Water is one of the most important resources nowadays, which is why a good management can bring multiple benefits in modern society. With the continuous increase of water consumption, there is significant research regarding the efficiency of water control and monitoring process, in order to make optimal decisions for the proper functioning of a healthy eco-system. In the current paper we present a system that uses a water distribution network to evaluate the integration of modern concepts in a smart, secure and distributed approach for consumer demand monitoring. An IoT architecture is used for collecting data from smart meters, with push-based data exchange and reactive programming patterns. The network is integrated with a blockchain solution developed using Hyperledger Fabric to ensure an additional layer of security and transparency, while being used as an audit tool as well as data provider for decision support systems.

The issues of the Low-Earth-orbit (LEO) Internet of Things (IoT) Satellite System construction based on the distributed Satellite architecture and the Fog Computing concept application have been considered. There are shown the principles of the Orbital Segment of the LEO Internet of Things Satellite System constructing, the principle of distributed satellite using micro-satellite and cube-sat development, the method of distributed satellite service area continuous service area of the Internet of Things Satellite System creation. For the Fog Computing realization, Satellite-computers are comprised into each distributed Satellite. Satellite-computers form the Orbital distributed Computing Network. The distributed Localized Database has been proposed to be placed on the basis of the Orbital distributed Computing Network. The Generalized Database Structure and its Conservative and Operational parts purpose were defined. Data transfer directivity through the Orbital Segment of the LEO IoT Satellite System was considered for the Localized Database Operational part update and for the Computational Load balancing through the Orbital distributed Computing Network. Platooning shows the potential to increase the efficiency and safety of future road traffic. Many researches illustrate its efficiency in highway scenarios where it is restricted to one lane. However, the biggest challenges lies in urban environments. Indeed, they are characterized by low-speed limits, intersections, traffic lights, buildings, vulnerable users..etc. We propose in this paper an Edge Cloud Vehicle-to-everything (V2X) architecture for full dynamic Platoon management in urban environments. We describe in this paper the overall phases of a Platoon, while considering the Cooperative Adaptive Cruise control (C-ACC) function and the traffic light intersection. We focused in this paper on two main contributions: First, the V2X exchanges;indeed we created a new type of intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) message called ECEmessages based on the Cooperative-ITS (C-ITS) message structure as Cooperative Awareness Message (CAM), Decentralized environmental Notification Message (DENM), Signal Phase and Timing (SPAT), and Map message (MAP). Then, in order to test the effectiveness of our proposal, we used the Gazebo ROS simulator. We performed the performance evaluations of the proposal by providing a mapping between the importance of the V2X communications, which is measured in terms of latency and reliability, and of the platoon, which is measured in terms of achievable inter-distance between vehicles.

Unmanned Aircraft Vehicles (UAVs) have gained immense popularity for area coverage having applications such as environmental monitoring, demining, search and rescue, among others. Most of the existing studies exploring area coverage have considered only a single region, however, few recent studies have considered coverage of multiple distributed regions. One of the limitations which UAV suffers while covering distributed multiple regions is energy constraints where complete area coverage is not possible. From a strategical point of view, we propose a novel algorithm which solves a variant of area coverage problem where the UAV aims to achieve near-optimal area coverage due to path length limitation caused by the energy constraint. In this paper, a preliminary study is conducted by first formulating the problem and later on presenting a solution. The solution has been partitioned into two inter-dependent sub-problems: i) inter-region coverage, ii) intra-region coverage. The performance of the algorithm has been evaluated by analysing its properties over an exhaustive set of test case scenarios and comparing it against two state-of-the-art area coverage approaches. © 2021 IEEE.

