In-pipe inspection robots are used to inspect the physical pipe conditions to reduce the likelihood of pipe failure because it can fit or be smaller than the pipe's size for it to inspect the pipe's interior. In this study, an improved design of an in-pipe inspection robot that can climb vertical pipes will be evaluated to determine if the designed chassis is acceptable through stress simulation and to analyze if the design has stable motion when traversing horizontal and vertical pipes. Before simulating the improved robot design in Adams, a simulation model will be made based on a fabricated in-pipe inspection robot to validate if Adams is a valid method for creating virtual prototypes. In the stress simulation, the results show that the design is acceptable as it did not have any deformation from the forces imposed on it during compression. The results of the simulation model based on the past study are shown to be almost similar to the actual results with less than 1% error that proves using Adams is valid for creating a virtual prototype. After evaluating the improved design by analyzing the mechanical behavior simulation model inside horizontal and vertical pipes with 6-8 inches inside diameter as well as comparing the displacement, velocity, spring force, and torque based on changes in pipe size and orientation, the design has shown to have stable motion and can climb vertical pipes without much issue. © 2021 IEEE.

Wireless capsule endoscopy (WCE) allows physicians to observe the digestive tract without doing surgery, at the cost of a huge volume of images should be analysed. The analysis and interpretation of WCE images will be a complicated task which needs computer aided decision (CAD) mechanism for assisting medical practitioner with the video screening and, lastly, with the diagnosis. Manual examination of WCE is a time taking process and can be benefitted from automatic detection by utilizing artificial intelligence (AI). Deep learning was a new method related to neural network. WCE was the criterion standard to identify small-bowel diseases. In this context, this study formulates an Improved Water Strider Optimization with Deep Learning Based Image Classification (IWSO-DLIC) for WCE. The presented IWSO-DLIC technique examines the WCE images for the identification of diseases. For image pre-processing, the IWSO-DLIC technique uses Wiener filtering (WF) approach. In addition, the IWSO-DLIC technique employs MobileNet feature extractor, and the hyperparameter tuning process takes place via the IWSO algorithm. Moreover, the IWSO algorithm is designed by the combination of oppositional based learning (OBL) concept with standard WSO algorithm. Finally, to classify WCE images, long short-term memory (LSTM) model is employed in this study. To demonstrate the enhanced performance of the IWSO-DLIC model, a series of simulations were performed. The simulation values stated the enhanced performance of the IWSO-DLIC technique over other recent models.

Rapid urbanization and industrialization can quickly deteriorate surrounding quality of the air, particularly in evolving countries. Pollution in air carry out a major problem to public health and damage the atmosphere. Previous analysis is utilized Machine Learning (ML) and arithmetic modeling for classifying and forecasting pollution in air. But these techniques undergo the difficulty of air pollution databases giving an outcome in the absence of effectual classification and prediction of air pollutions. The research developed a Bayesian Optimization with Stacked Deep Learning-based Air Quality Index Prediction (BOSDL-AQIP) approach. The goal of the BOSDL-AQIP approach lies in the effectual identification and classification of Air Quality (AQ) into multiple class labels. To attain this, the presented BOSDL-AQIP technique employs min-max normalization for data scaling purposes. Next, the BOSDL-AQIP system utilizes Stacked Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (SBiLSTM) technique for prediction process. Moreover, BO technique was utilized for adjusting the hyperparameter values of the SBiLSTM technique and thereby improve the predictive outputs. The simulation outcome of the BOSDL-AQIP algorithm was tested on air quality dataset and the outputs implied the enhanced efficacy of the BOSDL-AQIP technique over other approaches.

Nek5000/RS, a highly-performant open-source spectral element code, has recently achieved an unprecedented milestone in the simulation of nuclear reactors: the first full core computational fluid dynamics simulations of reactor cores, including pebble beds with 352,625 pebbles and 98M spectral elements (51 billion gridpoints), advanced in less than 0.25 seconds per Navier-Stokes timestep. The authors present performance and optimization considerations necessary to achieve this milestone when running on all of Summit. These optimizations led to a fourfold reduction in time-to-solution, making it possible to perform high-fidelity simulations of a single flow-through time in less than six hours for a full reactor core under prototypical conditions.

