This paper investigates the blessings and obstacles of math modeling for wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). WSNs may be immediately evaluated on a performance basis or analyzed to address protection and reliability troubles. However, mathematical models ignore the sensors’ heterogeneity and the networks’ distributed nature. Similarly, the mission is to validate the results to ensure actual performance. Other WSNs that need attention and mathematical modeling include their management algorithms, optimizations, MAC protocols, power management, and *** comparison, sure advantages exist in math modeling, understanding complex problems, coming across new solutions and situations, and the capacity to expect effects. This paper aims to review the advantages and obstacles of math modeling for WSNs and concludes by providing hints on how WSNs can gain from mathematical modeling. Math modeling holds the splendid capacity for wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) because it comprehensively clarifies complex actual-global troubles. Math modeling offers an established framework to conceptualize, examine, and endorse answers for diverse WSN deployments. Its relative predictability and simulation accuracy can assist in perceiving hidden insights and generate reliable outcomes. As a new communication technology for Industry 4.0, Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) provides reliable support for real-time data amidst massive data transmissions. However, manually verifying the overall performance mechanisms of such a network is challenging. Therefore, this article models and simulates the TSN network on the OPNET platform. First, the key mechanisms and current development status of Time-Sensitive Networking are introduced. Next, the simulation modeling of the network switches and end systems is described, highlighting the key technologies within the model;where the end systems are responsible for data generation, transmission, and processing, and the switches are responsible for data forwarding and routing. Finally, this article designed the initial data of the TSN model and completed the testing of the model under a certain network bandwidth, with an almost zero packet loss rate for high-priority data packets, and the end-to-end delay meets expectations. Although the packet loss rate and delay for medium and low-priority data are slightly higher than those for high-priority data, they still meet expectations. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Emotions play an important role in human cognition. With the development of affective computing, there is an increasing number of studies on building emotional machines. However, today’s machines are far from having emotional feelings, which are the very nature of emotions. To address this issue, we propose a quantum circuit model of emotions and feelings based on quantum theory. In this model, an emotion is always accompanied by a feeling, and their simultaneity is modeled by quantum entanglement. In addition, mixed emotions are modeled as quantum superposition states and the generation of a specific emotion is regarded as the result of quantum collapse by measurement which can be seen as cognitive activities. Experimental results on the IBM quantum simulation platform demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed model, suggesting that quantum computing is a promising way to create genuine emotional machines. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Developing excavation autonomy is challenging given the environments where excavators operate, the complexity of physical interaction and the degrees of freedom of operation of the excavator itself. simulation is a useful tool to build parts of the autonomy without the complexity of experimentation. Traditional excavator simulators are geared towards high fidelity interactions between the joints or between the terrain but do not incorporate other challenges such as perception required for end-end autonomy. A complete simulator should be capable of supporting real-time operation while providing high fidelity simulation of the excavator(s), the environment, and their interaction. In this paper we present TERA (Terrain Excavation Robot Autonomy), a simulator geared towards autonomous excavator applications based on Unity3D/AGX that provides the extensibility and scalability required to study full autonomy. It provides the ability to configure the excavator and the environment per the user requirements. We also demonstrate realistic dynamics by incorporating a time-varying model that introduces variations in the system's responses. The simulator is then evaluated with different scenarios such as track deformation, velocities on different terrains, similarity of the system with the real excavator and the overall path error to show the capabilities of the simulation. With the rapid advancement of computer virtual reality technology, the demand for simulation-based intelligent driving systems in the domains of roads, traffic, vehicles, and safety has become increasingly prominent. However, the closed nature of current technologies, high costs, limited application scenarios, and significant discrepancies between simulation results and real-world outcomes have constrained the progress and application of driving simulation technology. In response to these challenges, this paper presents the development of virtual reality intelligent driving simulation software using the open-source Unity3D physics engine. By integrating engineering design and 3D modeling, we have constructed an open-source driving simulation system that offers realistic simulation effects, flexible application scenarios, and the potential for further development. © 2025 SPIE.

