Given the importance of mechanical and plant engineering for European competitiveness, it is necessary to think beyond the current status quo. Mechanical and plant engineering is characterized by the development of large-scale customer-specific products. The development of such complex systems is a challenge for all disciplines, e.g. mechanics, electronics, computer science and control engineering, as they have to interact with each other. During the offer phase, an initial system concept is created. The offer phase is crucial for the company, as it is during this phase that the customer decides whether to buy the system. At the same time, since it is unclear whether the customer will accept the offer, it is a question of cost-benefit for the company. This paper examines the urgency of interdisciplinary approaches in mechanical and plant engineering, particularly in light of the increasing trend towards product customization and the global competitive landscape. The idea of a model-based approach for the offer phase in special machine construction is explicitly discussed. This approach can contribute to an efficient offer phase. The advantages of a model-based approach for the offer phase of mechanical and plant engineering are also presented in this paper. With the help of industry experts, different types of models are analyzed for their suitability for this phase.

An omnidirectional Wi-Fi 6E inverted-F antenna (IFA) suitable for placing near the hinge of the laptop computer with metal housing is presented. The antenna comprises a 2-port Multiple Input-Multiple Output (MIMO) system with a T-shape isolation element, incorporating a 0.8 mm FR4 substrate with a total size of 88 mm x12 mm, and is capable of covering the 2.4 GHz (2400-2480 MHz)/5 GHz (5150-5850 MHz) and the recent Wi-Fi 6E (5925-7125 MHz) frequency bands. The proposed antenna provides a good omnidirectional radiation pattern (f=90 degrees) at the desired frequency. Furthermore, the antenna demonstrates total efficiencies greater than 66.5% and 64.9% for the lower frequency range of 2300-2700 MHz, and greater than 72.1% and 78% over the higher frequency range of 4900-7125 MHz for antenna 1 element and antenna 2 element, respectively.

It goes beyond displays and wearable systems for all pervasive human–machine–environment interfaces. Therefore, the materials and manufacturing techniques at all levels have become increasingly critical for the electronics community to connect device technologies, manufacturing, and circuits and systems. This article considers the program description, which is implemented through an operator's console or mobile phone to assess simultaneously the reaction of each participant in the experiment and the group as a whole to visual triggers that can vary in two ways: the digit value (from 0 to 9) - the digit color. Once the experiment is completed, individual and group performance scores of the complex sensorimotor reaction of the participants are displayed on the monitor screen, and the corresponding system database is generated for further processing and analysis of the results. Running the experiment with a program to test the sensorimotor reaction of a computer operator ensured high reliability in selecting computer operators and increased the technological capacity of the assessment by determining the efficiency of the complex sensorimotor reaction of a human operator rather than the time. This article provides the results of assessing the effectiveness of the complex sensorimotor reaction of a computer operator under group and individual conditions and presents their comparative values.

This work presents an in-depth investigation of the cryogenic applicability of a power amplifier (PA) from simulative and operative viewpoint. A method is introduced for gaining circuit simulation insight below the typical qualified Process Design Kit's (PDK) temperature range down to 4.5K. Based on this performance-loss compensation at cryogenic temperature is discussed. The analysis is validated with measurements of a 13GHz PA for 171Yb+ qubit gate control at 4.5K and 300K respectively. The PA under test is intended for a microwave-driven trapped-ion-based qubit system and is fabricated in a 0.13 mu m SiGe BiCMOS process.
