Clustering of the morphological set of engineering solutions in the synthesis of systems is the process of grouping similar solutions in order to facilitate their analysis and selection of the best option. This method simplifies the complex task of choosing the optimal solution by dividing it into smaller group analysis. The article discusses the clustering of synthesized solutions in morphological analysis. The issues of building clusters and the possibility of dividing individual clusters into subclusters are considered. The example shows the expediency of these procedures in mathematical modeling. After clustering a set of solutions, the generated groups are analyzed and the best option is selected, taking into account the specified criteria and constraints. This approach makes it possible to effectively solve the problems of synthesis of technical systems and reduces the time for making informed decisions. The development of cluster analysis of a morphological set of decisions contributes to improving the efficiency and quality of decisions made in various technical fields.

Space exploration in recent years has seen growth, with Mars being the preferred destination for major space agencies. Among the multiple problems faced by robotic exploration systems (commonly called rovers) is the control of their orientation. For this, complex and highly non-linear dynamic models are used as a starting point. Among the models used is the lateral dynamics model, which takes into consideration factors such as sideslip, yaw rate, and lateral forces generated in the rover. This work presents a non-linear control law based on extended linearisation capable of orienting the rover to a certain angle according to an inertial reference frame. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In order to solve the problems of complex control logic and the difficulty of simulating function modules due to the high coupling degree of subway control circuits, a subway control circuit co-simulation system is designed in this paper. By analysing the components data and connection relationship in the subway control circuit schematic diagrams, the network topologies are automatically generated, and the mathematical relationships between nodes, branches and components states are established, so as to build a complete logical control model. The depth-first search (DFS) algorithm is adopted to search the effective path across the topology, the event management unit is added to solve the linkage control of the relay, and the logic function simulation of the function module is realized by embedded script. Finally, the feasibility of the simulation system is verified through the simulation test of the subway door control circuits and the analysis of the simulation results. The system is conducive to the functional test and algorithm verification at the subway design stage, and has a good application prospect in the field of subway driver training. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The paper gives a statement and considers the solution of an urgent scientific problem of formation control for a group of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) operating in an unstable environment. To construct the reference trajectories and allocate UAVs to positions of a given structure, an original approach is proposed based on the adapted Kohonen neural network with a set of metrics, including Euclidean, Mahalanobis and Euclidean-Mahalanobis distances. To implement the movement of a UAV group in a complex environment, we apply the principles of intelligent-geometric control, which allows to combine flexible intelligent and precise geometric control methods within one concept. When moving along a given route, UAVs use a set of allowable control strategies. The developed modeling scheme is designed to take into account wind loads and possibly dangerous rapprochement of vehicles. To reflect the dynamics of UAVs, a special module is used that contains transfer functions integrated into a single stabilization system with an autopilot. The proposed approach has shown promise when simulating a series of formation control problems. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper discusses the issues of development of an algorithm for the movement of the measuring module of an automated system for non-destructive quality testing of the solder joints of the engine nozzle. The object of testing is identified as a one with a complex geometric shape, the flaws in soldered joints of the test object occur during the manufacturing process. Defects studied in this paper are: dry joint», partial dry joint» and cold lap». The relevance of the development, as well as the problems of production and testing of engine nozzles, which do not allow to identify the required defects at the early stages of manufacturing assembly units without destroying the integrity of the engine nozzle, are substantiated. The existing approaches are described in terms of the choice of methods and means for non-destructive testing of engine nozzles of complex geometric shapes, their advantages and disadvantages are identified. The existing problems in terms of automation of the pulse-echo and through-transmission methods of ultrasonic testing are analysed, the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed methods are identified. The main factors that reduce the probability of detecting defects are determined, namely, the instability of the acoustic contact between the transducer and the test object, as well as the deviation of the acoustic axis of the transducer from the normal to the surface of the test object. The requirements for the motion algorithm of the measuring module of an automated non-destructive testing system with feedback based on the signal amplitude measured during scanning from the structural elements of the internal structure of the engine nozzle are determined. © 2023 IEEE.

Microbial consortia are promising biotechnological production systems with the potential to divide complex metabolic pathways into smaller submodules, as well as make products and consume substrates that monocultures cannot. Maintaining optimal cell population levels and preventing mono culture formation challenge bioproduction by microbial consortia. Optogenetics allows for regulating the expression of key growth-regulatory genes through light to modulate cell population levels. Model-based dynamic optimization can determine optimal light trajectories and inoculum sizes that maximize product synthesis while satisfying system constraints, e.g., safety, economic, or technical aspects. Further-more, closed-loop dynamic optimization can address system uncertainty to a certain extent;however, its implementation is challenging due to limited online sensors. Alternatively, here we propose to perform open-loop optimization with batch-to-batch model adaptation based on Gaussian processes for maximizing bioproduction by optogenetically assisted consortia. The proposed approach enables knowledge transfer from existing to new models, improving predictability and optimization performance in each batch while avoiding costly and time-consuming modeling experiments. Compared to closed-loop optimization, this strategy is easier to implement as it does not rely on online monitoring, contributing to the state of the art in optimizing bioproduction by microbial consortia. We outline the applicability of the approach using simulation experiments of an optogenetically assisted consortium for the biosynthesis of the flavonoid naringenin, considering both parameter and model structure uncertainty. © 2023 ICROS.

Many car manufacturers are forced to create major research projects for the development of electric and hybrid-electric cars due to the oil crisis and environmental concerns. Thus, if we want to improve our mobility, it is imperative to find efficient and clean means of traction. the optimal energy control and management system in electric vehicles can be the ideal solution. but this solution is currently not too mastered, from the point of view of robustness and reliability of the control. To address those problems, we propose a compare the robustness and response times of the tow technics PI controller and fuzzy logic. The control of the electric machine (PMSM) using traditional strategies and the PI controller, as well as fuzzy logic with parametric perturbations on the vehicle dynamics caused by the slope and other environmental factors, is the focus of this paper in this context. The paper concludes with a discussion of the simulation results. © 2023 IEEE.
