Recent advances in vehicular communication technologies, including DSRC, LTE, enable cars to observe the surroundings, communicate (between each other, roadside units, and pedestrians), and analyze various potential hazards more effectively. However, for now, such communication is largely limited to broadcasting alerts. We believe it is mostly because of the mismatch between the current standards of the networking architecture (IP) and vehicular application semantics. This paper aims to demonstrate the feasibility of using Named Data Networking (NDN)-a promising information-centric networking architecture-over CV2X to build a scalable pedestrian-awareness application, SPA, where we have primarily focused on vehicle-to-pedestrian (V2P) communication. NDN is designed to network by names and secured data items instead of point-to-point packet delivery and is especially beneficial for vehicular applications. This paper proposes a specific design of a scalable pedestrian-awareness application, SPA, that leverages the data-centric communication model of NDN, addressing scalability and network communication efficiency, without compromising (qualitative) information dissemination. To confirm the findings, the paper presents a simulation-based study, comparing bandwidth use and comparing it with a currently proposed pedestrian safety application.

In this research we study the statistical mechanics of cooperation through a simple case of aspiration-driven dynamics in structured populations with mixed strategies. Comparing to the existing literature, we define a pool of possible behaviors for the agents based on the bandits learning algorithms and we highlight settings of the Iterated Prisoner's Dilemma Game which may have positive influence on the emergence of cooperation from the aspect of both the entire population and the individual players. We present the level of cooperation and its variation in terms of the median (M) and the interquartile range (IQ) in accordance to the observed topological characteristics of the network structures and partner selection strategies. Our experimental results show that regardless of the underlying network structures, it is difficult to maintain a fully cooperative society in the shade of Random and Epsilon Greedy partner selection strategies. The reported Median values are the lowest and the changes in the IQRs do not follow a sharp increase or decrease in both strategies. Contrary to this, it will even take a shorter time to see a fully cooperative population though UCB, Epsilon First and Epsilon Decreasing strategies. Our observation with respect to different network structures also shows that, considering a certain level of heterogeneity both in terms of distance to others as well as clustering coefficient is more conductive in the spread of cooperative behavior among a networked population.

In the process of rod pump lifting, the study on the movement law of rod pump and the distribution of liquid pressure and velocity in the valve barrel of the rod pump is an important basis for judging whether the oil well is normal or not and putting forward effective measures. This paper uses the simulation software platform, combined with the physical model of the laboratory, digital modeling. At the same time, a digital twinning method based on digital twinning model is proposed to analyze the movement law of rod pump. This method can solve the transparency of the production site, and can also make quantitative analysis, draw conclusions of construction significance, and guide the site effectively. © 2021 IEEE.

Based on the model of Ablow and Schechter, the equation of stable direct route motion of the streamer system of underwater vehicle is established. The simulation calculation program of stable direct route motion of the streamer system is compiled according to the equation. Under the condition of setting the kinematics and dynamics boundary of the streamer, the stable array of the streamer system is simulated numerically. The influence of the key parameters such as the speed of towing point, the density of streamer and the diameter of streamer on the stable direct route motion array and tension of the streamer system is discussed. On this basis, combined with the full-scale model of the streamer system, the actual towing test on the lake is carried out. The test results show that the results obtained by the simulation method in this paper are consistent with the actual array obtained by the actual motion test, and can effectively evaluate the array attitude and node hydrodynamic characteristics of the streamer system. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Many conflicts emanate from failure to understand others’ perspectives. Computationally supported roleplaying games have the potential to promote successful perspective taking. When implemented with the affordances of virtual reality, nuances of embodied communication in roleplaying can be more robustly modeled. In this paper, we describe the design and development of a roleplaying game aimed at simulating ingroup-outgroup biases with the goal of supporting positive perspective taking in virtual reality: On the Plane. The game presents players with a simulation of air travel experience, from airport security screening to in-flight events. On the Plane affords the ability to experience the simulation as different characters, supporting both ingroup and outgroup perspectives. We describe how the game is structured to simulate and challenge ingroupoutgroup biases within the context of xenophobia and lay out our plans for future research using On the Plane to promote positive perspective transformation (e.g., challenging one’s own ill-founded preconceptions).

