform a complex interchange of potential and kinetic energy during these short thrust intervals. These complexities, the frictional and contact losses that occur during normal running, plus the high number of degrees of freedom make three-dimensional (3D) dynamic quadruped motion very difficult to model accurately for control. For this reason, most of the research effort has been focused on simplified planar systems, only allowing motion in the sagittal plane. Many of these controllers only perform well around a fixed operating point and cannot regulate heading for desired changes in running direction. A 3D trotting controller which overcomes the above problems is presented here. Simulation results show the system responding appropriately to changes in the desired speed up to 3 m/s and heading up to 20 deg/s.
