Vehicle dynamics simulation is widely used in the automotive industry. The usability of each model depends on how well it can replicate the behaviour of the real vehicle. Each simulation model must go through a thorough investigation process- model validation- before use. Accordingly, the research introduces a comprehensive methodological framework for vehicle dynamics model validation using a sophisticated vehicle dynamics measurement system and a machine learning algorithm. The validation process of a two-wheel vehicle model (bicycle model) is presented where the authors’ previously proposed work is exploited as a base and further developed, i.e. by using a Genetic Algorithm (GA) the vehicle parameters (yaw inertia, axle cornering stiffness) are estimated in an automatized fashion.

Nowadays, it is no longer a secret that organizations must be able to accommodate changes to survive the turbulent and stormy changes we are going through. Enterprise architecture is a tool used to guarantee the alignment of strategy, business, and IT. In this study, we focus on giving the organization, through a dynamic model of Enterprise architecture, an adaptive tool to respond to external and internal constraints keeping the alignment and stability of the enterprise during the response to change. With the prospect of allowing autonomic adaptiveness of our EA model, we propose applying an integrated approach based on the well-known loop MAPE-K in the domain of autonomic computing combined with the Control Theory (CT). We use Machine Learning techniques to give the self-learning ability to our model. This defined pattern, inspired from Dynamico and enriched by ML techniques was applied to our theme of study, Enterprise architecture.

Dynamic pricing primitives from the airline and hotel industry have lately shifted to the wider electronic retail industry, however there is still a lack of ready to use frameworks for applying or testing dynamic pricing policies in online e-commerce stores. This has practically generated limitations in the way dynamic pricing can be applied in real-life. This paper introduces a new dynamic pricing model that uses an extended version of the RFM model to calculate a personal price for each product sold online. Moreover, our work introduces an open-source simulation framework that allows testing and validation or different dynamic pricing policies. According to our evaluation, the proposed methodology achieved 54.33% increase in net profits when compared with nine other merchants following a fixed pricing policy and 16.13% increase when compared with the derivative-following pricing strategy. © 2021 ACM.

According to study the maintenance time simulation method based on the maintenance flow block diagram (MFD) model drawn by the maintainability designer in the process of product design and analysis, the composition of maintenance flow block diagram model is analyzed and the maintenance time model based on maintenance flow chart is constructed then the simulation modeling method considering the distribution type of maintenance time is proposed. This paper presents an adaptive online learning framework for systems with uncertain parameters to ensure safety-critical control in non-stationary environments. Our approach consists of two phases. The initial phase is centered on a novel sparse Gaussian process (GP) framework. We first integrate a forgetting factor to refine a variational sparse GP algorithm, thus enhancing its adaptability. Subsequently, the hyperparameters of the Gaussian model are trained with a specially compound kernel, and the Gaussian model’s online inferential capability and computational efficiency are strengthened by updating a solitary inducing point derived from newly samples, in conjunction with the learned hyperparameters. In the second phase, we propose a safety filter based on high order control barrier functions (HOCBFs), synergized with the previously trained learning model. By leveraging the compound kernel from the first phase, we effectively address the inherent limitations of GPs in handling high-dimensional problems for real-time applications. The derived controller ensures a rigorous lower bound on the probability of satisfying the safety specification. Finally, the efficacy of our proposed algorithm is demonstrated through real-time obstacle avoidance experiments executed using both simulation platform and a real-world 7-DOF robot.

This paper presents a new analytical model for a Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) system using perimeter-gated single photon avalanche diodes (SPADs) based flash sensors. We have developed a Monte Carlo simulator to analyze the performance of perimeter-gated SPADs based LiDAR system for low-light scenarios. A perimeter-gated SPAD is an upgraded version of a Single Photon Avalanche Diode (SPAD). It has a third terminal, a gate, to reduce the perimeter edge breakdown without unduly expanding the device's surface area. In addition, dark count rate, breakdown voltage, and dynamic range characteristics are all can be modified by the applied gate voltage. The simulation environment has been designed to precisely simulate the parts of a flash LiDAR system, including the optics, illumination source, and the perimeter-gated SPAD-based CMOS image sensor architecture. Results show that the applied gate voltage of the perimeter-gated SPAD improves the noise performance in the LiDAR system.

