This paper focuses on identifying high-potential technology opportunities in the field of integrated circuits through patent analysis. The research methodology combines outlier patent screening and high-quality patent evaluation techniques. Using natural language processing, outlier patents are screened, and high-quality patents within the outliers are evaluated using the entropy weight method and Pareto optimization. The subject words in these high-quality patents are then identified as high-potential technological opportunities. The study analyzes patent data from 2016-2020 and successfully verifies the effectiveness of the method. It also identifies future high-potential technology opportunities from patent data from 2021-2023. The paper acknowledges limitations, such as the lack of comprehensive quality evaluation indexes due to database limitations and the inability to accurately obtain data for certain meaningful indexes. Additionally, there is a need for a deeper understanding of the technology in the integrated circuits field to recognize corresponding technological opportunities from subject terms. Overall, this approach offers an objective and effective way to identify high-potential technology opportunities in the field of integrated circuits using patent data.
