WSNs are a system of spatially distributed sensors that sense some environmental phenomena and communicate the information without wires to a central system. Now, integration with the IoT further strengthens WSNs in aspects such as real-time data collection, analysis, and decision making across diverse network applications, fueling innovation in smart environments. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are normally groups of sensors that gather information about their surroundings and transmit it to the main system without the use of wires. The role of the Internet of Things in WSN is to provide an avenue through which the data from the sensors can be shared in real-time, hence making smart systems efficient and responsive This paper present a qualitative research paradigm where systematic literature survey has been conducted on many articles in which IoT based WSN articles published in the last five years along with a qualitative analysis of performance indicators of 20 real-world IoT-enhanced WSNs. The findings reveal that IoT integration significantly improves WSN capabilities in three key areas: It has achieved (1) network longevity, which is a 40% increase in overall sensor lifespan; (2) data accuracy, with the observation that it has cut down on false positives by 25%; and (3) real-time responsiveness, which has proven to have truncated the delay in data transmission by 60%. Nevertheless, we also pinpoint the threats in the security and privacy domains, where 75% of investigated systems are vulnerable to cyber threats. The researchers establish that IoT greatly accelerates the WSN applications in smart city and environment monitoring, but this comes with the need to enforce better security and standardized procedures for optimal use of IoT in achieving the WSN application goals. This research therefore offers a systematic map for researchers and practitioners to foster the integration of IoT in WSN applications towards intelligent and reliable sensor networks in the

Banana agriculture in Egypt faces many challenges due to global climate change and a lack of water resources. The requirement for reliable and optimized irrigation techniques is vital in light of the current severe weather conditions and water resources. So, a new concept introduced is smart agriculture, in which IoT sensor networks afford information about agriculture fields and make precise decisions based on user inputs and sensor readings. In this paper, a novel solar-powered IoT intelligent autonomous agricultural monitoring system is proposed that benefits from advances in the latest developed technologies such as IoT, microcontrollers, and Wireless Sensor Networks. The proposed system’s main goal is to use evolving technology for monitoring environmental conditions to enhance the efficiency of crops. The proposed system can monitor humidity, temperature, and soil moisture, which will impact the efficiency and farming cost of banana crops, by maintaining controlled sensors with microcontroller boards that have inferior power dissipation to establish a wireless sensor network that has an irrigation unit working autonomously to take actions either to irrigate the farm or not based on pre-programmed water level thresholds. The proposed system is most likely suitable due to savings in water consumption, powering by harvesting solar energy, and low construction costs.

With the rapid development of modern industry, productive dust is almost everywhere in factories, becoming a major hidden danger to industrial production safety. This project will realize real-time monitoring of factory dust, automatic dust removal, and human-computer interaction. Users can set the dust concentration threshold by themselves. The sensor will monitor the dust concentration in real time and upload the processed data to the cloud platform. If it exceeds the preset Threshold value, the nearby dust removal equipment is activated to remove dust in time. In this paper, for the monitoring and dust removal control of dust concentration in the air, the ladder distributed algorithm is used to save energy under the premise of achieving the dust removal function. © 2021 Institute of Physics Publishing. Low-carbon economy has become the focus of global development, and the concept of environmental protection has become increasingly popular. As a high-tech industry, LED green lighting not only represents the future development direction of green lighting, but also sets an example in environmental protection and energy saving. The article introduces a wireless monitoring system that Kingsun Optoelectronics uses the latest ZigBee and GPRS technologies for LED street lights. The real-time data in the street lamp controller of the system is transmitted to the cloud server through the data concentrator through the ZigBee node, and the cloud server processes the data and distributes it to the corresponding monitoring terminal. At the same time, the remote control of each wind and solar complementary street lamp can also be realized through each terminal. Experiments have proved that the system realizes the intelligent management and monitoring of street lights based on saving electric energy and ensuring the reliability of lighting. The use of this system can realize the monitoring of all street lights without leaving the house, and finally realize the low-carbon economy and sustainable development of urban lighting. © 2021 Institute of Physics Publishing. For every researcher, uncertainties connected to the Smart Grid and Distribution Network are a common element. Thousands of sources are part of the renewable energy system and they are situated at varying distances. In due course, certain sources may be inefficient, or a natural disaster can destroy the source causing power supply failures or require routine maintenance to improve service. Some of these defects grow slowly and some have a strong impact. The systems, however, contain safety components to remove the problem, but impact the generation of electricity and conduct intelligent grid errors. An intelligent microgrid should feature an intelligent fault location detection and fault removal device to avoid unwanted loads and insecurities. This research shaped a smart grid system, together with a defective technique to identify uncertainty efficiently. The originality of this research is to model an SMG based on an isolated small area's SGC mechanism in conjunction with a defective detecting system to manage uncertainties in an efficient way. The FLD technique is focused upon wavelet trigger signal and mathematical morphology method. In this approach, the wavelet activator signal created by the equivalent current or voltage for a short period of time is simulated to go to both terminals to determine that the fault takes place in the short branch using the mathematical morphological technique. The SMG modeled system is separated into a few branches for the FLD system. A smart technique is presented via mixed human machine interface (HMI) for SMG performance and FLD monitoring. The integrated process of the SMG system modeling in the MATLAB performance validation simulation platform. © 2021 IEEE.