Two-dimensions (2D) are a static representation of a single frame or scene mostly used for designing or architecture. However, clients frequently change their design preferences, leading to extensive reworks. This has led to a proposal involving stereo vision, semantic segmentation, and Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) to assist in mapping and creating a three-dimensional (3D) model representation of indoor environments along with associating objects in 3D bounding boxes. This study utilizes the use of Position Adaptive Convolution Network (PAConv) to segment the point cloud into different classes and objects. The process includes scanning of an interior environment, inference of the semantic segmentation model, and 3D reconstruction by utilizing Open3d library. The experimentation in the study determines the accuracy of the stereo camera when it comes to lighting, occlusions, and distance estimation for room scanning. Parameters used include mean squared error (MSE) for identifying the similarity of the depth map from with and without lighting, and for varying distance of different objects with different attributes. Another parameter includes the distance comparison of different objects in 3D space of a scanned interior. Results showed that the stereo camera is capable of accurately representing the depth map of an area, as well as on the distance estimation conducted using SLAM for the PAConv model to detect objects on the point cloud output. As per the result, there are considerations and several improvements needed to be executed in the system.

Signal behavior varies across different environments due to various parameters and factors, including terrain features, clutter, and atmospheric conditions. The international Telecommunication Union-Radio Sector (ITU-R) categorized the globe into different rain regions and provided classifications based on important parameters to understand signal behavior and the impact of atmospheric-based attenuation. In Nigeria, four regions have been designated, with different states categorized under each region. This paper critically analyses Region N (Lagos State) by utilizing the EDX Signal Pro software® to simulate typical Point-to-Point (P2P) links for the 5G communication networks considering the Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) scenario. The objective is to estimate the total and excess losses as well as the flat fading across different frequencies and distances. Our results demonstrate that losses and fading increase with higher frequencies and distances, attributable to the presence of obstacles and the level of rainfall rate in the location.

Due to the limited model capacity, leveraging distributed Neural Radiance Fields (NeRFs) for modeling extensive urban environments has become a necessity. However, current distributed NeRF registration approaches encounter aliasing artifacts, arising from discrepancies in rendering resolutions and suboptimal pose precision. These factors collectively deteriorate the fidelity of pose estimation within NeRF frameworks, resulting in occlusion artifacts during the NeRF blending stage. In this paper, we present a distributed NeRF system with tri-stage pose optimization. In the first stage, precise poses of images are achieved by bundle adjusting Mip-NeRF 360 with a coarse-to-fine strategy. In the second stage, we incorporate the inverting Mip-NeRF 360, coupled with the truncated dynamic low-pass filter, to enable the achievement of robust and precise poses, termed Frame2Model optimization. On top of this, we obtain a coarse transformation between NeRFs in different coordinate systems. In the third stage, we fine-tune the transformation between NeRFs by Model2Model pose optimization. After obtaining precise transformation parameters, we proceed to implement NeRF blending, showcasing superior performance metrics in both real-world and simulation scenarios. Auto-scaling is one of the most important features in Cloud computing. This feature promises cloud computing customers the ability to best adapt the capacity of their systems to the load they are facing while maintaining the Quality of Service (QoS). This adaptation will be done automatically by increasing or decreasing the amount of resources being leveraged against the workload's resource demands. There are two types and several techniques of auto-scaling proposed in the literature. However, regardless the type or technique of auto-scaling used, over-provisioning or under-provisioning problem is often observed. In this paper, we model the auto-scaling mechanism with the Stochastic Well-formed coloured Nets (SWN).
