In recent years, technology presenting views using cameras and sensors has been promoted in aircraft and automobiles. Since sudden vision loss can occur in the event of a malfunction, concerns exist not only about the effects of the loss itself but also about psychological effects such as pilots' or drivers' upset or mental strain. Although studies have been conducted from a performance perspective, no studies have examined the psychological effects of vision loss. Therefore, in this study we assessed the psychological effects of vision loss for the reliability design of windowless cockpits while considering human factors. We used a simulator experiment involving controlling the altitude and attitude of an aircraft to examine the psychological effects of various ranges and duration of loss. Our results showed that the psychological effects of the range of loss were significant, and these were not significantly affected by whether vision was restored. Therefore, once vision loss occurs, even if for a short duration, psychological effects follow. In addition, the range of one-third or less for forward field of view vision loss may be acceptable, and thus, designing system partitioning and other aspects using this value may lead to improved reliability.

system identification plays a crucial role in modern control techniques, enabling the data-driven learning of input-output maps or mathematical models. However, practical applications face challenges as the actual number of states is often unknown, and observed variables may be limited. Additionally, unstable systems present further difficulties, as their outputs rapidly diverge or saturate, hindering long-term measurement. This paper addresses these challenges by proposing a novel input-aware modeling method for unstable linear systems using data-driven Koopman analysis. Unlike traditional Koopman analysis which focuses solely on state dynamics, our method explicitly incorporates the influence of the input function u(t). This enables us to accurately capture the complete behavior of the system, even under the influence of external control signals. By leveraging Koopman operator theory on augmented state-input data, we capture both the intrinsic dynamics and the sensitivity to external control, crucial for accurate prediction and control of unstable systems. This input-aware approach extends the capabilities of data-driven Koopman analysis to improve modeling and control of complex unstable systems in various applications.

In this paper, the previously described Use-Case-Dependent modeling Approach is evaluated and its usefulness for grid simulation is explored. One of the main merits of the approach is its application in automated system analysis. Previous results also suggest a reduced usage of computing resources. This however has not yet been systematically tested and properly verified. Therefore, to inspect the validity of this approach, the methodology is explained and simulation results are compared to measurements of the modeled DC system. It is shown that the grid models adequately represent the system's behavior and the simulation results can therefore be used for system analysis. Discrepancies can be explained by an insufficient modeling of the measured system's damping elements. These differences are however small enough to be mitigated by usually applied error margins, especially for system stability analysis. Although more work is required for full verification, the validity and versatility of the approach is demonstrated.
