Signal propagation in a particular region differs from another due to differences in atmospheric, climatic and environmental properties, distinct terrain and clutter features. Adequate analysis is essential to understand the radio propagation behavior in a particular region. The ITU-R designated four rain regions, M, N, P, and Q, for Nigeria representing the rain rate distribution and also provided further classifications based on ground conductivity, among other salient parameters. Based on these classifications, this paper utilized the EDX Signal Pro software® to model and simulate a typical Point-to-Point (P2P), Non-Line of Sight (NLOS) link scenarios for 5G networks. The objective was to estimate and compare the total loss, excess loss, and flat fade margins for each rain region in Nigeria. Results obtained from the comparison showed that signals propagating in region N experience the highest level of losses and fading, while, region Q has the least losses and fading.

computermodeling of magnetization behavior of thin ferromagnetic Ising films separated by antiferromagnetic film was carried out. Metropolis 's algorithm was used for the simulation. Finite-dimensional scaling theory has been used. Phase transition temperatures were determined by Binder cummulants. Systems with different number of layers in ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic film have been investigated. Temperatures of phase transitions in ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic films are determined. A phase diagram of the system has been constructed. There are four phases on the phase diagram. Phase for implementation the spintronic devices is defined. The distribution of magnetization and chess magnetization across the layers of the system in different phases has been investigated.

The article is devoted to the description of the process of developing a game application for studying the technology of gas-dynamic action on the melt in a casting mold. The process of developing a simulation model of this technological process is described on the example of a steel ingot. Considerable attention is paid to the stage of evaluating the parameters of the technology implementation, which includes mathematical modeling of the steel ingot solidification process, analysis of temperature fields to determine the sealing time and the rate of controlled gas pressure supply during the solidification of the casting. The information model of the gas-dynamic action technological process on the melt in a casting mold for a steel ingot is presented in the form of a table containing a description of the procedure for carrying out this technological process, the content of the stages and their duration. The procedure for the implementation of the developed simulation model in the form of a computer model - a game “Virtual Foundry” application is described. A universal game pipeline is presented, implemented by means of graphical 3D modeling, taking into account the scenario of the player's interaction with the game environment. The interface of the Virtual Foundry graphic simulator, the game scene and 2D animation frames are presented. The scientific novelty of the technological process of gas-dynamic influence developed information model on the melt in a casting mold, implemented by a computersimulation model in the form of a graphic simulator “Virtual Foundry” is noted.

Autonomous vehicles greatly rely on their perception system for navigation. Semantic segmentation provides a much better understanding of a vehicle's surroundings than object detection. Unfortunately, complete image segmentation comes at a higher computational cost than object detection, which complicates developing a real-time perception system using semantic segmentation. Perception systems contain other bottlenecks too, and are not only limited by their deep learning model. An inherent amount of latency exists in data transfer, specifically through Ethernet. A vehicle's camera feed must be transferred to an edge device for image processing as part of the autonomous driving decision-making process. This study investigates decreasing image transfer time by using various levels of JPEG compression as well as further understanding how compression affects the accuracy of semantic segmentation. Additionally, as most autonomous driving research focuses on urban environments, we look to explore autonomous unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) in the off-road space by using the Rellis-3D dataset. We train and evaluate SwiftNet, a state-of-the-art semantic segmentation model, at different JPEG compression ratios and identify the accuracy. The transfer time of these different compression ratios is tested on three images. Results show a continual decrease in accuracy occurs as the compression ratios increase. When training SwiftNet on the train set with no compression, the highest compression ratio of 16.96 achieves a mean intersection over union (mIoU) score of 67.9% compared to the baseline achieving 78.9% mIoU. There is an increase in the accuracy of the higher compression ratios by training SwiftNet on the corresponding compression ratios;the highest compression ratio reaches 74.9% mIoU. Lastly, we notice a positive transfer speedup of these higher compression ratios when inducing JPEG compression in all transfer scenarios: (a) 1870 images (b) 10 images, (c) 1 image. Each scen

With the development of simulation technology, simulation test has become an important way of assessment and evaluation of weapon equipment. But it is the development need for the enhancement of test credibility to reflect the uncertainties in battlefield environment. By studying the characteristics of the uncertainty of combat activities, this paper puts forward the relationship between the certainty and uncertainty of the combat simulation test, establishes the intelligent simulation framework of complex testing system and its main elements, and analyzes the way to realize the combat uncertainty during simulation testing. It provides a basis for construction of combat simulation test system.

This study summarizes the first stage in the implementation of an agent-based freight modeling system that has a global representation of agents and detailed modeling of a large-scale transportation network. The model is used to evaluate the transportation and energy impacts of goods movement across urban and national scales. The framework is implemented within POLARIS, a C++-based Planning and Operations Language for Agent-based Regional Integrated simulation, which consists of an activity-based modeling (ABM) and dynamic traffic assignment (DTA) system that has robust features for passenger travel. This platform provides a tool to model interactions among consumers, producers, and the transportation system. The main objective of this initial implementation is to implement a freight model within POLARIS following an agent-based paradigm with behavioral and simulation methods. This paper presents the initial framework and illustrates the application of the model. Building upon earlier works, a parcel location assignment algorithm for business establishments in the population is documented, along with a method for estimating establishment production and consumption volumes. In addition to population generation, other features of the model include push-pull supply chains, multimodal path choice, choice of transportation logistics node, and dynamic traffic assignment. A module with e-commerce supply and demand was also developed to analyze the effects of e commerce delivery on last-mile energy use and congestion. (C) 2020 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.
