In this paper, we describe the influence that simulation tools can potentially have on architecture students' design process. In order to understand the simulation usage in the educational context, we first reviewed the previous uses of technological tools in architectural design. In the experiment, students of South Korea performed design tasks guided by either a simulation tool or a studio instructor. The given task also differed by its nature, optimization- vs. concept-driven. As a result, we found that the simulation provided a creative-prone environment to the students and increased their attention to detail.

A 3D scheme-field model of electromagnetic AC and DC energy conversion has been developed for the dynamic short-circuit modes of the combined armature windings of the synchronous machine. It allows taking into account the influence of design features, the effects of self-and mutual induction of the windings, the nonlinearity of the electrophysical and magnetic properties of active and structural materials on electromagnetic processes and the combined armature winding parameters of the synchronous machine. An approach is proposed for determining the DC leakage and mutual inductances of a combined armature winding of the synchronous machine armature. It is based on the decomposition of electromagnetic processes with help combinations of switching phases of the armature windings relative to the external field source by union of the phase windings electrical circuits and the geometric 3D area of the active armature of the synchronous machine. It was proved, that the magnetic coupling between the AC and DC inductive parameters of the armature windings does not exist. The reliability and accuracy of the results of numerical modeling are confirmed by the results of physical tests on a prototype.

This paper presents a concept for the application of behavioral simulations in the context of usage control for cyberphysical systems. The overall goal is to enable a separation of the usage control from a cyber-physical system, in order to handle the heterogeneity of these systems. According to the concept of behavior prediction based on digital twins, a behavior simulation of the system is used to realize a more detailed usage control. A central aspect of this is the provision of simulation data and results as well as enable usage control to control the simulation. To detail the concept, the roles and tasks of usage control and simulation are discussed to develop an architecture of a service to provide required simulation results. The concept is considered here in particular on the basis of cyber-physical systems in form of computer numerical controlled machines and virtual machining for the behavior simulation, but is also applicable to other kinds of simulations and not limited to the use case of an usage control. The detailing of the individual components depends on the type of simulation used and is therefore done specifically for virtual machining. Further the communication with the behavior simulation, the interfaces for the usage control are described. At least to verify the concept, a prototypical implementation of the simulation service and the integration into the usage control for a cyber-physical system is validated.

Theoretical analysis and numerical simulation of GFRP specimens' defects detection using infrared thermal wave testing technology based on linear frequency modulation excitation was carried out in this paper. Based on the theory of heat transfer and material science, the heat transfer model of GFRP specimen was established and analyzed, and the heat transfer process excited by linear frequency modulation excitation heat flow was numerically simulated. Through three-dimensional modeling and finite element analysis, the detection effect of different size defects under experimental conditions was analyzed. By calculating the temperature difference and contrast curve, the influence law of the defect diameter depth ratio on the detection effect was obtained, which can provide a certain reference for the detection test research.
