Water pollution is a growing challenge for the environment and ecosystems, necessitating management of Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs). modeling the dynamical behaviors of these complex systems significantly affects the control and prediction performance. This study compares the performance of three widely used Activated Sludge Models (ASM1, ASM2, and ASM3) in removing key pollutants, mainly including Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD5), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Total Nitrogen (TN), and Hydrogen potential (pH). Each model of the activated sludge process incorporates unique representation of biological and chemical processes like nitrification, denitrification, and phosphorus removal. The results demonstrate significant differences in the models' stability, sensitivity, and effectiveness under varied operational conditions. The ASM3 benchmark consistently performs well in extreme scenarios, ASM1 shows strong stability, and ASM2 balances efficiency and reliability. These findings provide actionable insights for optimizing WWTP's operations, guiding model selection based on specific treatment objectives.

Vision-based applications such as traffic management, public area surveillance, and environmental monitoring require clear and accurate visual data from cameras to provide better services to people. But foggy weather and traffic pollution causes haze, dust, or smog to degrade image quality, and reduce visibility of the target area, and becomes a challenge to the reliability of the automated application in urban areas. They face some additional problems such as color distortion, non-uniform illumination, low light, and dense or nonhomogeneous haze. The learning-based methods outperform traditional image dehazing methods in complex real-world problems and utilize large image datasets, despite their notable performance, learning-based models can have high computation and may require wide-ranging training datasets. This paper discussed prior-based and deep learning-based image dehazing models to test the RESIDE dataset with indoor and outdoor hazy images. Further, objective evaluation metrics have been discussed that are being used to evaluate the quality of state-of-the-art methods. These methodologies help us to set up vision-based applications for smart cities and have shown great potential to enhance image quality affected by haze and low light.

The aim of this study is to explore production decision optimisation methods based on greedy algorithms and shortest path models, with a special focus on the impact of defective rates on firms and related decision considerations. By analysing the processing strategies such as testing and quality control of production materials, this paper establishes a binomial distribution model, a dynamic programming model and a shortest path model to optimise the enterprise structure. In the study, the binomial distribution model is firstly constructed to assess the defective rate of spare parts by applying the confidence test method in statistics, and the normal approximation is combined with the central limit theorem in order to facilitate the decision-making of sampling and testing. For multi-stage decision-making that deals with more complex production materials, dynamic planning methods are used to clarify the decision variables in each stage, and the shortest path model is combined to identify the lowest-cost path, and the optimal decision combination is finally filtered out. In addition, for the complexity of multiple processes, this paper is based on the idea of greedy algorithm to decompose the overall problem into multiple sub-problems, solving and integrating the optimal solutions of each sub-strategy one by one. The research results show that the proposed method effectively reduces the production decision-making cost and provides a feasible solution for enterprises to achieve cost minimisation and revenue maximisation.

The existing architecture for intent-based systems consists of four blocks: Intent translation, resolution, activation, and assurance. Such architecture, even though straightforward for small problems, results in prohibitively complex to maintain codebase for larger problems. This is due to mixing three distinct aspects of autonomous systems: optimal control, decision support functionality, and game-theory aspects. To handle this complexity, partitioning and agent-based approaches are used. These help to some extent but either directly result in sub-optimality or rapidly lead to complexity-induced stagnation of the intent system. Moreover, optimization and control theory aspects are afterthoughts. We propose an architecture that is based on optimal control abstracting the system (i.e., plant) for a decision support system which in turn consults a game theory core. This way, almost all decision theory questions are isolated in the optimal control core and game theory questions in game theory core. This separation of concerns enables agnostic algorithms capable of handling many users, intents, and components, along with their dynamic changes, optimally and without requiring changes in the codebase of the intent system.

Increasing the load capacity of drones can be effectively achieved by utilizing two drones. This paper introduces a novel cooperative control strategy for the transport of a slung bar-shaped load using two drones. Our approach integrates differential flatness-based motion planning with filtering techniques to generate reference trajectories. This method does not require prior knowledge of the load mass or cable deflection angles, and ensuring compatibility with a wide range of flight controllers. The proposed control scheme employs a super-twisting controller as an internal stabilizer to ensure robustness against model inaccuracies and external disturbances, providing precise stabilization around the preplanned trajectories. This methodology is particularly well-suited for practical applications requiring the cooperative transport of complex loads, such as wind turbine blades, where precision, robustness, and simplicity are critical.

