In the paper we consider the problem of identification of large-scale interconnected systems. Accurate models of complex nets are needed especially for optimal control in production and transportation systems. The specifics lay in the fact that individual elements cannot be disconnected and excited by arbitrary input processes for identification purposes. Moreover, structural interactions cause correlations between interaction signals. In particular, any output random disturbances can be transferred into the other inputs. It leads to cross-correlation problems, very difficult from the effective modelling point of view. First attempts made in 1980's were limited to static linear blocks, and in practice the results were rather devoted to linear dynamic systems working in steady state. In this paper we generalize the approach for components, which are both dynamic and nonlinear. All blocks are represented by two-channel Hammerstein systems (used e.g. in modelling of real heating processes). The least squares estimate is applied to identify unknown parameters of a system. The parameters of particular elements are obtained in singular value decomposition procedure. The algorithm as a whole is illustrated in simple simulation example. (C) 2017 The Authors. Social media has become an important platform for people to express opinions, share information and communicate with others. Detecting and tracking topics from social media can help people grasp essential information and facilitate many security-related applications. As social media texts are usually short, traditional topic evolution models built based on LDA or HDP often suffer from the data sparsity problem. Recently proposed topic evolution models are more suitable for short texts, but they need to manually specify topic number which is fixed during different time period. To address these issues, in this paper, we propose a nonparametric topic evolution model for social media short texts. We first propose the recurrent semantic dependent Chinese restaurant process (rsdCRP), which is a nonparametric process incorporating word embeddings to capture semantic similarity information. Then we combine rsdCRP with word co-occurrence modeling and build our short-text oriented topic evolution model sdTEM. We carry out experimental studies on twitter dataset. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of our method to monitor social media topic evolution compared to the baseline methods.

This paper considers the problems of algorithmic music variations and modeling of musical creativity in general with a help of genetic algorithms. The proposed model of algorithmic musical variations with genetic algorithms is based on analysis and adaptation of ideas about algorithmic musical variations provided by R. Kh. Zaripov. Implementation of created model is based on Genom software, the platform for experiments in modeling of musical creativity with genetic algorithms. Experiments show that the proposed model can be used to create simple musical variations. The practical application of this system lies in interactive help for composer in creationof various musical ideas for further development. Several experimental results are shown in a form of musical scores. (c) 2018 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

In this paper the principle of biconstituent information is considered as the unity of its "properties" and its "carrier" (for example, in optics knowledge about the reference and reflected rays is necessary for information extraction). In data analysis it is proposed to consider the measurement procedure as the "carrier" and the measured value as a "property". The existence of the risk of obtaining an incorrect result of processing the measurement data is stated because of the knowledge incompleteness of complicated in general case information mechanism. A generalized form of the object-property table is proposed to reflect the realities of the empirical data accumulation. Presence of dependencies between the results of the measurement procedures has been researched as one of the fundamental risk factors. The necessity of introducing the so-called "properties existence constraints" into the context of data analysis problems is justified as illustrated by examples from cognitive data analysis. This paper deals with the synthesis, design, and comparison of robust H-infinity (H-infinity) and RST position controllers of Piezoelectric Actuator Drive (PAD). The PAD is an accurate rotary piezoelectric motor that employs the elongation of stack actuators, the micro-toothed ring and the shaft to generate rotation motion. The motor position depends on precise adjustment between motor ring and shaft and therefore demand a closed loop control to overcome the maladjustment problems. In this paper Simulink model of the PAD is firstly proposed to evaluate the motor behavior. The transfer function between the control signal and motor shaft position is experimentally identified. H-infinity and RST position controllers are then synthesized. The precision and robustness of the proposed closed loop system are also validated.

Model-Based Testing is a testing approach used for automated test generation, execution, and evaluation. It is based on a formal behavioral model of the tested system. This paper presents a new test generation method that utilizes an advanced variant of Petri nets for a description of the systems under test and Constraint programming for tests generation. The presented method aims for modeling and testing distributed and parallel systems, which are commonly used in automotive. In the proposed approach, Petri Nets with Discrete Variables describe system behavior model. This Petri net variant extends nets with variables, which are used as system inputs and outputs. The paper show novel testing methods that utilize Constraint programming, and where the actual test inputs are generated as a solution to combinatorial problems.

This paper offers a certain approach to optimizing the modes of heat supply to buildings based on real time geoinformation technologies. In order to solve this task of optimization it is proposed to apply the software and hardware complex which includes geoinformation system. This system operates in real time mode along with automated systems of control and adjustment of parameters of heat supply networks, as well as the system for optimizing the modes of heat supply based on mathematical modeling methodologies. Practical implementation of the proposed approach enables to improve the quality of work and reliability of district heating systems, as well as to reduce consumption of heat energy by consumers. A macromodel for the analysis of energy efficiency and optimization of heat supply of buildings has been developed for the South Ural State University. The systemic impact of implementation of the proposed approach by the University translated into the reduction of heat energy consumption during the 2014-2015 heating season by 7.43% as compared with 2013-2014.
