Modern therapy for type 1 diabetes requires patients to interact with intelligent systems designed for automated insulin delivery (AID). Despite substantial medical advantages, patients often experience low trust in and predictability of AID systems. To mitigate adverse effects on human-AI cooperation, AID simulations may be used in training of patients. The goal of the present research is to identify requirements for human-centered AID simulation. To this end, we conducted an interview study (N = 12) in which stakeholders were queried on their expectations regarding AID systems, mainly addressing interactivity and explanation of simulation parameters. In addition, a prototypical simulation was used in a within-subject online experiment with N = 32 participants to evaluate effects on perceived trustworthiness and traceability. While the latter improved significantly, no difference in perceived trustworthiness was found. Our results indicate that interactive simulations can contribute to improving human cooperation with AID systems in a safe environment.

Lacking situation awareness is one of the main issues in emergency dispatching that can lead to high uncertainty in decision-making. Automated systems can and will support dispatchers in this process in the future. Yet, the introduction of such systems can place additional cognitive demands on dispatchers and should therefore be tailored to their working routines at an early stage. This is especially true when systems execute tasks that cannot be performed by humans in this form, and thus provide new sources of information. To figure out how to design the integration of new information, it is essential to understand the existing information flow of dispatchers to assess how information processing might change. For this purpose, we propose the combination of simulations and the Critical Decision Method (CDM) with the amplification by psychological experimental design methods as an approach to uncover cognitive processes in decision-making. In a literature review, we identified 10 relevant empirical research papers in which this combination had already been applied in studies. The reviewed papers were analyzed in terms of methodological aspects and takeaways regarding the application of simulations and the CDM. The results show that both the simulation environment and scenarios, as well as the selection of CDM probes, require careful consideration and accurate alignment with the research objectives. In conclusion, we provide and discuss the methodological design, an experimental setup, and an example scenario focused on the emergency dispatching process.

The article contains a description of modeling and analysis of dynamic results of a monorail vehicle in simulation environments for various purposes. The analyzes carried out are aimed at checking the correctness of the calculation engine of the virtual reality environment Unity. The Unity system in terms of parameters and the method of modeling mechanical objects is similar to typical MBS(MultiBody simulation) environments. The authors used for the comparative analysis MBS system: Universal Mechanism dedicated for testing rail vehicles. Despite applying the same parameters as in Universal Mechanism, the monorailtrack model made in Unity did not achieve satisfactory convergence of results between the models. The correctness of the simulation calculations in the Universal Mechanism system was confirmed by analytically determining the value of centrifugal acceleration. Discrepancies were found between the recorded results and the behavior of the vehicle observed in the animation. The observed behavior of the vehicle during the animation was more realistic than the recorded acceleration course. The presented arguments suggest that the Unity engine (solver) is insufficiently powerful to perform detailed simulations.

In modern digital world, the amount of information is increasing dramatically. All this information requires immediate processing which can be done by automated systems. To accelerate processing in automated systems, new models, methods and efficient algorithms for their implementation are needed. The article considers the problem of distributing incoming messages to handlers in an automated system of an organization. The classical assignment problem and known methods of its solution are the mathematical basis for solving the problem. A generalization of the assignment problem with invalid combinations of assignments is considered as a model. A solution algorithm is developed and a software product for solving the described problem in the Python language is implemented. Moreover, numerical experiments are carried out to verify the quality of the developed algorithm and check its feasibility. The applied problem posed in this paper is relevant as in terms of its practical application and as the study of the mathematical model of the assignment problem and methods of its solution. The developed algorithm allows us to calculate the system load and regulate the number of handlers in operation. The obtained results can serve as input parameters for the simulation model of the incoming message processing system which will allow experimenting with the load of such a system.
Since most of the traditional SiC MOSFETs modeling methods are complicated and do not consider the effect of temperature under operating conditions, this paper proposes a datasheet-based modeling method to improve the...
