Fast and accurate simulation of imaging through atmospheric turbulence is essential for developing turbulence mitigation algorithms. Recognizing the limitations of previous approaches, we introduce a new concept known as the phase-to-space (P2S) transform to significantly speed up the simulation. P2S is built upon three ideas: (1) reformulating the spatially varying convolution as a set of invariant convolutions with basis functions, (2) learning the basis function via the known turbulence statistics models, (3) implementing the P2S transform via a light-weight network that directly converts the phase representation to spatial representation. The new simulator offers 300× – 1000× speed up compared to the mainstream split-step simulators while preserving the essential turbulence statistics.

This article describes a novel technique to study and improve evaporative cooling systems to move heat better. The system uses the GA, CNN, LSTM, and FVM algorithms. Each thermofluid dynamics study approach provides something unique. The CNN approach independently acquires spatial information from raw modeling data to study fluid movement. Temporal linkages in sequential data reveal heat’s movement over space and time via LSTM. GAN adds continuing antagonistic processes to the dataset, strengthening the model. GA adjusts GAN settings to improve data, whereas FVM simulates realistic fluid dynamics to improve heat transport. Ablation studies demonstrate each algorithm’s distinct contributions and importance. Performance comparisons reveal that the recommended framework outperforms others in accuracy, processing time, memory utilization, convergence rate, resilience, and adaptability. Bar charts, line charts, pie charts, and histograms show how the recommended method compares to others. The framework is precise, efficient, and versatile, making it ideal for improving thermo-fluid dynamics models in evaporative cooling systems. Researchers and engineers seeking to improve heat transfer in evaporative cooling systems can utilize it. The proposed architecture is full and adaptable to thermal-fluid utilization issues.

The paper describes a new design of Class E oscillator that can switch between two oscillation frequencies while maintaining high efficiency at both frequencies. The oscillator is designed based on a class E amplifier with an output circuit that satisfies the conditions of class E at two frequencies. The feedback circuit allows the change of capacitor to switch between two operating frequencies. Calculation, modeling and experimental study of the oscillator at frequencies of 4.5 and 5 MHz are presented.

IoT has increased our vulnerability to technological failures and has expanded the available attack surface for our adversaries. We are concerned in this paper to understand how to increase system-level resilience, specifically in smart homes in light of increasing technological heterogeneity and path diversity and the increasing likelihood that security measures will be circumvented. Our approach involves simulating and modeling the interaction of diverse smart home technologies in the context of their relationship to the core internet. We show how technological diversity can be incorporated into system design in ways that can increase resilience. (C) 2020 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

This paper presents the design and assessment of a fabric-based soft pneumatic actuator with low pressurization requirements for actuation making it suitable for upper extremity assistive devices for infants. The goal is to support shoulder abduction and adduction without prohibiting motion in other planes or obstructing elbow joint motion. First, the performance of a family of actuator designs with internal air cells is explored via simulation. The actuators are parameterized by the number of cells and their width. Physically viable actuator variants identified through the simulation are further tested via hardware experiments. Two designs are selected and tested on a custom-built physical model based on an infant’s body anthropometrics. Comparisons between force exerted to lift the arm, movement smoothness, path length and maximum shoulder angle reached inform which design is better suited for its use as an actuator for pediatric wearable assistive devices, along with other insights for future work.

The scenery in nature is in many shapes and forms, and most of which have the characteristics of irregularity. The simulation of irregular scenery can be so complex that it has always been the difficulty and hotspot of computer graphics modeling. This paper focuses on the method of snow scene generation, and the simulation of snow scene is realized on the basis of OpenGL. First, the sky box technology is used to draw distant mountain scenery to Enhance the realism of the scene. Second, based on the principle of particle system, the scene of snowflakes drifting away is drawn. The basic idea is to describe the state of snow particles in terms of a large number of tiny particles. The shape, position, color, and other characteristics of snow particles change over time, and the dynamic change process of snow particles can effectively describe the movement trajectory of snowflakes. Third, the fractal tree is drawn based on L-system to enhance the beauty of snow scenery. On the basis of the central idea of fractal, the target string is generated by using an initial letter and generating rules, and then explain it geometrically to generate graphics. Based above, wind field model is added to study the swinging motion of trees. The whole scene generated in the end has the characteristics of randomness. The movement of snow is close to nature, and the generated fractal tree is vivid.