Quadcopters are widely used in military and domestic applications as they offer awesome applications in medical, military, agriculture etc. Quadcopters are compact in size and offer vertical takeoff and landing capabilities that require less space for operational activities. Because of their immense applications, many researchers have worked to minimize the operational errors to enhance its accuracy and stability. Several researchers have proposed multiple control strategies and dynamic modeling of quadcopter, but each has its perks and limitations. This paper has proposed Model Based Design is approach, Software In Loop (SIL) simulation specifically to develop quadcop-ter dynamic model and two control strategies i.e. PID controller and Pole Placement controller. LabVIEW is used as simulator to deploy quadcopter dynamics and designed control strategies. Model tests are conducted by defining trajectory for control strategies and pole placement controller showed better results. The model is then deployed on hardware and through Hardware in Loop testing, the model performance is validated. © 2021 IEEE.

Control system is a vital part of an autonomous vehicle. It is responsible for passenger's safety and better navigation on roads. In this paper, a control system design is discussed, along with lateral and longitudinal control for the autonomous vehicle. A speed profile generator is used for calculating the speed for better stability of the vehicle. Through the paper, implementation of a PID controller with Stanley control is discussed. Mathematical modeling is performed for the controller to analyze the effect of external factors on the vehicle and the proposed system is later coded in python language and later tested through simulation on CARLA simulator and results are discussed. © 2021 IEEE

Wavefront shaping technique makes it possible to overcome limitations for optical imaging in strongly scattering media. Various wavefront shaping algorithms are used in order to find an optimal incident optical field. However, in many cases such experiments appear to be very time consuming and suffer from instability of the scattering media. So, it seems reasonable to use computer simulation in this field. In this paper we use two different approaches to simulate the light focusing through scattering media. The first approach consists in numerical solution of Maxwell equations for the set of spherical particles in random positions, which represent the scattering media. The result of the solution represents the scattering matrix of the media. This matrix is used to simulate propagation of spatially modulated light in the "frozen" stochastic media. As entries of the scattering matrix appear to be random variables with Gaussian distribution, they could be set heuristically for modeling purposes. This makes possible modeling of the wavefront shaping with large number of orthogonal modes of incident light. We considered four focusing techniques: continuous sequential algorithm and focusing using useful properties of Hadamard matrix with a phase-only and binary amplitude modulation (BAM). We represent results on convergence of the algorithms and focal intensity enhancement. We examined spatial variations of intensity enhancement, while scanning the focal point in observation plane. We found, that the intensity enhancement strongly correlates with the speckle from unmodulated illumination, when the BAM is used for wavefront shaping. In the case of phase-only modulation, only weak correlations were observed.

When processing radio signals, the volume of computational operations depends on the number of discrete samples during analog-to-digital conversion. We propose a method for significantly reducing such samples for the case of narrowband radar signals with a known center frequency. In this case, the narrowband is determined by the significantly smaller width of the spectrum of the received radar signal compared to the operating frequency of the intermediate frequency amplifier, from the output of which the signal is fed to an analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The main feature of the proposed procedure is that the sequence of ADC sampling clock pulses is organized in such a way that any two adjacent samples are related by a quadrature ratio. It is shown that this procedure makes it possible to determine the amplitude and phase of the received signal corresponding to each sample. At the same time, it remains possible to calculate the Doppler shift and signal envelope parameters. A computer simulation of the proposed sampling method was carried out at the repetition rate of the ADC sampling clock pulses, which is determined by the frequency of the reference signal of the master system of the coherent radar and is a multiple of the operating frequency of the intermediate-frequency amplifier. The relative error in determining the signal amplitude is formed as a result of the inequality in the frequencies of the received and reference signals. For real conditions, it does not exceed 1 % and depends on the characteristics of the radar (carrier frequency of the sounding signal, the multiplicity between the value of the intermediate frequency at which processing is carried out and the value of the sampling frequency), as well as on the value of the radial velocity of the object and the initial phase difference between the signal at the output of the intermediate-frequency amplifier and reference signal. The document presents a model for the planning process for data dissemination tasks. A distinctive feature of the model is that it takes into account the heterogeneity of entities by including additional blocks for their analysis and adaptation to the existing capabilities of processor and other resources. In the course of modeling, a classification was given to the concept of “entities”, a block diagram of the flow of entities for planning systems was developed and investigated. A generalized model for scheduling tasks and entities with dependencies has also been developed. The simulation was carried out using the GERT-network technology. As a result, GERT-networks of the process of scheduling distribution tasks for a separate n-th set of data type are obtained. The simulation result is presented in the form of an analytical expression for calculating the scheduling time for data dissemination tasks, taking into account the heterogeneity of entities.
