The focus of this paper is a novel intelligent Distribution Panel (IDP) for controlling and monitoring power quality in small-scale ac power grids. A prototype ten-channel IDP capable of managing up to 38 kW is demonstrated. Each channel includes a relay and supports high-frequency current monitoring for smart metering. The ac current's fundamental and harmonic content up to the 7 th harmonic are precisely measured and the state of each channel can be controlled. A low-power single-board computer is used to perform data acquisition and facilitate energy management. Tasks such as frequency locking and real-time power monitoring are implemented using a digital Multiple Second Order General Integrator - Frequency Locked Loop (MSOGI-FLL) algorithm. The measured frequency and the extracted real and reactive power have an accuracy within 1% for the majority of the operating conditions.

Acoustic pollution in the past is insignificant when compared with urban environmental noise today. The control of environmental noise, in comparison to other pollutants, had been hampered by insufficient knowledge of its effects on humans. This work presents several results about the urban acoustic impact. The experimental place is the Historical Centre of Mexico City. A distributed wireless monitoring system was developed and installed. Each node includes a half-inch pre-polarized IEC 61672 Class 1 microphone mounted 4m above the road surface in a weatherproof case, a dynamic range data acquisition card, an industrial computer and wireless connection to Internet by means of a 3G Mobile Broadband. The noise level measurements at each point are made every 30 seconds, at 25 Ks/s and 24-bit resolution analogue-to-digital conversion (ADC), and the data sent to the main monitoring station every five minutes. Additionally, this paper presents a neural recognition model of five dominant environment noise sources in the measured signal mixture which is common in some critical points in urban areas.

intelligent Decision Analysis Platform is an advanced application of decision and analysis based on the construction of "State Grid 186" in China. The platform is committed to achieve the goal of all kinds of business managements and developments. It mainly focuses on providing scientific decisions by data mining and predicting after status data being analyzed. With the auxiliary support of the platform, power enterprises are capable of making better strategies and increasing revenue eventually. According to the characteristics of smart grid monitoring and the requirements of management efficiently as well as the demand of reliable storage of massive grid data, this paper puts forward the decision and analysis platform based on the parallel processing framework which is called Spark and the fault-tolerant abstraction for in-memory cluster computing embedded in Spark as it is known as Resilient distributed Datasets (RDDs). This paper gives detailed analysis of the feasibility and the advantages of the new method, as well as some unsolved problems.

This paper presents a distributed world model that is able to adapt to changes in the Quality of Service (QoS) of the communication layer by online reconfiguration of perception algorithms. The approach consists of (a) a mechanism for storage, exchange and processing of world model data and (b) a feedback loop that incorporates reasoning techniques to adapt to QoS changes immediately. The latter introduces a Level of Detail (LoD) metric based on a spatial resolution in order to infer an upper bound for the amount of data that can be transmitted without violating an application specific transmission delay. Experiments have been performed with Octree-based subsampling techniques applied to data originating from a RGB-D camera using simulated and real-world data sets for timevarying bandwidth values as employed QoS measure.

Traditional access control model in building safety regulation is not flexible enough in some scenarios, especially in emergency events, which may lead to the alarm events not promptly treated. In order to solve this problem, we design a context-aware access control model which uses RFID technology to identify the user's identity information and the environmental contexts, then we apply it to the intelligent building monitoring system. The application of the new model can bring more flexibility and security.

Video surveillance systems are commonly used for environmental monitoring. Nevertheless, existing systems such as [1, 2] can only monitor scenes statically. When an accident or a fire event happens, we cannot get the critical pictures and check those situations immediately. Therefore, we propose to leverage pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras and develop a real-time surveillance system, where the PTZ cameras can rotate in a horizontal plane by panning and in a vertical plane by tilting, and adjust the focal length by zooming, so we can control these cameras dynamically for the emergent area. Especially for the accessibility, we implement this system as a web service to help users easily define the emergent area and preview the video of cameras remotely.

Emerging Mobile Phone Sensing (M-Sense) systems enable a flexible large scale wireless sensing capability and also reduce the need of establishing the infrastructure of Wireless Sensor Network for collecting sensory information in the Internet of Things applications. M-Sense has been applied in numerous scenarios including mobile-health systems, environmental monitoring, vehicle ad hoc network, mobile social network, and so on. The drawback of existing M-Sense systems in terms of privacy, trust, less efficiency of participating in multiple sensing networks, has motivated the next generation sensing service provisioning approach. This paper introduces a generic service-oriented Mobile Host Sensing as a Service provisioning framework that allows a mobile device to provide sensing data to multiple parties based on mobile Web services. The proposed framework consists of the hybrid workflow-based control system, the dynamic Utility Cloud service, and the service provisioning scheduling model to enhance the quality of service provisioning. The prototype has been tested on real mobile devices and the details of the performance evaluation are presented.

The population growth has led to increasing occupation of areas susceptible to flooding. This is compounded by environmental stresses such as deforestation, the growing process of erosion and consequent siltation of rivers and rails, above all, the disorderly occupation of the coastal areas, causing floods occur with greater frequency and magnitude. If we consider the uncertainties related to climate change, this fact can be greatly aggravated. The mapping of areas susceptible to flooding constitutes an important mechanism for risk management as it allows the preventive control of the use and occupation of land. A new method of mapping areas susceptible to flooding has been developed by Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE). This new method is based on normalization of land called Height Above Nearest Drainage (HAND) and was applied in the city of Blumenau (Brazil) achieving satisfactory results. In addition, this method can be integrated into the monitoring system and alert the Itajaí River Basin. This system aims to monitor and alert with time in advance flooding in the basin, in order to minimize the impacts from extreme precipitation events. The proposed architecture model is based on Cloud Computing. This model aims to facilitate the integration of data obtained by weather radar and the data collection network hydro meteorological obtained from telemetry. Through friendly and transparent interface to the user, the system offers Cloud services for the operation of warning system, such as hydrological forecasting, simulation scenarios and publication of information in real time. Based on conceptual analysis, this architecture is able to meet the requirements demanded by the monitoring System and Alert Itajaí River Basin operated by CEOPS/FURB. The main requirements are: response time, availability, resource reservation, real time, scalability and security. This paper is mainly to study the working state of a certain space appliance through the MCU and the circuit. The main core of the design is composed by the control core microcontroller AT89S52, digital sensor, LCD FM12864M-12 L and some other peripheral circuits. This paper mainly introduces the performance, inner structure, input and output structure of the AT89S52. It shows the driving mode of the DS1302, the DS18B20, the DHT11, and digital sensors such as the pyroelectric infrared, which are all the products of the DALLAS company. This design depends on the collections of the various environmental indicators by all the sensors mentioned above and its sending the collected data to the MCU. The MCU will set up the system parameter through the keys according to the various environmental indicators and the user, driving relay and a buzzer to control the operation of each electrical appliance and give the alarm. It finally designs human-computer interactive multifunctional controller interface based on LCD FM12864M-12 L.