Cloud modeling and real-time render are of great significance in virtual scene simulation. The lighting model and rendering technology are image synthesis methods, introduced to computer graphics, aiming to simplify virtual scene simulation and enhance the fidelity of complex scenes. Currently, the simulation algorithms applied to cloud scene, inclined to be complicated and computationally intensive. Hence, it is still a key challenge to implement more efficient algorithms to map higher quality three-dimensional clouds. In this paper, a computation-reducing and time-saving method is designed to deal with the above challenge. Technically, the lighting model and rendering technology for the weather research and forecasting (WRF) data are proposed to create the cloud scenes. Then project files are uploaded to the cloud system and directly for real-time rendering at the same time, which can largely save time and reduce the cost of rendering. Finally, adequate experimental analyses are conducted to verify the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed scheme. © 2020, ICST Institute for computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

This paper presents the results of modeling a grating element for input/output of optical radiation into Si 3 N 4 /SiO 2 waveguide structures in the wavelength range from 1.5 to $1.6\ \mu \mathrm{m}$ . The results of the study of the geometric parameters of a diffraction grating on the optical transmission coefficient, in particular: the grating period, undercutting period, etching depth, filling factor, are presented. For a wavelength of $1.55\ \mu \mathrm{m}$ the maximum optical transmission coefficient is observed at: grating period $0.875\ \mu \mathrm{m}$ ; etching depth $0.181\ \mu \mathrm{m}$ ; fill factor of $0.595\ \mu \mathrm{m}$ ; undercutting $\pm 0.015\ \mu \mathrm{m}$ . The greatest contribution to the change in the transmission coefficient is made by the change in the grating period and is $\pm 0.0022\ \mu \mathrm{m}/{\%}$ and the etching depth is $\pm 0.00762\ \mu \mathrm{m}/{\%}$ . Based on the results of simulations, taking into account the operating wavelengths and refractive indices of Si 3 N 4 /SiO 2 films, the following permissible deviations of diffraction lattice parameters were put forward: grating period $\pm 0.022\ \mu \mathrm{m}$ ; etching depth $\pm 0.0762\ \mu \mathrm{m}$ ; filling factor ±20%; undercutting period $\pm 0.14\ \mu \mathrm{m}$ . Permissible insertion angles were 10–12 degrees. The reflection loss at the input of light into the waveguide was −17 dB, and at the output from −20 to −35 dB. Transmission loss at −3dB was $0.09\ \mu \mathrm{m}$ .

Owing to the rapid growth of medical imaging technologies, medical image analysis is entered the period of big data for proper diagnosis of diseases. Intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) means a pathological disorder that requires quick decision making and diagnosis. Computed tomography (CT) can be accurate and extremely dependable diagnosis method for detecting hemorrhages. Automatic recognition of ICH from CT scans by using a computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) method was helpful in detecting and classifying various grades of ICH. Due to the recent development of deep learning (DL) methods in image processing applications, numerous medical imaging approaches use it. This article introduces innovative Big Data Analytics with Deep Learning based Automated Brain Intracranial Haemorrhage Diagnosis and Classification Model (BDDL-IHDCM). The presented BDDL-IHDCM model examines the computed tomography (CT) scans for detecting and classifying ICH. To accomplish this, the presented BDDL-IHDCM model applies bilateral filtering (BF) technique for noise elimination procedure. The BDDL-IHDCM method employs neural architectural search network (NASNet) feature extractor with Bayesian optimization (BO) based hyperparameter tuning. For ICH detection and classification, a grey wolf optimizer (GWO) with auto encoder (AE) model is utilized in this study. To handle big data, Hadoop MapReduce will be used. To exhibit the significant performance of the presented BDDL-IHDCM method, a comprehensive simulation analysis is made by making use of benchmark dataset. The experimental outcomes indicate the betterment of the presented BDDL-IHDCM method to other DL models with maximum accuracy of 96.22%.

The article provides general information on ice melting plants (IMPs) on overhead transmission lines (OHL) 110, 220, 330, 500 kV and the field of their application. The relevance of the multipurpose ice melting plants (MIMPs) for OHLs 110, 220 kV and low-voltage device for melting ice (LIMD) on the wires of OHLs of small length is noted. The main elements of the IMPs, such as a thyristor controlled rectifier bridge (CRB) and an ice melting switch (IMS), are highlighted. The results of computer and physical modeling of operation of a CRB with three types of pulse-phase control systems (CPPS) are described. The shortcomings of these three CPPSs are noted, while the most effective CPPS No. 3 is highlighted. The possibility of the presence of the distortion of significant value of power during deep regulation of the rectified current from a CRB is also emphasized. An innovative system of discrete (relay) control (SCD) by the thyristor arms of a CRB and an IMS is considered, while the operability of the SCD on computer and physical models is shown.
