While digital libraries offer essential benefits for the digital age such as constant availability and accessibility, they often fail in providing a similarly enjoyable browsing experience that benefits engagement and serendipitous exploration inherent to traditional library experiences. In this paper, we propose a virtual reality (VR) library environment that emulates a traditional library promoting an engaging browsing experience that benefits browsing enjoyment and serendipity. The implemented system uses procedural content generation to dynamically generate a library-like environment, wherein each room corresponds to a specific category of the digital library. To assess the usability of the implemented system, we conducted an A/B study comparing the VR environment with the web interface of Project Gutenberg. The results of the study suggest that while the physical demand for using the VR environment is higher, the system can significantly benefit the browsing experience and entice users' curiosity. Furthermore, the study suggests that the system can increase user engagement and users generally felt that using the system was rewarding.

In healthcare facilities, data is collected and stored for traceability and subsequent use. The objective of this work is to develop an application for data collection and analysis in maxillofacial surgery. After a preliminary study on the needs. We used the UML language (Unified modeling Language) to model the system. The 2TUP (Two Tracks Unified Process) process was used for analysis and design. The database created was implemented in Microsoft Access;Power BI was used for statistical analysis and data visualization. We have developed an Access data collection application and a Power BI application allowing easy and reliable visualization of the activity balance. Five hundred and fifty-eight (558) scanned patient records. Average age 30.44. Sex ratio 3.20 in favor of men. 419 patients consulted in emergency. Traumatic pathologies were more frequent 69.89%. 410 patients were operated on, 547 patients were satisfied with the surgical results. 3 theses were realized with the database. Our solution allows you to store, manage, share, and make statistical analyses dynamically and instantly of patient data in maxillofacial surgery and stomatology. The results have improved medical information management, clinical decision-making, and care planning.

The use of IoT systems in industrial environments provides tremendous benefits and economic value leading to an exponential rise in their adoption. Their extended use, however, does not come without concerns related to potential security threats, thereby creating an obstacle in their further use in the field. To address these security concerns, we introduce a specialized Industrial Intrusion Detection system (I2DS). Our proposed system merges the capabilities of deep learning (DL) with FPGA-based hardware acceleration techniques, enabling it to detect subtle anomalies and potential cyber threats that may evade conventional rule-based intrusion detection systems (IDS) in an effective way. More specifically, by implementing the system on FPGA hardware, we achieve low-latency, high-throughput processing of network traffic, essential for real-time intrusion detection in industrial settings. Our architecture is scalable and can be adapted according to network bandwidth requirements, while remaining lightweight, making it an ideal solution for the stringent resource constraints often encountered in IoT environments. The proposed solution has been validated with the modbus TON-IoT dataset, achieving up to two orders of magnitude higher performance compared to a software equivalent implementation.
