Secure and efficient multi-user access mechanisms are increasingly important for the growing number of Internet of Things (IoT) devices being used today. Kerberos is a well-known and time-tried security authentication and access control system for distributed systems wherein many users securely access various distributed services. Traditionally, these services are software applications or devices, such as printers. However, Kerberos is not directly suitable for IoT devices due to its relatively heavy-weight protocols and the resource-constrained nature of the devices. This paper presents KESIC, a system that enables efficient and secure multi-user access for IoT devices. KESIC aims to facilitate mutual authentication of IoT devices and users via Kerberos without modifying the latter's protocols. To facilitate that, KESIC includes a special Kerberized service, called IoT Server, that manages access to IoT devices. KESIC presents two protocols for secure and comprehensive multi-user access system for two types of IoT devices: general and severely power constrained. In terms of performance, KESIC consumes approximate to 47 times less memory, and incurs approximate to 135 times lower run-time overhead than Kerberos.

The problem-solving process begins by organizing the information in the context of the problem statement, thinking through the abstract operations necessary to find a solution, and defining the solution. In this study, we propose a learning support method and develop a learning support system that follows this problem-solving process.

Greenhouse agriculture has emerged as a critical component in addressing global food security challenges, experiencing rapid growth and technological integration in recent years. This paper presents GreenSight, an IoT-based automated greenhouse monitoring system designed to optimize plant growth conditions while enhancing operational efficiency. Leveraging advanced technologies such as the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller and DHT22 sensor, GreenSight facilitates real-time environmental monitoring and control within the greenhouse environment. The system incorporates actuators including SG90 servo motors, 9V DC motors, and mist atomizers to regulate atmospheric conditions tailored to diverse plant species' requirements. Additionally, a user-friendly Android application enables remote access and configuration. Ten (10) experts specializing in information technology and computer engineering assessed the prototype using ISO 9126 evaluation criteria. The Likert Scale was employed for interpretation. According to the evaluation, the project attained an overall mean of 3.32, indicating that it satisfies requirements concerning functionality, reliability, efficiency, usability, maintainability, and portability.

This paper introduces a modified simulated annealing algorithm to study the solar helioscope field optimization problem. The algorithm combines adaptive adjustment, multi-start, and local search techniques to maximize system energy efficiency. Through flexible tuning of parameters and multiple runs, the optimal solution is found to maximize the output power.
