Due to the low-level image features it utilizes, the semantic gap problem is hard to bridge and performance of CBIR systems is still far away from users' expectation. Image annotation, region-based image retrieval and relevance feedback are three main approaches for narrowing the "semantic gap". In this paper, recent development in these fields are reviewed and some future directions are proposed in the end.

The supersonic combustion chamber with Shuttle-type cavity was investigated numerically and experimentally. The symmetry of Shuttle-type cavity is discussed in this paper. Results show that the symmetry is determined by the number of low-pressure centre area. Mach number of main flow is the key factor that determines the symmetrical characteristic of Shuttle-type cavity flow field and the critical Mach number is 1.6 in our calculation condition.

This paper mainly introduces Process control comprehensive Experimental System Based on MCGS. The system is a small distributedcontrol system. The host computer with Monitor and control Generated System (MCGS) completes the simulating and monitoring of the controlled objects. And by RS-232/RS-485, it communicates with the slave computer which is made of Siemens PLC (S7-200). The real-time detected and controlled objects are temperature, pressure, liquid level and flow. The collected data are treated and some data of them are calculated by the way of PID operation in accordance with the specific requirements which results will control the actions of actuators. And in addition, the system can be easily combined into a variety of chemical experiments according to different needs. This paper integrated the idea of "configuration" in the industry control software, developed the "flexible" network-based online monitoring and fault diagnosis system. The network topology, configuration module, database, data acquisition workstation and monitoring components were presented. With the smart data acquisition strategy and strong adaptive monitoring tools, the system can be applied on kinds of rotating machinery, and the practical application of the system was introduced.

We construct a content based junk image filter system to resolve this problem. We use kernel based KNN to clustered the image searched by the Google into multiple classes by its vision feature, then use hyperbolic technique to display the image sampled from the clustered image, when user selected the image wanted, save the images which class equal to the image selected and filter out others.

A distributedcontrol system for humanoid robot BHBIP is proposed, which combines three layers including main control layer, communication layer and actuating layer. The main control layer is core of control system, dealing with gait generation, decision making and human-robot interface. The communication layer serves as a bridge between main control layer and actuating layer. Meanwhile, the actuating layer is responsible for servo control of joint motor and sensor information collection. Though walking experiment, the effectiveness of proposed distributedcontrol system is confirmed that BHBIP maintained the stable locomotion on outdoor environment.

A combined "acceleration feed forward plus PID" control method is introduced to control the linear motor guided by air-bearing. The key technique of feed forward control system-obtaining the exact feed forward coefficient is proposed, with which high positioning accuracy and high moving speed are achieved. A series of novel RuO 2 /Ti electrodes were prepared by doping Pd, Co, Si elements into surface layer and introducing Sn-Sb coating as intermediate layer. Compared with RuO 2 /Ti electrode, these modified electrodes showed better electro-chemical properties and longer service-life. The doped elements had different effects on the electro-catalytic properties and service-life. The different modified electrodes was used in Nitrobenzene (NB) wastewater treatment, the results showed that the modified electrodes, especially the electrodes with intermediate layers could effectively remove the organic pollutants in wastewater.

Lateral moving-electrode type electric field (LMEF) was a new upgrading technique for electrostatic precipitator (ESP) and obtained excellent effect in application for its advanced mechanism, feasibility and economic. Modeling on the ESP of Hebei Iron &Steel Group, this paper has numerically simulated the effect of LMEF on resistance and airflow distribution of the ESP. The results indicated that LMEF has almost no influence upon resistance increasing but market effect on airflow distribution.