The integration of human-robot collaboration is becoming a significant paradigm in modern manufacturing, driven by the advancements of Industry 4.0. Digital Twins (DTs) and simulation key technologies emerge as tools for enhancing collaboration contexts, offering models that improve decision-making and system adaptability. This paper presents the conceptual modeling of a multi-simulation-based DT system designed to improve task allocation between humans and robots in collaborative environments. Utilizing Unified modeling Language (UML) diagrams, specifically use case and class diagrams, the study outlines user interactions and the system's structural framework. The proposed architecture enables operators to interact with the DT through an intuitive interface, allowing for quick adjustments based on ergonomic and productivity considerations. This approach aims to enhance human-robot synergy, improve resource utilization, and contribute to the development of flexible and resilient manufacturing systems in the transition toward Industry 5.0. © 2024 The Authors. Conical worm gearing is a new type of worm gearing composed of a conical worm and a conical worm wheel, which differs from ordinary cylindrical worm gearing in that the working helical surface of the worm in the conical worm gearing pair is offset on the side of the worm wheel, and the shape of the worm and the worm wheel are conical. Taking the Archimedean cone-worm transmission as the research object, using the principle of gear meshing, the tooth equations of the cone worm and cone worm gear are deduced, combining with MATLAB, Solidworks and other computer-aided software for solid modeling of the cone-worm transmission, to obtain the three-dimensional model and the model is assembled and then analyzed by the finite element software to find out that the contact and force conditions of the cone-worm transmission meet the actual requirements, which is a good idea for the design and reliability of miniature transmission mechanism. It provides theoretical support for the design and reliability of micro transmission mechanism. © The Author(s) 2025.

Due to a rising number of entities and more advanced systems, modern air combat engagements are increasing in complexity. Therefore, to ensure success in pilot training and perform accurate threat evaluation using simulations, it is substantial to not only replicate and simulate the physical properties of the computer-Generated forces (CGFs) to an adequate degree but also to provide them with sufficiently realistic, coordinated and situation-adaptive behavior. Additionally, most air combat research assumes that all aircraft information is known, however, in real-world scenarios, multiple factors, such as sensor performance limitations, can lead to missing or incorrect information about the position, altitude, or velocity of adversary aircraft. In this paper, we propose a Tactical Planning Process as part of an overarching CGF Team Behavior Agent Function utilizing information such as threat risk and the enemy's intent from a Situation Analysis created with realistically available data. This process is partitioned into two stages, Team Planning and Maneuver Selection. Team Planning consists of deciding whether the mission itself should be commenced or aborted, selecting Tactics to counter the threats, as well as performing a Targeting in which threat aircraft are assigned to the individual CGFs. Further, in Maneuver Selection, the own current risks are assessed and used to continuously decide the current task for each CGF with respect to its target. Following, the maneuver command itself is being selected and sent to the simulated aircraft. This is done within an evaluation of the own chances and risks by, in a first step, identifying suitable tactical maneuver types, in a second step, narrow down their parameters, so that, in the final step, predicted risks from the Situation Analysis can be incorporated in the selection process as well. Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) are essential for various maritime operations. USV mission planning approach offers autonomous solutions for monitoring, surveillance, and logistics. Existing approaches, which are based on static methods, struggle to adapt to dynamic environments, leading to suboptimal performance, higher costs, and increased risk of failure. This paper introduces a novel mission planning framework that uses Large Language Models (LLMs), such as GPT-4, to address these challenges. LLMs are proficient at understanding natural language commands, executing symbolic reasoning, and flexibly adjusting to changing situations. Our approach integrates LLMs into maritime mission planning to bridge the gap between high-level human instructions and executable plans, allowing real-time adaptation to environmental changes and unforeseen obstacles. In addition, feedback from low-level controllers is utilized to refine symbolic mission plans, ensuring robustness and adaptability. This framework improves the robustness and effectiveness of USV operations by integrating the power of symbolic planning with the reasoning abilities of LLMs. In addition, it simplifies the mission specification, allowing operators to focus on high-level objectives without requiring complex programming. The simulation results validate the proposed approach, demonstrating its ability to optimize mission execution while seamlessly adapting to dynamic maritime conditions. © 2025 IEEE.
