WASH (Water, Sanitation, Hygiene) plays vital role in the life style of human beings. It is an important public health issue to attain the sustainable development goals. To make WASH sector more effective, data from different sources like Water Point Mapping(WPM), Flow monitoring and Leak Detection (FMLD), mWater, mWash, etc. should be collected and big data analytical tools like Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark should be implemented to store, manipulate and get results. Big data analytics process the huge amount of unstructured data in parallel and in distributed computing environment as a cluster of computers. After successful implementation of big data analytics in WASH sector, monitoring and visualization of system, data for equity and sustainability, post implementation monitoring, Open data and accountability and Social Accountability can be executed for the betterment of this sector.

Aiming at saving energy and reducing the maintenance cost and difficulty of the urban street lighting system, this paper proposes a design scheme for an intelligent LED Street light control system based on NB-IoT network. The solution consists of a cloud server, a remote monitoring interface, and street light control terminals. Combined with NB-IoT network and Power Line Carrier (PLC) communication, this solution realizes local intelligent control and remote supervision of LED street lights. During daytime when lights are normally off, if the light intensity sensor detects that the natural brightness is insufficient, lights will be turned on at a required level. During nighttime when lights are normally on, the on-demand lighting is achieved by the energy-saving algorithm described in this paper. Meanwhile, environmental monitoring can be realized as well as fault alarm and abnormal protection.

In recent years, with the increasing development of the Internet of Things and intelligent agriculture, the application of Internet of Things technology in traditional agriculture has entered a new level. The great value of intelligent agriculture in the marketplace has been fully endorsed by the government departments and the groups from all walks of life. A new remote intelligent mushroom greenhouse control system based on ZigBee technology is putting forward to this paper. The system not only improves the efficiency of production and automation of the greenhouse, but also allows growers to monitor the environmental factors in agricultural production through the mobile network anytime and anywhere. In this system data and commands are transmitted through ZigBee and 3G/4G, which not only realize higher efficiency for the real-time monitoring of multiple greenhouses, but also effectively improve the degree of intelligent mushroom greenhouse environment control. The main function model of the platform is realized by Java core technology, and the cluster and configuration of Hadoop are putting forward to prove the availability and reliability of the platform. The system runs well, and it has a certain guiding significance for the project development of intelligent Agriculture.

Owing to the rapid industrialization and urbanization in Shenyang City, the original environmental monitoring sites can not obtain a value representative of a standard index, which can reflect the current pollution condition in the city. On the basis of the distribution of industrial sites in Shenyang City and the surrounding region, three environmental monitoring sites should be changed and two new environmental monitoring sites must be constructed to cover the increasing number industrial plants and the expanding area. In this study, a California Puff model was coupled with the Weather Research and Forecasting model to better evaluate the changes in the environmental monitoring sites. The five environmental monitoring sites were determined by comparing the temporary monitoring data in the period of April 16-24, 2015, and the., which means correlation coefficient, of the four meteorological fields, namely, wind speed, surface temperature, relative humility, and surface pressure, reached 0.53, 0.91, 0.63 and 0.72, respectively. In the evaluation of the optimized results, the values of NMBF2 were much better than those of NMBF1, with the average recorded NMBF2 values for SO2, PM10, and PM2.5 at 0.35, 0.85 and 0.70, respectively.

The article suggests an approach to energy-saving control of street lighting based on the Smart Grid concept. An energy-saving effect is largely achieved through the round-the-clock luminary dimming. To determine the efficient dimming levels, the paper offers the automated system for model-predictive control of outdoor lighting. Luminary dimming modes are corrected depending on the natural lighting conditions and special requirements for lighting depending on the time of the day according to the actual road lighting and traffic intensity data.

