This paper mainly deals with the primary distribution networks of power distribution networks of power distribution system which have been focused on Monitor, control and maintain equipment in the sub stations to reduce the operating cost. Implementation of Distribution control Centre (DCC) which are being monitored and controlled by SCADA systems. Lagrangian decomposition Model has been proposed to minimize the losses using Distribution automation (DA) facilities in HV/LV substations and on its MV feeders for improving power management of distribution of electricity. The proposed model is solved by Algorithmic approach. Based on the numerical calculations and graphical representations, the electrical losses are minimized for the power system using Distribution automation.

Over recent years there has been an increase in the use of generic computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software packages spread across various application fields. This has created the need for the integration of expertise into CFD software. Expertise can be integrated into CFD software in the form of an Intelligent Knowledge-Based System (IKBS). The advantages of integrating intelligence into generic engineering software are discussed with a special view to software engineering considerations. The software modelling cycle of a typical engineering problem is identified and the respective expertise and user control needed for each modelling phase is shown. The requirements of an IKBS for CFD software are discussed and compared to current practice. The blackboard software architecture is presented. This is shown to be appropriate for the integration of an IKBS into an engineering software package. This is demonstrated through the presentation of the prototype CFD software package FLOWES. Due to the advancements in technology, new and complex techniques are explored and are becoming a common practice. automation systems are prevalent in all application domains whether it is home automation or factory automation. This paper presents the design and development of a Laboratory automation and Resource Management System (LARMS). The developed system consists of heterogeneous multiprocessor systems connected and communicated to be a part of distributed networked embedded systems. The main features of LARMS are: automatic lab access through bio-metric sensors, real time clock, automatic device control based on the ambient environment conditions and human presence and the central communication controller to supervise and coordinate the entire system functioning. LARMS is implemented using PIC16F877 microcontrollers and ARM7 TDMI controller. The main contribution of the work is the implementation of a power-aware solution for LARMS. The simulation results manifest the energy solutions provided by the proposed automation and resource management system.

In the paper, the problem of modelling and designing of reconfigurable and reusable distributed automation systems is addressed. Such systems are characterized by the distribution of hardware, software, and physical components for the control and automation systems implementation, following the trend to distributed intelligence into the controlled plant and to integrate Information and Communication Technologies into automation systems. Through the help of a case study, the paper investigates advantages and disadvantages of monolithic and distributed design approaches and models, and some available tools and standards are critically compared. A proposal is given of new modelling paradigms able to capture the overall system description, drawn from the on-going European Project TORERO.

Rainfall and river flow are one of the most difficult elements of hydrological cycle to predict. This is due to tremendous range of variability it displays over a wide range of scale both in terms of space and time. The situation is further aggravated by the fact that rainfall-runoff is also very difficult to measure at scales of interest to hydrology and climatologic. computationalintelligence techniques provide efficient and fast results for modelling non-linear and complex data. computationalintelligence methods which inspired by the capability of learning that derive meaning from unknown relationship provide guidance for a sensible decision making. This advantage creates them adaptable and talented methods for modelling real world problems. This paper is an attempt to present the introduction to computationalintelligence methods;applications to river flow modelling and its performance with regards to the parameter and method used. The methods include artificial neural networks, fuzzy logic, evolutionary computation, support vector machine;swarm intelligence and hybrid method are critically compared mainly on computational results and prediction accuracy.