Epilepsy is a long-term neurological problem that makes it hard for people to function their daily lives normally because their seizures can happen at any time. People who have epileptic seizures often hurt their brains, which can lead to memory loss, mental decline, and other problems. Because of this, it is important to find epileptic seizures quickly and get medical help for them. This paper presents the optimized two-layer long short-term memory model (2L-LSTM), and it can automatically expand retrospectively and for each patient. The program automatically creates distinctive characteristics that help identify seizure patients as either epileptic or not epileptic in real time. The proposed two layer Long Short-Term Memory (2L-LSTM) classifier classifies Epileptic or non-Epileptic signals with up to $\mathbf{9 8 \%}$ accuracy. It also gives the sensitivity, specificity and F1_score of $\mathbf{9 5 \%}$, $\mathbf{9 4 \%}$ and $\mathbf{9 6 \%}$ respectively. The simulation results shows that proposed 2L-LSTM model perform far better as compared to 1L-LSTM.

To understand dark matter and dark energy, astrophysicists have developed new computer approaches. We provide a unique technique that integrates N-body simulations, deep learning, and adaptive mesh refinement to study the universe's mysterious forces. Despite their unsurpassed accuracy, N-body simulations have struggled with computing speed and scalability restrictions when simulating dark matter particle gravitational interactions. However, the Barnes-Hut technique considerably improves these simulations' scalability and processing efficiency. Deep learning is our second pillar, developing cutting-edge machine learning. CNNs, RNNs, and other neural networks may anticipate complicated cosmic occurrences and duplicate them exactly. Our third invention, Adaptive Mesh Refinement (AMR), improves resource use by targeting computing resources. Scalability and resource efficiency are adaptive mesh refinement's strengths. Our comprehensive approach outperforms older approaches due to its mix of contemporary methodologies and N-Body simulation accuracy. This distinctive method gives scholars a tremendous toolset to understand our planet's underlying cosmic processes. It fills holes in standard approaches and advances dark matter and dark energy research.

For every researcher, uncertainties connected to the Smart Grid and Distribution Network are a common element. Thousands of sources are part of the renewable energy system and they are situated at varying distances. In due course, certain sources may be inefficient, or a natural disaster can destroy the source causing power supply failures or require routine maintenance to improve service. Some of these defects grow slowly and some have a strong impact. The systems, however, contain safety components to remove the problem, but impact the generation of electricity and conduct intelligent grid errors. An intelligent microgrid should feature an intelligent fault location detection and fault removal device to avoid unwanted loads and insecurities. This research shaped a smart grid system, together with a defective technique to identify uncertainty efficiently. The originality of this research is to model an SMG based on an isolated small area's SGC mechanism in conjunction with a defective detecting system to manage uncertainties in an efficient way. The FLD technique is focused upon wavelet trigger signal and mathematical morphology method. In this approach, the wavelet activator signal created by the equivalent current or voltage for a short period of time is simulated to go to both terminals to determine that the fault takes place in the short branch using the mathematical morphological technique. The SMG modeled system is separated into a few branches for the FLD system. A smart technique is presented via mixed human machine interface (HMI) for SMG performance and FLD monitoring. The integrated process of the SMG system modeling in the MATLAB performance validation simulation platform. © 2021 IEEE.

Estimating the electrical model parameters of photovoltaic (PV) modules, which are normally not provided by manufacturers, is crucial for modeling PV systems in simulation studies. This work proposes a novel robust approach to identify parameters of the single diode model (SDM) of a PV module. The equivalent electrical circuit parameters are extracted by solving a set of equations through the application of the Lambert W function for a given value of ideality factor, Ai, based on data found in manufacturer's datasheets under standard test conditions (STC). To find the optimal ideality factor, parameters are computed for different Ai values within a defined range, and their fitness is assessed using a multi-criteria objective function. Irradiance and temperature dependence of the parameters are estimated using the temperature coefficients available on datasheets and the irradiation coefficient of open circuit voltages, calculated using the data at Normal Operating Cell Temperature (NOCT). By utilizing the estimated values for the parameters, the current-voltage (1- V) characteristics at different levels of irradiation and temperatures, and the temperature coefficient of maximum power for several PV modules, were obtained. The errors expressed in terms of root means square deviations compared to the datasheet values were less than 4 % for the five different PV modules considered.
