This study investigates the effects of these immersive technologies on military personnel's training efficacy, efficiency, and safety. Virtual reality (VR) immerses users in artificial surroundings, augmented reality (AR) superimposes digital data on the actual world, and haptics adds tactile input to improve realism. These technologies work together to create training simulations that are incredibly realistic, adaptable, and closely mimic real-world situations. Examples of these scenarios include military operations, emergency response protocols, and technical maintenance jobs. This research emphasizes the advantages of AR, VR, and haptics in military training, including higher information retention, improved skill learning, and enhanced preparation for operational difficulties. It does this by doing a thorough assessment of the available literature and case studies. By eliminating the need for live exercises and giving students practical experience in authentic settings, these immersive technologies provide a secure and affordable substitute for conventional training approaches. Furthermore, employees stationed in remote or inaccessible regions may receive training nearly anytime, anywhere, thanks to the scalability and mobility of AR and VR devices. In the future, this field of study will focus on developing increasingly complex simulation environments and on utilizing advances in machine learning and artificial intelligence to build intelligent and adaptable training systems. Furthermore, haptics, AR, and VR are being widely used by allied agencies and military groups, which has great potential for collaborative training platforms and more equitable access to excellent training materials. Incorporating immersive technology into tactical and technical training signifies a fundamental change in military readiness and education, with far-reaching effects on the 21st-century armed forces' efficacy and adaptability.

ITU-R categorized Nigeria into four rain regions (i.e., M, N, P, and Q) depending on the atmospheric conditions. Previous works that have conducted rain and attenuation modeling and simulations have assumed similar signal propagation behavior and parameters within locations categorized under the same region. This paper aims to explore these assumptions by conducting an extensive radio propagation simulations of point-to-point microwave links with a clear line-of-sight in order to estimate the total path loss (attenuation), excess path loss, and flat fade margins for each of the locations within the M-regions, i.e., Kano, Sokoto, and Adamawa. Results obtained showed that in all the locations, the loss monotonically increases with distance, with Sokoto having the highest level of signal losses and fading, while, Adamawa has the lowest. The deviation for both total loss, excess loss, and flat fading margin was found to be between 15 dB across the region.

Traditional word vector generation model cannot solve the polysemy problem of word representation in Twitter text, so, a method is presented here, firstly, by using Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT), the semantic feature vector of the text can be obtained, and then, the feature vector is inputted into the Softmax classifier to implement the sentiment classification of Twitter text. The experimental datasets are source from passengers' Twitter comments of USA six airlines, the sentiment classification model based on Embeddings from Language Model (ELMo) as the experimental control group. The experimental results indicate that the proposed model is advantage over the experimental control group by using F1-score as the evaluation index. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In this work, we set out to simulate and manage the performance of integrate electric automobiles (PEV) during concurrent charging. Finding a way to regulate the aggregate charging capacity of PEVs in response to highly variable sustainable energy resources is the primary goal of this study. The main presumption is that the grid can send out a universal command signal that allows it to directly regulate PEV charging power in real time. For the combined charging of PEVs, we create a partial differential equation model dependent on the transport-based demand modelling paradigm. We run the model using actual driving data and compare its results with a Monte Carlo simulation framework of PEVs. Then, based on the principles of sliding mode supervision, we construct a robust system-wide regulator to measure output. Regardless of fluctuations in the total number of PEVs on the electrical network, the controller strives to mitigate the real-time disparity among power source and demand. To evaluate how well the controller works, we run simulations based on a real wind power direction.

With the growing adoption of renewable energy, solar photovoltaic (PV) based induction motor drives are gaining popularity. However, extraction of maximum power from solar PV arrays and high-performance control of induction motors poses significant challenges. This paper proposes a three-stage solar powered improved indirect vector controlled induction motor drive for optimal PV power harvesting and superior speed regulation. An incremental conductance (InC) maximum power point tracking algorithm and DC-DC buck converter rapidly extract peak power from the PV array under varying irradiation. A buck-boost converter maintains a steady DC voltage supply to the voltage source inverter (VSI) despite fluctuating PV output. Rotor flux-oriented indirect vector control of the induction motor decouples the torque and flux components in the stator current to achieve fast, accurate speed control similar to DC drives. Detailed modeling and simulation of the overall system is carried out in the MATLAB/Simulink platform. A small-scale experimental prototype is developed to verify the effectiveness of the scheme. The proposed improved controller overcomes the limitations of the conventional solar-powered scalar controlled and direct torque-controlled induction motor drives in terms of slower dynamics, torque pulsations, and limited speed range. This indirect vector control scheme demonstrates precise speed regulation and faster response due to independent flux and torque control in conjunction with maximum utilization of PV power.

