Helianum annuus L., Artemisia scoparia, Zinnia elegans and Tagetes patula L. were introduced to study cadmium (Cd) accumulation. Cd accumulation in different organs and its relationship with transpiration were investigated in aqueous Hoagland medium contained 0.1 mgL -1 cadmium. The results showed that younger leaves exhibited higher Cd concentration than older leaves in all the plants. The efficiency of Cd shoot uptake was very different from each other in the four experimental plants. For Helianum annuus L., the efficiency was below 1; for Artemisia scoparia, it was about 1; for Zinnia elegans and Tagetes patula L., it was larger than 1. The results suggested that the contribution of transpiration to Cd shoot accumulation was different in different plants. Probably shoot Cd accumulation was not only dependent on transpiration in some plants. Water transport in Tagetes erecta L. was studied using Hydrogen stable isotope technology, there was no significant difference in water need between younger leaves and older. Thus, it is assumed that Cd uptake is not totally driven by transpiration.

With the rapid development of internet technology, e-mail is becoming a popular, convenient, economical way of communication. At the same time, the spam is flooding the internet. To solve this problem, the e-mail filtering technology based on e-mail gateway is widely used but mail gateway is apart from mail server and cannot get the mail account which is in the mail server, so the e-mail filtering products based on e-mail gateway always has no efficient way to manage mail account. This paper provides a new method to maintain mail account information for mail gateway. This method not only manages mail account from a number of different mail servers, but also filters the e-mail whose destination address is not existent. So the technology proposed in this paper can reduce the burden on the e-mail network.

In order to forecast the integrated load model of substation with a certain random time variation character and increase the accuracy of forecasting, this article put forward a forecasting method of electrical consumption proportion of different industries in substation based on the daily load curve. First of all, load sequence is decomposed into a number of different frequency stationary components by using EMD, according to the variation of the components, select the appropriate SVM parameter and support vector machine with different kernel function construction to forecast separately, and get the load curve forecasting value combined from each forecasted value by SVM. Then, classify the attributive for each industry and combine the industry equivalent daily load curve by using the fuzzy C means clustering principle. Finally, structure the related relation with the forecasted load curve, namely that obtain the final forecasted industry electrical consumption proportion in substation industry through the normalized projection of forecasted load curve calculated by industry typical feature vector. Refer to the simulation result, there are strong generalization ability and high precision for this method.

The programme of work being developed in the University of Glamorgan defines a networked, wireless ambient data acquisition environment that serves as real world Ambient intelligent Environment (AIE) test bed. Its objective is the classification and integration of the data into a knowledge based intelligent system to provide the mechanism of ubiquitous computing. This paper presents a framework in which those ideas can be applied and tested in a distributed architecture that will facilitate invasive observation and even a level of supervision through pervasive and intelligent supervisor interventions. Initial work that has been undertaken has attempted to infer the emotional state of an individual within a monitored ambient intelligent environment and these early findings are presented as an indicator of the potential of the architecture being developed. The knowledge abstraction mechanism and classification techniques focus on the use of fuzzy logic methodology where a non-intrusive intelligent learning and adaptation agent that could be embedded in Ambient intelligent Environments will be discussed. For large scale wireless sensor networks, it is a fundamental challenge to extend the lifetime when the energy supply is limited. In this paper, we proposed a random-based wireless sensor network model which composed of sensor nodes and relay nodes as region heads upgraded from sensor nodes. In order to maximize the network lifetime, we present this optimal placement of relay nodes problem with a spin-glass model of minimal upgrading set of wireless sensor network with random-graph topology. By introducing the concept of interactive core, we study the statistical approach to estimate the solutions of the objective problem such that the maximal network lifetime can be achieved. As a further study of this model, we propose, from the theoretical point of view, a scheme to determine the key relay nodes while the minimum number of relay nodes has been determined by the first step. Our results show that the strategy to deal with the maximum lifetime problem of two-tied network model for large scale case from statistical physics can be help to design more efficient wireless sensor networks with random located sensors.

At the temperature and pressure of reservoirs, the effect of steam saturation, foaming agent concentration, temperature and steam quality on rheological properties of foam oil system in steam flooding zone was studied, with shear rate varying from 0 to 600 s -1 ; Meanwhile, the effect of superheated water saturation, foaming agent concentration and temperature on rheological properties of superheated water oil system in superheated water flooding zone was studied when the shear rate ranged from 0 to 100 s -1 . The result shows that foam oil system and superheated water oil system were both pseudoplastic fluids and can be described by power law model. The non-newtonian behavior of foam oil system increases with the increasing of steam saturation and foaming agent concentration and decreases with the increasing of steam quality and temperature. The non-newtonian behavior of superheated water oil system increases with the increasing of foaming agent concentration and decreases with the increasing of superheated water saturation and temperature. At lower shear rate, the apparent viscosity of foam oil system and superheated water oil system is more dependent on temperature, which fits more into the Arrhenius Equation.

To realize the efficient and stable real-time monitoring and intelligent management of the urban public lighting, the remote monitoring system is developed. The system is composed of monitoring center and monitoring terminals, and realizes network connection via the advanced remote wireless communication technology GPRS. It uses TI Company's MSP430 processor chip as the monitoring terminal controller, which integrates automatic control, data acquisition, communication and other technologies and has such functions as monitoring, remote control, anti-electricity theft, remote meter reading and communication. It's proved by practice that the designed controller features reliable running, sound real-time performance and low cost, and has a broad and bright application prospect. The monitoring and management of public lighting is a typical sector and important part of the civil work. A regenerative braking system, which could restore kinetic energy and potential energy to a battery or any other forms of power during braking, is a special system for electric and hybrid electric vehicles. However, the large current produced by the generator during braking would affect battery performance and shorten battery life. A hybrid-power system is an excellent energy storage system, in which an ultra-capacitor bank and a battery pack are connected together through a DC/DC power converter. And the ultra-capacitor in this system can store instantaneous large currents quickly, which is able to protect the battery from large currents. The application advantages of the hybrid-power system are analyzed in this paper, as well as a series control strategy for regenerative braking based on it. In order to verify the feasibility of the strategy, a braking force distribution model, which contains one S-Function, between mechanical and regenerative braking is built in MATLAB/Simulink by taking into account the ultra-capacitor voltage, the motor regenerative braking ability and other factors. Simulation results suggest that the ultra-capacitor is able to restore the regenerative energy very quickly, which will improve starting and acceleration performance, extend driving range, and increase fuel economy.