In order to solve the problem of grid connection and absorption of large-scale photovoltaic power stations, the grid connection scheme of photovoltaic power stations connected to the two-end flexible DC transmission system based on DC voltage, active power and AC voltage control is adopted. Using RTDS simulation software, a DC power distribution system model including a photovoltaic power station and two MMCs was constructed, and the operating characteristics of the system were analyzed in detail. The simulation results show that when the output power of the photovoltaic power station fluctuates or the DC load changes, the system can maintain stable operation. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In the field of aquaculture, numerous studies indicate that traditional fishkeeping faces significant challenges due to the manual maintenance required, leading to inefficiencies such as inconsistent cleaning, feeding, and water quality management, that can be improved by integrating automation and smart technologies. This experimental research, conducted in Metro Manila, Philippines, aims to test and refine the Self-sustaining Fish Tank System. By evaluating the accuracy and effectiveness of integrated sensors and automated components, the study seeks to enhance the system's performance in maintaining optimal aquatic conditions. An experimental research approach was employed, utilizing multiple methods including observation for data collection. Quantitative data analysis using descriptive and paired two-test statistical tools assessed the performance of the Self-sustaining Fish Tank System using Arduino Uno. The study's findings highlighted significant improvements in sensor reliability and consistency during operational tests with and without fish. Specifically, the water level sensor demonstrated enhanced responsiveness during pump activations, while the pH sensor stabilized effectively with fish present. The fish feeder consistently dispensed food every 12 hours, ensuring reliable feeding throughout the study periods. The study concludes that variations in sensor performance, particularly in pH and turbidity measurements, highlight the need for continued refinement to ensure consistent control across different environmental conditions. Future research should explore advanced sensor integration for improved accuracy and reliability, especially for critical parameters like water quality. Additionally, the adoption of IoT-based solutions with wireless modules is recommended for enhanced real-time monitoring and remote control via mobile apps or web interfaces.

Internet of Things (IoT) integrated smart home automation systems use sensor networks and communication modules to extend home energy efficiency, security, and convenience. IoT transforms houses into intelligent environment that are remotely monitored and controlled from anywhere using communication technologies. In this paper, a NodeMCU microcontroller and a variety of sensors, such as a PIR for motion detection, a gas sensor for monitoring hazardous gases, a flame sensor for fire detection, a DHT11 for temperature and humidity sensing, as well as smart locks, lights and fans for environmental control, are used to develop and implement a smart home system. With a user-friendly smartphone interface, the suggested system enables residents to monitor and operate their home appliances remotely in real- time, improving security, comfort, and energy efficiency. A farming method known as aquaponics aims to be a more effective response to the world's worries about food production and scarcity. In order to produce plants or vegetables in addition to fish to meet the rising global demand for food, this technique combines aquaculture (fish farming) and aquaponics (plants grown without soil). This technique or system promises to utilize less water, fertilizer, pesticides, and space while yet producing as much as conventional farming. The challenge is making it more usable and scalable for commercial and public use. To overcome such challenges, this technique must be intelligent and automated by rigorous sensing, monitoring, and system control. Our current research aims to develop a practical smart IoT-based aquaponics system. It offers a workable solution and ideas for further investigation while also looking for gaps in the earlier investigations.

Traditional healthcare systems are based on patients approaching physically to get themselves registered and avail of medical assistance. Also, the voluminous data entry into the centralized databases makes the process slow and insecure. Further, the system is unscalable and limited in nature. There are many instances where rural and remote area citizens were denied access to healthcare facilities due to a lack of technological reach. The advent of IoMT has proved to be a boon to the healthcare industry because they have facilitated Remote Patient monitoring (RPM) to store health information remotely in the form of Digital records or EHRs(Electronic Health Records). These devices are worn or implanted in the patients to get the data regularly and keep their health under scrutiny. However, these devices and the information they store are not secure. They are prone to malignant attacks, unauthorized tampering of health information, loss of vital and private information of the users, etc. Blockchain technology is an excellent solution to problems related to privacy and security, access and modification, control of information, forged information, and scalability. The blockchain offers decentralization of information distributed over a peer-to-peer network and stores data immutably. To a large extent, the problems currently faced in the healthcare industry are significantly mitigated. This paper proposes a smart healthcare system that uses IoMT devices coupled with blockchain in its back end. In addition, we have deployed a decentralized application to connect with patients remotely. We have proposed a method to run and deploy smart contracts using Ethereum and interaction between smart contracts and dApp. The results of the implementations are better than the existing systems regarding the security and privacy of patient data, eliminating intermediary costs while maintaining the quality of service through transparency and interoperability provided by Blockchain.

A traffic blockage in the middle of a commute affects unimpeded commuting. Automobile gridlock is a significant problem in metropolitan cities, and a lack of technology to handle the same makes globetrotting difficult. Under inadequate traffic surveillance, there is a high volume of traffic that causes high traffic congestion. The intelligent Transportation System, robust vehicle tracking, and on-road traffic information systems can help break logjams, thus improving travel. Also, this reduces loopholes in traffic management and creates a positive approach to road mobility. This paper addresses the problem by making use of concepts such as Semantic Web Techniques (SWT), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to resolve traffic congestion. The proposed method involves a simple concept of intelligent road-traffic planning and routing. Moreover, this paper shows the real-time flexibility of the model. The efficiency of more than 90% comes from analyzing a sample of 9,792 vehicles collected from the Kaggle repository.
