Several techniques have been introduced over the years to mitigate the effect of howling sound production in sound reinforcement applications. The algorithmic computational complexity of the howling controllers directly affects their implementability on resource-constrained hardware platforms. This work introduces a computationally cheap acoustic howling control algorithm that requires a single multiplication operation for its implementation. The algorithm was modelled, simulated and tested using MATLAB® to obtain its performance metrics. simulation results showed that the developed technique has average sound quality indices of 1.1746 and 1.2118 for speech and audio signals respectively. Also, for speech and audio signals, Maximum Stable Gain (MSG) Increase figures of 11.29 dB and 9.858 dB were obtained respectively. These results showed that, compared to the standard Adaptive Feedback Control (AFC) technique, the developed algorithm has comparable MSG Increase figures, negligibly small computational cost and low sound quality. This result implied that the howling controller can be easily implemented on a resource-constrained hardware platform at the expense of some degradation in sound quality.

This manuscript presents an essential overview of the implementation of memristor-based logic circuits. Different memristor models such as Linear Drift, Simmons Tunnel, Yakopcic, N on-Linear ion Drift, TEAM, and VTEAM have been taken into consideration and a comparison of results has been done adopting all these models. The logic gates such as NAND, NOT, NOR, AND, OR along with some combinational circuits such as a l-bit comparator, and 2xl multiplexer were designed and implemented using MRL (Memristor Ratioed Logic) in the L TSpice simulation tool. The primary target of this paper is affirming the attributes of memristor at the device level. Here the logic circuits are implemented using Memristor and NMOS devices. All the circuits designed in this paper operate at a supply voltage of lV using HP memristor model. Moreover, the power consumed by the designed circuits has been analyzed and found to be in the order of p W.

Designing automation systems requires a joint effort from different domains including the control software and controlled plants. System design is the foundation of the discipline-specific design processes and hence its verification is critical to the success of the whole project. Transforming system design models to simulation models is a common method for system verification. IEC 61499 Function Block (FB) is a feasible target simulation modeling language because of its executable specification nature. However, existing approaches can only generate initial control design from SysML models, which means the generated FB models are not executable. In this study, an approach to transform SysML design models into executable FB models is proposed. First, the execution semantics of hybrid automaton (HA) and execution control chart (ECC), which are the behavior modeling formalisms of SysML and IEC 61499, respectively is analyzed. Then, their semantic similarities and differences are identified. Finally, transformation rules to tackle the semantic differences are proposed so that the missing execution details of FB models can be automatically generated. A CNC bending machine is used as a case study to illustrate the proposed approach. © 2021 IEEE.

Dung Beetle Optimizer (DBO) is a meta-heuristic algorithm formed by modeling inspired by living creatures and is known for its fast convergence. However, it still suffers from poor global exploration abilities, a proclivity to settle for local optimums and a lack of population variety. Therefore, this paper proposes a hybrid beluga whale optimization (BWO) and dung beetle optimization algorithm with somersault foraging (SRBDBO) using three strategies to improve the DBO. First, the interaction behavior between individuals in the hybrid BWO exploration phase enhances the global exploration ability of the rolling dung beetle, and the diversity of the dung beetle population is improved by mixing the BWO whale-fall phase at the end of each iteration of the population. Second, a somersault foraging strategy is introduced to expand the foraging area of small dung beetles. An adaptive somersault factor is also incorporated to balance global exploration and local exploitation and prevent the population from stopping updating at a locally optimal solution. Third, refraction opposition-based learning (ROBL) is used to reduce the likelihood that a thief dung beetle will stagnate updating in a locally optimal region. Finally, the widely recognized CEC2017 benchmark function set is utilized to assess the performance of SRBDBO. The simulation experiments show that SRBDBO demonstrates strong optimization-seeking performance and robustness when compared with the selected algorithm.

Many potential medical applications for magnetically controlled tetherless devices inside the human body have been proposed, including procedures such as biopsies, blood clot removal, and targeted drug delivery. These devices are capable of wirelessly navigating through fluid-filled cavities in the body, such as the vascular system, eyes, urinary tract, and ventricular system, to reach areas difficult to access via conventional methods. Once at their target location, these devices could perform various medical interventions. This paper focuses on a special type of magnetic tetherless device called a magnetic rotating swimmer, which has internal magnets and propeller fins with a helical shape. To facilitate the design process, an automated geometry generation program using OpenSCAD was developed to create the swimmer design, while computational fluid dynamics simulations using OpenFOAM were employed to calculate the propulsive force produced by the swimmer. Furthermore, an experimental approach is proposed and demonstrated to validate the model. The results show good agreement between simulations and experiments, indicating that the model could be used to develop an automatic geometry optimization pipeline for rotating swimmers.

