Sensitive data is available online through web and distributed protocols that highlight the need for access control mechanisms. System designers write access control policies to represent conditions on accessing data. Access control policies can contain anomalies (redundancy, inconsistency, irrelevancy, and incompleteness) that can lead to security vulnerabilities. Detecting anomalies in large and complex policies is challenging due to the lack of effective analysis mechanisms and tools. In this paper, we introduce a formal tree-based policy modeling technique to represent, update, and analyze access control policies. Based on the proposed formal policy modeling, we propose an anomaly detection technique. Our approach focuses on Attribute Based Access control (ABAC) policies as they are widely adopted. Also, they can provide high flexibility and enhance security and information sharing. The effectiveness of our policy modeling and anomaly detection technique has been demonstrated through experimental evaluation.

The paper presents a comparative study of various ways of specifying program movements for mechatronic objects (MO) along complex spatial trajectories defined by parametric Bezier splines, B-splines and third-order Catmull-Rom splines. An expression is obtained to describe the dependence of the rate of change of the parameter setting the desired position of the MO with the program speed of its movement, taking into account information about the type of trajectory. As a result, using this expression, which is universal for all the specified parametric splines of the third order, it is ensured that the MO moves along the trajectory exactly at a given speed while simultaneously changing its orientation as desired. The application of the methods considered in this paper does not require complex iterative calculations and allows one to perform all the necessary calculations in real time, even on low-power on-board computers of various robots and robotic complexes. Numerical modeling was carried out to analyze the features of the use of these splines in solving practical problems. © 2022 IEEE.

How to improve the friendliness of new energy grid-connected through flexible control of power electronic devices, realize the multi-directional orderly flow of energy and secure and stable operation of the power grid, fully verify the rationality of the power grid structure and the performance of the stability control equipment through simulation to guide the actual engineering construction and control equipment access-in are the main technical problems to solve the flexible consumption of new energy and accelerate the construction of new power system. Based on the advantages of flexible DC transmission, flexible power flow control, easy to realize multi-terminal interconnection and form a HVDC transmission network, a 'router' type networking structure is proposed, which can realize the flexible access, plug and play of heterogeneous new energy power generation units, and realize rapid power adjustment and grid frequency/voltage stability control through joint control between converter stations. Through standard modular modeling, a digital-analog hybrid simulation platform based on parallel computing of heterogeneous processors is constructed, hardware-in-the-loop tests of power grid operation control strategy are carried out, and engineering empirical research is carried out to verify the reliability and effectiveness operation capability of power router system. © 2024 IEEE.

Networked traffic signal control (NTSC) is essential for intelligent transportation systems. How to control multiple intersections in a cooperative way based on traffic conditions is critical for the success of NTSC. This paper proposes a Transformer-based cooperation mechanism (TCM) with the consideration of dynamic modeling and scale requirements simultaneously for large-scale traffic network control. Considering the physical constraints in traffic scenarios, a relative position encoding is designed to embed into TCM to characterize traffic conditions better. With the shared TCM module, intersection controllers could adequately exploit spatial-temporal correlations and adaptively capture global traffic dynamics, guiding them to explore collaborative traffic strategies more efficiently. Experimental results on two realworld datasets demonstrate that the suggested strategy greatly outperforms the state-of-the-art methods.

A modern foundry workshop is a complex dynamic system, the functioning of which is determined by the stochastic nature of the interaction of various equipment and its structure. Existing methods for calculating melting furnaces have shown that the largest share of downtime of automatic molding lines, 30–60% of their total number, is downtime due to the lack of metal and molding sand. The purpose of the work is to develop a methodology for controlling the operation of melting furnaces in foundry workshops using simulation models. The process of modeling a melting system includes: calculating the number of furnaces to complete the production program, the schedule for turning on the furnaces, the stages from loading the charge into the furnace to pouring the metal into molds on the pouring section of the foundry conveyor. When modeling the technological process, the reliability of equipment operation is taken into account. A method for controlling the operation of a melting system has been implemented for a steel casting shop. The results showed its high efficiency. It allows you to check the correctness of the calculation of the operation of melting and auxiliary equipment for a predetermined period of time, as well as the rational organization of the system’s operation, obtain high-quality castings in the required quantity, identify its "bottlenecks", downtime, etc. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Sustainable electrical systems emphasize energy conservation and environmental protection. One of the ways to achieve this is by using an efficient fuel cell system. Designing a fuel cell should start with a set of objectives. In this literature, a review of fuel cells has been done from a broad perspective. One of the objectives to design a fuel cell lies with the basic working mechanism and voltage-current characteristics. It is followed by understanding the architectural configurations to prepare a stack system. In order to develop a hybrid model, various control strategies must be adopted. Crisp modeling is also required to simulate the system in an artificial environment, which aids in improving the operating parameters of the model. Basic modeling parameters are reviewed in this paper. This can further be elaborated on to complex systems. Few major applications in predominant sectors are also briefed. © 2022 IEEE.

The modeling and control of complex physical systems are essential in real-world problems. We propose a novel framework that is generally applicable to solving PDE-constrained optimal control problems by introducing surrogate models for PDE solution operators with special regularizers. The procedure of the proposed framework is divided into two phases: solution operator learning for PDE constraints (Phase 1) and searching for optimal control (Phase 2). Once the surrogate model is trained in Phase 1, the optimal control can be inferred in Phase 2 without intensive computations. Our framework can be applied to both data-driven and data-free cases. We demonstrate the successful application of our method to various optimal control problems for different control variables with diverse PDE constraints from the Poisson equation to Burgers' equation.

The ventilation and air conditioning system is a complex system in production facilities. Mathematical modeling of the ventilation and air conditioning system requires modeling of the building itself, as well as the operation of nodes, units of indoor and outdoor ventilation equipment. This article is devoted to the application of neighborhood models which allow to carry out system analysis of connections between a set of subsystems and their elements, parametrically identify equations with a large number of unknown parameters.

One of the traditional problems in air-traffic management is optimal safe scheduling aircraft at a point of air-routes join. However, this problem implies another one, namely, the problem of guiding the aircraft to the prescribed point of its route at the necessary instant. The latter problem is studied much less attentively. Change of the arrival instant can be provided by alternating the aircraft motion trajectory on the basis of near-airport air-routes scheme or by alternating its velocity. Such a control can be worked out as automatically by the aircraft autopilot as manually by an air-traffic controller. But it can be difficult to an air-traffic controller to construct such a control especially during rush hours in loaded airports. In this paper, the authors suggest an optimizational formalization of the problem of automatic directions generation for such a guiding. The criterion to be minimized in this formalization is the number of controller-pilot interactions, because each such an interaction is a long, difficult process liable to linguistic, technical, psychological, and other errors. Since the criterion and other processes are of discrete kind, the formalization is done in the framework of mixed integer quadratic programming. The obtained problems are solved numerically by means of MIQP-solver provided by the Gurobi library. Each subproblem is solved quite fast within 0.1-0.5 seconds. So, solution of the entire problem (which includes enumeration of trajectories and choice of the optimal velocity regime for each of them) takes one-two seconds. Thus, the problem for the entire group of aircraft can be solved during a time acceptable for a real time application. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
