In this paper, a design of a microwave resonator is introduced for noninvasive blood glucose biomedical sensing. The proposed sensor is constructed from a printed transmission line of 50Ω characteristics impedance. The transmission line is loaded with a meander line of a sweep penny elegance chaos. The structure is splitted into two symmetric parts that are connected to each other through a light dependent resistor (LDR). The to maximize the field fringing through the sample under test, an interdigital capacitor is introduced in parallel to the meander line structure. The proposed sensor is found to provide multiple frequency resonances. However, the authors considered the frequency resonance at 3.46GHz to ensure the effective resonance of the detection with changing the blood glucose level. Therefore, the proposed sensor is fabricated and tested experimentally with 100 patients to realize the effects of varying the blood glucose level up on the proposed sensor transmission loss spectra in terms is of S11 magnitude. The proposed sensor performance is tested and optimized using circuit model theory. Next, the design performance is validated numerically using computer simulation Technology of Micro Wave Studio (CST MWS) commercial software package of finite integral technique algorithm. Finally, the experimental and theoretical results are found in good agreement to each other.

This paper deals with the case of cooperation of energy storage system with renewable sources and distribution network. The photovoltaic power plant was considered in the case study as a renewable energy source. Energy storage system was considered as a general energy system that can be adapted to the needs of the electrical network and therefore it could be considered as a prosumer. Simulink was chosen as the simulation tool, which provided obtaining sufficiently accurate results for the considered 48-hour interval. The results were confronted at the end of paper.

Cycle-accurate microarchitecture simulators are es-sential tools for designers to architect, estimate, optimize, and manufacture new processors that meet specific design expectations. However, conventional simulators based on discrete-event methods often require an exceedingly long time-to-solution for the simulation of applications and architectures at full complexity and scale. Given the excitement around wielding the machine learning (ML) hammer to tackle various architecture problems, there have been attempts to employ ML to perform architecture simulations, such as Ithemal and SimNet. However, the direct application of existing ML approaches to architecture simulation may be even slower due to overwhelming memory traffic and stringent sequential computation logic. This work proposes the first graphics processing unit (GPU)-based microarchitecture simulator that fully unleashes the poten-tial of GPUs to accelerate state-of-the-art ML-based simulators. First, considering the application traces are loaded from central processing unit (CPU) to GPU for simulation, we introduce various designs to reduce the data movement cost between CPUs and GPUs. Second, we propose a parallel simulation paradigm that partitions the application trace into sub-traces to simulate them in parallel with rigorous error analysis and effective error correction mechanisms. Combined, this scalable GPU-based simulator outperforms by orders of magnitude the traditional CPU-based simulators and the state-of-the-art ML-based simulators, i.e., SimNet and Ithemal.

An efficient arc fault simulation device is beneficial to the research on the mechanism and detection technology of arc faults. In order to simulate the arc fault caused by insulation aging, an arc fault simulation device based on closed-loop feedback control was developed. The device consists of two high-voltage carbonization circuits and a test circuit, which are used for pretreating cable specimens and testing the effects of carbonization respectively. In order to improve the success rate of cable carbonization channels formation, arc voltage, arc current-zero period and arc current rise rate are taken as the basis for arc fault judgment. Finally, the characteristics of carbonized arc are analyzed by using time domain and frequency domain analysis methods. The results show that the developed cable carbonization device can generate continuous burning arc and reduce the interference of human factors in the experiment process, which lays a foundation for further research on the formation mechanism of fault arc.

We apply a game theory framework to cyber war in the areas of Cyber Influence Operations (CIOs), Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs), and Traditional Cyber Attacks (TCAs). For greater generalizability, we rely on a set of actor typologies based on posture rather than individual countries. Our findings suggest that cyberwar will remain problematic going forward, especially with respect to APTs and that great powers will be the most likely offenders. They will also be the most stubborn actors when it comes to diminishing cyberwar in general, even when the base game can be transformed into one that favors cooperation over conflict. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2021.

