It is a challenge technique to capture and storage CO2 by hydrate crystallization. In order to increase the hydrate formation rate and decrease the energy consumption, the effect of different stirring times on CO2 hydrate formation was carried out experimentally in a small scale reactor. The results showed that the stirring could improve the CO2 gas dissolution rate effectively during the hydrate formation process. CO 2 gas reached dissolution saturation in only three minutes with the stirring rate of 250r/min, while this process required about 100 minutes without stirring. In addition, it was found that stirring is extremely favorable for the hydrate formation when it occurs during the temperature cooling down process. With 40-munite stirring in the temperature cooling down process, the hydrate formation showed almost the same effect to that introduced by 200 minutes stirring, and the energy consumption was reduced significantly. © 2011 IEEE.

Water quality and temperature have important influences on energy efficiency of Lakes Water Source Heat Pump (LWSHP) systems. The characteristics of lake, especial spatial and temporal distribution features, must be obtained in order to take high quality water. By one year's monitoring for quality and temperature of Caiyun lake in Chongqing, the results show that average monthly temperature was 26∼30°C in summer, 11∼15°C in winter. Caiyun Lake water has obvious vertical stratification in summer, while no such phenomenon was found in winter. pH value, turbidity and chlorophyll a also have obvious characteristics in vertical distribution, while hardness and salinity have little characteristics. Lakes water in Chongqing is a hot and cold water source of Water Source Heat Pump (WSHP) of high quality. Water intake head should be installed in the middle and lower layer of the lake, the main problem of water quality is to remove algae and scale inhibition. © 2011 IEEE.

Eight measures of soil and water conservation (SWC) have successfully carried out for developing sustainable agriculture systems in hilly red soil region in southeast China since 2000. Economical, ecological and social benefits are assessed in this study to determine efficiency of these measures. All measures have shown a positive net present value of direct benefits in the computing period when an interest rate 10% used. And an evaluation system for comparing efficiencies of these measures have been built, indictors such us economical effects, payback period time, changes in soil erosion rates, nutrient content, microclimate, and social benefits are recommended. Forest enclosure, embankments, and biomass pools are the most economically measures with a short payback period while low efficiency forest reform, fruit trees planting and shifting slope to terrace measures had remarkable effects on reducing soil erosion and protecting soil and water resource, pear trees can be replaced by other cash crops to avoid long payback period. © 2011 IEEE.

The water supply system is running an important part of the permanent ship lock. And its lining concrete is a thin-walled structure, which has high standards, and its temperature control work is more complicated. In order to investigate the variation of the temperature and stress of the lining concrete, we have done the in situ monitoring in the test section. This paper describes the situation of the arrangement of in situ monitoring dot .we have monitored a certain period of temperature and stress, analysised the variation of temperature and stress of its surface and interior, which supplys reference of the thin lining concrete and has important practical significance. © 2011 IEEE.

This study dealed with the distribution and the origin of trace elements (Co, Cd, Mn, Ni, Zn, Tl and Pb) in two soil profiles from a site near a plant roasting pyrite for sulfuric acid production. Chemical partitioning of the trace elements showed that Tl and Pb in each individual extractable fraction (i.e. weak acid exchangeable, reducible and oxidizable) presented increasing trend upward through the depth in both profiles. Meanwhile, Co, Cd, Mn, Ni and Zn in all the above fractions revealed no general consistent trend across the depth. Results of the profile distribution of heavy metals in the chemical fractions combined with the principle component analysis indicated that the contamination of Tl and Pb is mainly from the percolation of pyrite slag particles in the studied soils, while the contamination of Co, Cd, Mn, Ni and Zn is predominantly due to the leaching of wastewaters in the soils. © 2011 IEEE.

During the combustion of straw, the formation of deposition, which destines to furnace erosion and exerts great influence on safety operation, on heating surface is affected by many factors. This paper studies influences of straw shape on the formation of deposits. Results are as follows: The shape change of fuel affects the process of fuel combustion, accordingly, it affects the formation law and properties of deposits: first, The change rule of deposition rate is different from the combustion of native straw;second, the deposition rate and amount are significantly lower than that produced by the native straw;at last, the shape of fuel has an important influence on the characteristics and composition of deposits: in fifteen minutes, the deposits are made up of black carbon, gray-black, feel smooth and are scattered;after an hour, the deposits are silver-gray, feel rough and are bonded together to form massive particles, whose surface was glassy and sintering phenomenon. The amount of alkali metal escaping from fuel increases with the furnace temperature rising, in addition, the shape of fuel is also conducive to form low melting point eutectic of alkali metal and SiO2. © 2011 IEEE.

Biogas yields and methane productivity were studied at different temperatures (15°C, 20°C, 25°C, 30°C and 35°C) by the way of anaerobic fermentation experiment which take swine manure as biogas fermentation raw material, and take the sediment from rural methane fermentation as inoculate matter. The results indicated that temperature affected the material consumption time, the higher temperature, the faster material consumption, and then, fermentation period was become shorter too. However, more gaseous impurities were produced when anaerobic fermentation temperature increased relatively. Temperature of anaerobic fermentation had a great influence on methane production. Low temperature goes against the production of methane. Biogas yield and methane yield can ascend to the peak quickly at high anaerobic fermentation temperature. Taking into account production efficiency and the quality of digestion, temperature condition of 30 and fermentation period of 31d °C in swine manure anaerobic fermentation are suitable for large scale farms. © 2011 IEEE.

Treatment of printing and dyeing wastewater by the device of high gradient magnetic separation (HGMS) developed by author was tested. The results showed that printing and dyeing wastewater contained varied chemical composition and whose initial concentration of chromaticity and COD were 800 and 565mg/L respectively can be well cleaned by Fenton oxidation-magnetic seed coagulation-HGMS. The removal rate of chromaticity and COD was up to 92.6% and 79.5% respectively. The effluent can meet the national drainage criterion. The optimum technological parameters are as follows: pH=6, [FeSO4· 7H2O]=250mg/L, [H2O2]=1.3ml/L, [PAM]=0.75 mg/L, dose of magnetic particle W=150mg/L,current intensity I=8A, current velocity U=2.420L/min, packing density of stainless steel wire R=1.00%-1.43%. Recovery rate of magnetic particle was up to 90% by regenerated technique of chemistry in combination with physics. © 2011 IEEE.

The concentrated leachate of the Chengdu Leachate Treatment Plant was collected as a subject of case study. It was a very dark coloured liquid possessing high COD, very low BOD5 and low ammonia nitrogen concentration. The combination of coagulation and fly ash absorption was used to treat the concentrated leachate in this study. The effects of pH, coagulant dosage and settling time on COD removal in coagulation process were investigated by single-factor and orthogonal experiments. Results showed that the optimum value was approximately pH 5, aluminium sulfate dosage 1.5g and settling time 50min. The influence of operating factors followed the order: coagulant dosage >pH > settling time. Fly ash absorption experiments were performed after finishing the surface modification of fly ash in acid condition. The effects of pH, fly ash dosage and stirring time on COD removal were also studied by single-factor. Results showed that the optimum value was about pH 5, fly ash dosage 2.5g and stirring time 2.5h. After finishing the final step of fly ash absorption, the overall removal rate of COD was above 80%. © 2011 IEEE.