The intelligent-agriculture control system is implemented under the precondition of ecological data analysis. The control system of the intelligent agriculture is composed of five parts, including the hardware parts, the local control terminal, the programmable terminal, server and the remote-control terminal. Among them, the hardware part is designed the shape structure, the controlled equipment and all kinds of environmental sensors are installed in the internal. The local terminal is in the core of STC12 series single chip microcomputer. It can implement the independentoperation system. The programmable terminal is PC control program written in C Sharp, it has realized the computer-controlled system. The server uses the PHP WebSocket framework services, implements the user controlling and data forwarding. The remotecontrol terminal is the Web front terminal, including HTML5, CSS3, PHP and JavaScript. The core is the WebSocket that realizes the real-time communication of the server. The intelligent agricultural control system uses B/S and C/S architecture. It can support the local monitoring and the multi-platform remote monitoring. It has two kinds of manual and automatic control modes and can be more flexible to monitor environment and control system according to the need.

With increasing availability of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and smart devices, many smart city applications have emerged. Smart streetlighting is one of most important building blocks in a smart city. As streetlights are widely distributed across a city and some are already networked, they have a great potential to serve as a readily available infrastructure supporting additional sensing and control devices, such as environmental sensors, traffic sensors and/or IP cameras, to provide city-wide services. To connect different sensors and actuators, communication technologies and networks are of prime importance. A variety of communication technologies are available, such as Cellular, WiMAX, LTE, SigFox, LoRa and Weightless. The objective of this paper is to review various communication technologies available for supporting different applications implemented on networked streetlights. Evaluation criteria are based on specific network requirements of different smart streetlighting applications with respect to their data rate, latency, reliability and security.

Smart Grid Network (SGN) is one of the innovative trends towards efficient and intelligent use of the conventional and unconventional resources of energy with respect to electric power generation, transmission and distribution. Future smart grids are expected to have reliable, efficient, secured, and cost-effective power management with the implementation of distributed architecture. To focus on these requirements, in this paper we provide a comprehensive research on different cloud computing applications for the smart grid architecture, in three different areas-energy management, cloud monitoring and security. In these areas, the utility of cloud computing applications is discussed, while giving directions on future opportunities for the development of the smart grid.

With the continuous expansion of the monitoring scope of power secondary systems and the continuous improvement of network security requirements, many safety equipment and business systems are operating in the system. They produce a large amount of raw security data and operation monitoring data. At present, these data are isolated from each other. it makes control of the system's overall operational status and security risks a challenge. In order to realize the monitoring of the overall operating status of power secondary systems and cross-asset collaborative security data mining analysis. This paper presents a non-supervised machine learning based power system analysis and state modeling. First, design a set of asset model rules for secondary power systems. It builds the host equipment, network equipment, security equipment, and business system itself running in the existing business system into an organic whole. Afterwards, we used intelligent machine learning techniques to “draw” the “contours” of normal operation of each business. It provides a contour model for overall system operation analysis and threat warning. Finally, based on this model and real-time analysis technology, we aggregate the data distributed in various business systems in real time. It provides comprehensive support for operation monitoring and safety protection of power secondary systems.

Smart City requires an intelligent and efficient network to provide services with good quality-of-experience (QoE). In this paper, we propose to develop a secure and distributed network QoE measurement for smart networks in Smart Cities. Network measurement capability has been updated gradually as the network technology progresses. For example, software-defined network will enable efficient monitoring and control of the core network. However, end-to-end network QoE measurement requires distributed approaches from the user side. In our proposed measurement framework, a traffic measurement agent is deployed in the last-hop gateway. The gateway is equipped with new features, i.e., encrypted packet classifier, traffic prediction, and user quality-of-service (QoS) to QoE mappings. Since all measurement process is done at the gateway, end user devices are separated from the entire process. Thus security can be provided by the proposed measurement framework. In addition to the framework, we demonstrated a efficient learning approach to develop the traffic prediction scheme and the QoS to QoE mapping scheme. Experiments results demonstrated that the developed schemes are applicable to a distributed network QoS measurement framework for Smart City network services.