For the category of large-scale nonlinear processes that are composed of a set of linked monovariable systems and represented by discrete input-output models with unknown time-varying coefficients, the current study proposes a recursive algorithm of maximum likelihood estimation based on the fuzzy inference technique. This recursive estimator employs a prediction error strategy and a maximum likelihood estimation algorithm to formulate the issue of estimating the parameters of the process under consideration. The established parameter estimation approach is enhanced by the addition of the Mamdani fuzzy inference system. A numerical simulation exemplar is used to verify the efficacy of the generated theoretical results..

Cognitive radio (CR) technology offers a promising solution to address the issue of bandwidth inefficiency. The CR system identifies vacant slots or underutilized channels in a primary user communication system and efficiently allocates them to secondary users, resulting in improved channel utilization. To achieve optimal spectrum utilization with CR, dynamic handling of spectrum sensing, decision-making, sharing, and mobility is essential. Furthermore, CR systems employ spectrum prediction techniques to estimate the availability of future channels for secondary user communication. Among the various spectrum prediction methods, one commonly used in practice is spectrum prediction using a probabilistic assertion during spectrum sensing. This paper introduces a novel spectrum prediction technique that seeks to enhance existing methods, particularly in realistic channel conditions. The proposed method introduces a new type of primary user activity model into the multichannel system, thereby improving the accuracy and effectiveness of spectrum prediction. The performance evaluation of this new concept utilizes Binary Phase Shift Keying signaling within a theoretical CR model. By presenting this innovative spectrum prediction technique, the research contributes to the advancement of CR technology and its practical implementation in real-world scenarios. The results of the evaluation showcase the potential of the proposed method to optimize spectrum utilization and enhance the overall performance of cognitive radio systems.

The theory of global illumination and computer programs based on it allows calculating the light field accurately in an arbitrary three-dimensional lighting scene. However, the output of the visualization of the light field spatial-angular distribution to the display screen in the form of an image is inevitably associated with scaling the luminance and color of the image pixels to the computer display dynamic range. To date, a color appearance model was created in colorimetry. This model allows recalculating the image pixels' color for viewing conditions other than the original ones preserving the image's visual perception. This model is approved by the CIE (international Commission on Illumination) as a standard model under the name CIECAM02. In this paper, the CIECAM02 algorithm model is implemented, and a study of designing a lighting system for lighting a theater stage to create an atmosphere of sunset is carried out. modeling the lighting system is performed in the DIALux evo program, which is the de facto standard of design in lighting engineering. The correspondence of the visualization of the stage lighting to the feeling of sunset is analyzed based on expert assessments. The research allows us to recommend the inclusion of the CIECAM02 model in the algorithms for visualizing the image of three-dimensional lighting scenes. © 2021 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

The introduction of quantum computing has led to an immense increase in performance of various search and encryption algorithms. However the practical realization of quantum computers is 1 a challenging task. Hence quantum algorithms are being modeled on classical platforms. Hardware emulation of quantum computers has been found to be more effective than software simulations. In this paper, Grover's search algorithm has been modeled in the classical platform using both hardware emulation and software simulation approaches. The modified architecture of the field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and the unique data path implemented in this paper results in considerable speed-up and lesser utilization of resources as compared to other existing works. This work includes both simulation and emulation of Grover’s search for 2,3 and 5 qubit systems. The novel emulation approach has led to a 10 4 times reduction in time of search than the corresponding simulation.

Neuromorphic computing uses brain-inspired concepts to accelerate and efficiently execute a wide range of applications, such as mimicking biological circuits, solving NPhard optimization problems and accelerating machine learning at the edge. In particular, neuromorphic architectures to efficiently execute Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs) have gained popularity. SNNs extend artificial neural networks (ANNs) by encoding information in time as either rates or delays between spiking events, shared between neurons via their weighted connections. SNN-based platforms are event-driven, resulting in naturally sparse, noise-tolerant and power-efficient computation. In this tutorial, we present the state-of-the-art in scalable digital and analog spiking neuromorphic system architectures, and discuss current research trends within the neuromorphic architecture field at the system level. We further introduce our SANA-FE tool for simulation of Advanced Neuromorphic Architectures for Fast Exploration, which has been developed as part of a collaboration between the University of Texas at Austin and Sandia National Laboratories. SANA-FE allows for modeling and performance-power prediction of different spiking hardware architectures executing SNN applications to support rapid, early system-level design-space exploration, hardware-aware application development and system architecture co-design. The tutorial includes a hands-on component in which SANA-FE’s capabilities are demonstrated and used to perform system design and application mapping case studies.