The influence of bias potential on the phase-structural state and hardness of nanolayer multi-period vacuum-arc coatings has been studied using modeling radiation damage during ion bombardment, phase-structural studies, and measurement of microhardness. A significant expansion of the defect formation area was revealed when using layers of multi-element (high-entropy) alloys. For the composition (TiZrAlVNbCr), the depth of defect formation reaches 30% of the total layer thickness (around 14 nm). It was found that for monometallic layers of the TiN/MoN system, the use of a constant potential of −230 V leads to the formation of the phase composition of TiN and γ-Mo2N. The hardness of such a coating is 44 GPa. The use of a high-voltage potential (−1000 V) in a pulsed form allows the formation of TiN and an equilibrium MoN phase, reduces the micro deformation of crystallites, and increases the hardness to 47 GPa. The introduction of layers of high-entropy (TiZrAlVNbCr) alloy nitride into the nanocomposite instead of TiN layers, and thus obtaining a composite (TiZrAlVNbCr)N/MoN, even in a high-voltage pulse mode, leads to stabilization of the nonequilibrium (γ-Mo2N) phase in molybdenum nitride layers. However, the feature of high-entropy alloys associated with low diffusion mobility and high distortion of the crystal lattice makes it possible to achieve the highest hardness of 54 GPa in such a nanocomposite. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Long waiting time to appointment may be a worry for pregnant women, particularly those who need perinatology consultation since it could increase anxiety and, in a worst case scenario, lead to an increase in fetal, infant, and maternal mortality. Treatment costs may also increase since pregnant women with diverse pathologies can develop more severe complications. As a step towards improving this process, we propose a methodological approach to reduce the appointment lead-time in outpatient gynecobstetrics departments. This framework involves combining the Six Sigma method to identify defects in the appointment scheduling process with a discrete-event simulation (DES) to evaluate the potential success of removing such defects in simulation before we resort to changing the real-world healthcare system. To do these, we initially characterize the gynecobstetrics department using a SIPOC diagram. Then, six sigma performance metrics are calculated to evaluate how well the department meets the government target in relation to the appointment lead-time. Afterwards, a cause-and-effect analysis is undertaken to identify potential causes of appointment lead-time variation. These causes are later validated through ANOVA, regression analysis, and DES. Improvement scenarios are next designed and pretested through computer simulation models. Finally, control plans are deployed to maintain the results achieved through the implementation of the DES-Six sigma approach. The aforementioned framework was validated in a public gynecobstetrics outpatient department. The results revealed that mean waiting time decreased from 6.9 days to 4.1 days while variance passed from 2.46 days(2) to 1.53 days(2).

When a large amount of data floods into the network, the traditional routing algorithm of the Network-on-Chip will cause network congestion due to the selection of the same path, which will seriously affect the transmission and real-time performance of the data. Based on that, this paper proposes an efficient adaptive routing algorithm to avoid the situation. In this paper, the binary tree topology was improved. Then this paper uses OPNET simulation software to model the improved routing algorithm in three layers, and performs simulation experiments on the model. The evaluations show that the simulation results of the algorithm meet the expectations, and the algorithm can select the shortest path for the packets flooding into the network, which avoiding network congestion. The end-to-end delay is 48s less than the traditional routing algorithm, and the real-time performance is higher. This research can effectively avoid network congestion when there is a mass of data in the network.

Taking Henan Province as the research object, this paper discusses the temporal and spatial distribution of COVID-19 and its spreading laws and characteristics. Through computer modeling and intelligent fitting, the Moran'I and Moran's I exponential distributions are obtained to describe the global space and local space density. Establish SEIRD model and use simulated annealing algorithm to predict its development trend. At the same time, taking into account the development of the epidemic and the infection rate under different conditions, as well as the local testing capabilities and testing costs, combined with mathematical expectations, design a reasonable virus testing program.

The article discusses the issues of computer modeling of methods for selecting images of objects. It considers a test video sequence with given background and object parameters. The issues of computer simulation of the formation of such a video sequence, as well as the process of selecting an image of an object and measuring its coordinates are discussed.