A Smart Grid (SG) is an electrical infrastructure much like legacy power grid with scalable and pervasive two-way communications, timely control capabilities, large scale integration of distributed resources and efficient use of resources. The SG provides the features of pervasive smart monitoring technologies, automatic equipment fault sensing and self-healing. The features like 'Wireless Automatic Meter Reading' (WAMR), monitoring of power system stability, distributed energy resources optimization and applications of Demand Response system makes it intelligent infrastructure. Given some of these salient features, SGs without any doubt are the future power infrastructure of energy world. A smart grid has ability to connect millions of consumers and devices in a network which demand it to be highly robust, reliable and secure. Security is considered as one of the major challenges in the present-day smart grid systems because of its long-range communication on open networks. Cybercriminals, hackers, terrorists are trying to attack this national infrastructure due to their malicious intensions or to get control on the automated energy monitoring and remote controlling for personal gains. This review paper offers a comprehensive survey of understanding of Smart Grids, architecture of SGs, methodologies used, the communication protocols but the focus is mainly on the cyber-attacks carried out and solutions recommended on the smart grids. We finally discuss the various challenges in cyber security, the issues that still exist in the literature and current solution space with future research gap. © 2021 IEEE.

The paper considers the importance of expanding the possibilities of environmental monitoring of environmental air parameters in the event of man-made emergencies. Software and hardware solutions have been developed for visualization and analysis of data from public environmental monitoring systems in normal and emergency situations using Power BI and Vaisala devices. The integration of various subsystems for measuring atmospheric air and microclimate indicators in a single computer system with a single software interface was carried out.

Modern intelligent transportation systems and autonomous driving technologies are quite helpful in light of the population's increasing growth, and they work particularly well when used in conjunction with traffic sign monitoring. By giving drivers accurate and exact traffic signals, such as speed limits, warnings, and directional assistance, this makes transportation much safer. Autonomous vehicles must correctly understand these indicators in order to make wise driving judgments. Accurately identifying and classifying a wide variety of traffic signs in a range of environmental circumstances is a difficulty. A cutting-edge deep learning model created specifically for object recognition tasks is called YOLOv9 (You Only Look Once version 9). In addition to offering respectable speed and accuracy, YOLOv9 expands on the advantages of its predecessors by implementing cutting-edge strategies such as PGI and GELAN. Because of these improvements, YOLOv9 is especially ideal for real-time applications like recognition of traffic signs, where more accuracy and quick and accurate object identification are essential. With an increased accuracy the results demonstrate the model's stability and dependability and show that it is appropriate for real-world uses in autonomous driving and traffic control. Subsequent investigations will concentrate on improving resilience in various situations, utilizing semi-supervised learning, creating more resource-efficient models, broadening the range of datasets, and combining traffic sign recognition with additional autonomous driving tasks. The development of dependable and effective traffic sign detection systems is furthered by this work.

The growing interest in biodiversity and conservation has heightened the need for accurate and efficient bird species recognition. This is because bird populations, their distribution, migration patterns, and environmental impact assessments can benefit from the valuable data these recognition methods provide. To address the complex task of manual bird species classification, this research paper presents a transfer learning approach based on MobileNetV2. The proposed solution uses MobileNetV2 to categorize bird species in photographs, achieving 96.79% accuracy on a defined dataset. This work highlights the potential of transfer learning in solving complex recognition tasks and the efficiency of MobileNetV2 in achieving high accuracy despite its lightweight design. The method has real-world applications, including real-time bird identification systems and bird population monitoring, and will become more valuable with advancements in hardware and deep learning. To improve the overall system’s accuracy even further, using a larger dataset, scheduling regular retraining sessions and further fine-tuning the model is suggested. In this study, the model is trained separately on two different datasets. The first dataset contains around 1800 images with 200 types of bird species. The second dataset contains around 180 images with 20 types of bird species, specifically South Indian bird species. The attained accuracy with the first dataset is 90.91% and the attained accuracy with the second dataset is 96.79%.

The proposed prototype of a fish tank maintenance automation system intends to support aquarists in terms of easy up keep of the fish tank. Keeping a household fish tank is associated with significant health benefits including lessening stress, sleep quality improvement, lowered blood pressure, intense focus, and soothing effects for Alzheimer’s patients, etc. A predominant part of keeping fish healthy is ensuring that their habitat remains healthy. As part of the routine maintenance of a fishtank some of the vital parameters that are to be keenly assessed are nitrate, nitrite, pH, carbonate hardness, salinity, etc. Since fish live in entirely diverse environments compared to humans and other pets, they are dependent on humans for all their necessities including food, water, and proper habitat. Fish tanks are relatively different from natural habitat since they are closed systems with a limited capacity of water. Thus, the entire process of the natural method of cleaning a water body has to be performed manually in the fish tank in addition to cleaning the wastes produced regularly by fish such as sediments, sludge, etc. Therefore, to ease aquarists towards maintaining fish tanks, this paper proposes an automation system using IoT technology and also guards environmental sustainability. If the observed data such as pH, temperature, and dissolved oxygen are beyond the threshold limits then the attached beeper will be aware of the aquarists to instant care of the fish tank. The live data is provided through a web-based application and Mobile app for real-time monitoring and decision-making.