Cooperative perception system is essential to address occlusion and small object perception issues in autonomous driving. However, autonomous vehicle (AV) perception methods based on deep learning rely on large-scale and accurately annotated traffic datasets. Compared to real datasets, which are difficult to collect and annotate and limited in quantity and diversity of scenes, the virtual dataset synthesis method is a convenient and efficient approach. To improve annotation accuracy while speeding up modeling, we propose a pipeline for constructing artificial traffic scenes and generating virtual datasets based on autonomous driving simulation software from a parallel vision perspective. Furthermore, to facilitate the development of cooperative perception, we propose a novel efficient traffic scene dataset for V2V cooperative perception named Large-Scale Traffic Virtual Dataset (LSTV-V2V). Our dataset contains 47 traffic scenarios, 8380 frames, and 191864 annotated 3D vehicle bounding boxes. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our virtual dataset in cooperative perception tasks.

The sensing system in NAND flash memories is a complex mixed-signal circuit consisting of a large-scale cell array, wordline decoders, page buffers, analog/digital bit-counters, and digital sequence controllers. This paper proposes a model and simulation framework that can assess the effectiveness of various incremental/adaptive algorithms used by digital controllers for the read, program, and erase operations, while simulating the progression of individual cell threshold voltages (V-th) and modeling the detailed analog characteristics of the page buffers. The proposed model is written entirely in SystemVerilog, and its analog parts are described using the XMODEL primitives, which enable efficient and event-driven simulation of analog circuits. The proposed model can simulate a 40 mu s-long incremental step pulse programming (ISPP) sequence with the maximum loop iteration count of 4 on a 12K-bit block of single-level cells (SLC) in less than 2 minutes, and can assess the trade-offs between the programming speed and reliability as a function of the pulse step size and the impacts of the page buffer's sensing time on the final cell V-th distribution.

With the progression of technology, the automobile industry has experienced a significant transformation due to the emergence of Electric Vehicles (EVs). EVs offer a sustainable means of transportation that doesn’t harm the environment. The decline of global oil reserves and the detrimental effects of air pollution caused by conventional motor vehicles have motivated numerous researchers to explore alternative energy sources for vehicle propulsion. This study aims to investigate power flow calculations to ensure that the amount of electrical energy aligns with the requirements of the electric vehicle. Using MATLAB/Simulink software, a model of a small electric vehicle is designed to achieve optimal power flow response within the EV energy system and this article outlines the process of modeling an Electric Vehicle using MATLAB and Simulink, elucidating different components such as the Motor Model, Battery Model, Power Model, and Regenerative System. By employing Simulink, the designed Electric Vehicle is simulated, and important metrics such as Motor Torque, Vehicle Speed, and State of Charge of the Battery are calculated using a given Driving Cycle. The collected data is then analyzed to enhance the model’s performance.

Halide-based perovskites show immense promise as efficient, affordable, and easily-fabricated flexible solar cells. But ensuring their long-term stability and establishing them as environmentally friendly, lead-free alternatives is still a real challenge. Therefore, in this work, Rubidium Silicon Fluoride $(\mathbf{RbSiF}_{\mathbf{3}})-\mathbf{based}$ Pb-free perovskite solar cells (PSCs) were numerically modeled and studied using the Solar Cell Capacitance Simulator (SCAPS-1D). Here, a novel cell architecture, $\mathbf{ITO}/\mathbf{PCBM}/\mathbf{RbSiF}_{\mathbf{3}}/\mathbf{CuI}/\mathbf{Au}$ , has been proposed, where a novel material, $\mathbf{RbSiF}_{\mathbf{3}}$ , is explored as an absorber layer with an optimum thickness of 800 nm. After analyzing and optimizing several parameters like thickness, bandgap, and metal work function of back contact, it was found that this PSC shows: 0.9140V as voltage at open circuit (Voc), $\mathbf{23.70}\ \mathbf{mA}/\mathbf{cm}^{\mathbf{2}}$ as short circuit current density (Jsc), 82.20% fill factor (FF), and 15.23% efficiency (PCE). Besides, to achieve higher efficiency from the proposed PSC structure, series resistance should be very small, but shunt resistance should be kept high, and an optimum temperature of 27°C has to be maintained.

Geospatial Cloud and fog computing have experienced significant growth due to advanced Information and Communication Technology (ICT) that enables geospatial web services. These technologies are known for their robust computing infrastructure, which supports various services for smart city, smart health, smart grid, and smart transportation. To meet Quality of Service (QoS) needs, distributed computing technologies like geospatial cloud and fog computing are used together to provide more specific degrees of granularity. Lately, researchers have been investigating the use of fog in geospatial cloud systems to enhance the efficiency of data storage, visualizations and analysis. This research paper enhances the performance of a Geospatial Fog-Cloud system by doing a thorough investigation and evaluation of the performance of models used for data storage, visualizations and analysis. This work provides a compre-hensive system model and utilizes suitable $M$ / $M$ /1 queueing with balking models to analyze the performance. The effectiveness of the proposed analytical queueing model is demonstrated by simulation experiments conducted using MAPLE 18 tool. These tests analyse multiple scenarios and assess the average number of requests in the system, as well as the projected cycle time that a request spends in the system for different parameters.