DC microgrids are experiencing rapid evolution due to increasing renewable energy integration and diverse load requirements, necessitating advanced control strategies for stable operation. This paper presents a novel voltage regulation approach utilizing policy gradient reinforcement learning with SARSA algorithm for a PV-fed buck converter system. The proposed methodology addresses the complex dynamics of multiple load types through a hierarchical control framework that combines actor-critic networks for continuous control actions. The control strategy employs a comprehensive seven-parameter state space encompassing voltage error, current measurement, solar irradiance, duty cycle history, voltage dynamics, error integration, and average voltage deviation. The experimental validation employs a buck converter maintaining 48V DC output from a 100V PV source, tested under challenging scenarios including 100W constant power load, 50W pulsed power load, and variable linear load conditions. The results demonstrate significant advantages over traditional PI control: 83% reduction in steady-state error, 75% improvement in voltage stability, and 73% faster load transition response. The controller successfully maintains voltage variations within +-1V across diverse load combinations, effectively addressing the destabilizing effects of constant power loads and sudden pulsed load changes. The integration of policy-based learning with on-policy SARSA implementation enables real-time adaptation without prior system modeling requirements. This approach showcases exceptional performance in both steady-state maintenance and transient response, particularly in scenarios involving mixed load characteristics. The framework provides a robust solution for modern DC microgrid applications requiring stable voltage regulation under complex load dynamics.

In this paper, the algorithm of the probabilistic analysis method intended for modeling the determining parameter of complex technical systems with metrological support is presented. The algorithm is based on the application of the maximum entropy principle for the problem of constructing the distribution law of the determining parameter (random variable) of a complex technical system in the presence of restrictions on the value and nature of its change. The developed algorithm is applied repeatedly. As additional information is received, for example, after the next test cycle, it may be necessary to update the parameters of the restrictions used or introduce new restrictions. In this case, taking into account the new set of restrictions, a refined probability distribution function is constructed. The desired distribution laws can be constructed based on the solution of a boundary value problem for nonlinear differential equations of the second order.

The following achievements have been made: in the research of the operation image model of the large power grid, a real-time operation image model of the large power grid has been proposed. Corresponding solutions or technologies such as serviceability calculation have been proposed for typical difficult problems in dynamic measurement data and analysis calculation. Combined with the production needs of demonstration projects, the overall architecture design of the large power grid image model has been proposed, and the interface with simulation data and measurement data has been established to establish the large power grid image model. We have designed and implemented intelligent analysis and decision-making functions for the static safety and dynamic response characteristics of the power grid, as well as a laboratory validation plan for the effectiveness of response driven stability discrimination and control measures. In the analysis of the evolution of transient safety and stability characteristics in electromagnetically systems, a technical route for power grid image model 'prediction-planning-correction' state deduction has been proposed, providing basic materials for system state analysis under different operating conditions. We have established a provincial-level grid 10000 node point mixed simulation verification platform, which can be used to verify the effectiveness testing of prototypes in operating scenarios, and conducted research on demonstration project implementation plans. © 2025 IEEE.

With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, particularly deep learning, intrusion detection methods based on deep learning have gained significant attention. Deep learning can automatically extract features from large datasets and classify complex patterns, offering better adaptability and flexibility than traditional methods. It is especially effective in handling dynamic industrial environments and unknown attacks, improving detection accuracy while reducing false positives and false negatives. However, challenges remain, such as model generalization and computational efficiency. To address these, this paper proposes an improved triplet neural network-based intrusion detection method for industrial control systems (ICS). The system includes modules for data collection, preprocessing, model construction, training, and real-time detection. By incorporating a self-attention mechanism, the improved model better recognizes complex attack patterns and adapts to new threats. Experimental results show an accuracy of 98.7%, with a significant reduction in false positives and false negatives, enhancing ICS security and providing a new approach for handling future cyberattacks.

Multi-input multi-output (MIMO) control systems are common in many industrial applications, such as reel-to-reel (R2R) systems, process control in distillation columns, robotic manipulators, and flight control. The coupling between plant inputs and outputs makes controller design challenging, especially when selecting controller gains in transfer function-based approach. This paper proposes a simple yet practical method for designing the controller using a decentralized approach based on transfer functions, along with an intuitive gain-tuning procedure. Unlike state-of-the-art methods, this approach does not require solving complex optimization problems. It is also generalizable to any MIMO control system. The controller design approach simplifies the MIMO system by shaping the open-loop transfer function into a triangular form, allowing it to be treated as a set of individual SISO systems. Each SISO system is influenced by a specific level of internal disturbance. These disturbances are associated with the dynamics of the actuators controlling the control variables, and therefore can be modeled based on the knowledge of the actuator dynamics. This makes controller design and gain tuning simpler compared to the complex algorithms used in the literature. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated by its implementation on a $2\times 2$ R2R system hardware. Finally, the stability and robustness of the designed control system are experimentally assessed and various stability margins are obtained.
