In metropolitan cities, outdoor air pollution and ambient outdoor noise transmission are significant environmental hazards, degrading indoor environmental quality. Natural ventilation is often a viable option for diluting indoor air pollutants, but transportation noise transmission is a crucial ecological conflict. Therefore, personal control over the concentration of outdoor/indoor air pollutants and noise levels is a significant threshold for natural ventilation availability. This study proposes real-time data detection and notification solutions using sensors and artificial intelligence (AI) to improve indoor air quality and outdoor air quality and outdoor noise transmission. An intelligent real-time detection and notification system was implemented in a distributed computing framework with cloud and edge computing. The objective of this study is placed on three facets: (1) development of sensors and NVIDIA Jetson Nano prototype for air quality and noise level detection, (2) application of machine learning for air quality and noise level prediction and classification, and (3) web interface for real-time monitoring and prediction for air quality and noise level detection. The results showed that the proposed user interface provides building occupants with real-time data of outdoor/indoor Air Quality Index (AQI) and noise levels for the optimized occupant control over Indoor Air Quality (IAQ). The personal control over indoor environmental quality (IEQ) enables occupants to promote natural ventilation behaviors and integrate with the existing building system on optimized IEQ by interacting with AI-based real-time data.

The article studies the precision management for livestock including breeding, feeding, disease preventing, safety supervision and environmental monitoring. The system based on the wireless mode is developed to monitoring the whole production procedure of livestock. It comprises breeding management, automatic feeding formulation, disease diagnose and prevention, production safety supervision and environmental monitoring subsystems. The study greatly promotes the efficiency of intensive cultivation. Through the practical application in farm, it is proved that the system comprehensive performance is significantly better than the extensive management. © IFIP international Federation for Information Processing 2019.

Aiming at real-time temperature detection and data upload of mining equipment, a distributed remote data monitoring system based on CAN bus is designed. Using the microcontroller STM32, CAN transceiver TJA1050, K-type thermocouple as the intelligent node for on-site temperature acquisition, the data of multiple intelligent nodes is centralized to the control board through the CAN bus network The control board displays the data on the LCD and transmits it to the database remotely via Ethernet or GPRS.

SCADA based wireless online monitoring assessment of building rooms on illuminance, temperature and humidity

In energy saving and management, environmental parameter monitoring is very important role. For supporting them, five monitoring sets were conducted in two buildings. Every set consisted of illuminance, temperature and humidity sensors, which were equipped with a 4-20 mA transmitter each. The transmitter signals entered to the PLC analogue modules and the SCADA installed computer wirelessly. The parameter quantities could be recorded automatically by the computer. The obstructions of building walls could be minimized by using router and repeater installations on some parts of network. Most of the data could be recorded properly. The average temperatures and relative humidity started to rise and decrease in the range of 6:30 until 8:40 a.m. Meanwhile, the average illuminance rose between 5:40 and 6:20 a.m. and disappeared between 5:50 and 7:20 p.m. The rooms were mostly in the warm thermal comfort. In small part of time, the rooms were in the optimal thermal comfort. The warm and optimal comforts occupied 44.4 % and 19.1 % respectively. The rest, 36.5%, exceeded the comforts. Naturally, there was not any room in cool thermal comfort. The illuminance and temperature modelling convexes upward significantly indicated by the negative constants of the quadratic time variable. To meet the standard requirement of 250 lux, the illuminance covered 65.0 %, 6.7 %, 76.7 %, 45.0 %, and 36.7 % of working time for PLC 1 up to PLC 5 respectively. In contrast, the relative humidity modelling convexes downward considerably indicated by the positive constants of the quadratic time variable. This case was also reinforced by the absolute numbers of correlation coefficients among the illuminance, temperature and humidity that were above 0.9. The parameter signals of the third PLC were the most different from the others, because the temperature and the illuminance were very high on the fourth floor. © 2019, ICPE Electra Publishing House. In order to effectively strengthen the monitoring technology of fatigue driving and reduce the incidence of traffic accidents, this paper proposes a new method based on conditional local neural fields algorithm for comprehensive evaluation of fatigue driving state. At present, most of the fatigue driving detection algorithms are based on extracting a single characteristic index, which is strict in environmental requirements and not high in detection. In this paper, the HOG feature is combined with the CLNF algorithm to implement face detection and feature point localization. Then, the EPnP algorithm is used to estimate the head anomaly frequency based on the feature point information, and the blink frequency is calculated according to the EAR eye length aspect ratio concept according to the feature points around the eye. Finally the threshold set by the P80 fatigue detection standard in the PERCLOS method is integrated, and the distributed information fusion strategy is used for fatigue evaluation. With the development of BIM (building information model), based on the existing construction management theory, combined with the idea of intelligent construction, fully integrating BIM and 4D technology, we can realize the optimization of construction schedule and real-time perception and control of the actual progress of construction. In this paper, the design model is built on the basis of 3D digital technology and CATIA software as the carrier. In the Sql Server database management system as the platform, with the use of information management platform data, the 4D BIM model has been formed, and the schedule control system has been applicated in the Chushandian reservoir project, preliminarily implemented schedule monitoring target. Chushandian project application shows that to achieve the progress of data entry, the use of human-computer interaction realized the dynamic simulation of the progress of the interactive query and other data. The comparison of schedule deviation can be achieved by entering the schedule and actual progress into the network database;through the analysis of abnormal records, and the formulation of measures, the realization of schedule can be ensured. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

A wireless sensor network (WSN) is a communication network with ad hoc configuration consisting of a number of tiny, low-power, low-cost sensors which are normally distributed in a decentralized fashion and have limited processing capability. WSNs have found a wide range of applications such as industrial process control, healthcare monitoring, surveillance, forest fire detection, natural disaster detection, target tracking, among many other applications. It is known that WSNs are resource-constrained, hence, energy efficiency is crucial for all applications of WSNs to extend the life span of the sensors' batteries. The most energy consuming operation in WSN is data communication, hence, it is important to reduce amount of data transmission through WSNs without significantly affecting the transferred information. In this paper we will focus on two directions of data-efficient signal representations that are expected to provide WSNs with sufficient energy control. The first direction is the use of intelligent short word-length (SWL) systems via embedded sigma-delta modulation, and the second direction is to use compressive sensing (CS) with chaotic sequences. If security is a factor, then CS via chaos can support secure communication in addition to its main function as a technique for data compression.

Sensor networks are recently rapidly growing research area in wireless communications and distributed networks. A sensor network is a densely deployed wireless network of small, low cost sensors, which can be used in various applications like health, environmental monitoring, military, natural disaster relief, and finally gathering and sensing information in inhospitable locations to name a few. In this paper, we focus on one specific type of sensor network called MQTT, which stands for Message Queue Transport Telemetry. MQTT is an open source publisher/subscriber standard for M2M (Machine to Machine) communication. This makes it highly suitable for Internet of Things (IoT) messaging situations where power usage is at a premium or in mobile devices such as phones, embedded computers or microcontrollers. In its original state, MQTT is lacking the ability to broadcast geolocation as part of the protocol itself. In today's age of IoT however, it has become more pertinent to have geolocation as part of the protocol. In this paper, we add geolocation to the MQTT protocol and offer a revised version, which we call MQTT-G. We describe the protocol here and show where we were able to embed geolocation successfully.
