Part of computerscience disciplines, softwareengineering (SE) is concerned with the software lifecycle and the rigorous methods and processes required for designing, implementing, modifying and maintaining high-quality software systems. Project-based and experiential learning are core to developing SE competencies and skills. Besides technical competencies, soft skills including adaptability, communication, critical thinking and teamwork are required and highly valued by employers. Several aspects affect the success of a project: the student engagement and participation, the team's dynamics and diversity, the mentoring strategy and the peer feedback process. Important aspects of teamwork are achievement of a high-level of cohesiveness between team members, and effective communication. However, we found that these aspects are impacted by deterrents to diversity and inclusion, and are not always achieved. The purpose of this study is to explore instructional models for teaching SE project courses that foster diversity and inclusion in teamwork, and promote engagement.

With the consistent advancement of science and technology, the quality of life for individuals has been continuously enhanced. However, due to their physiological limitations, individuals with disabilities have faced difficulties in obtaining equal level of welfare compared with others during the technological progress. In response to the above challenges, this essay will introduce an accessible music control device, which utilizes gesture recognition technology to help individuals with disabilities to lightly control the music software. The principle of this design is to transmit different gesture information (up, down, left, right, front, back, clock-wise, counterclockwise, and fluctuating) read by the gesture recognition sensor PAJ7620U2 to the Arduino Leonardo core processor through the I2C communication serial port. The software program run by the Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment) software drives the OLED 0.96 display, and then the recognized gestures will be displayed on the OLED 0.96 screen, enabling the tar-get group to use music software for volume adjustment, track switching and other essential functions.

In this paper, I am working on developing an online blueprint course for Usability engineering that could be taken by undergraduate and graduate students. This course would he a good fit for computerscience, computerengineering, softwareengineering, Information Technology, Information Systems and Graphic Design majors. All the aspects of blueprint courses will be explained in great detail, starting off with a definition of a blueprint course all the way through course evaluation and review. The developed course description and objectives will be explained, as well as the selected topics for this course. The course grading criteria and scale will also be demonstrated in the paper. As code is now an inextricable part of science it should be supported by competent softwareengineering, analogously to statistical claims being properly supported by competent statistics. If and when code avoids adequate scrutiny, science becomes unreliable and unverifiable because results - text, data, graphs, images, etc - depend on untrustworthy code. Currently, scientists rarely assure the quality of the code they rely on, and rarely make it accessible for scrutiny. Even when available, scientists rarely provide adequate documentation to understand or use it reliably. This paper proposes and justifies ways to improve science using code: 1. Professional software Engineers can help, particularly in critical fields such as public health, climate change and energy. 2. 'softwareengineering Boards,' analogous to Ethics or Institutional Review Boards, should be instigated and used. 3. The Reproducible Analytic Pipeline (RAP) methodology can be generalized to cover code and softwareengineering methodologies, in a generalization this paper introduces called RAP+. RAP+ (or comparable interventions) could be supported and or even required in journal, conference and funding body policies. The paper's Supplemental Material provides a summary of softwareengineering best practice relevant to scientific research, including further suggestions for RAP+ workflows. While computerscience papers frequently include their associated code repositories, establishing a clear link between papers and their corresponding implementations may be challenging due to the number of code repositories used in research publications. In this paper we describe a lightweight method for effectively identifying bidirectional links between papers and repositories from both LaTeX and PDF sources. We have used our approach to analyze more than 14000 PDF and Latex files in the softwareengineering category of Arxiv, generating a dataset of more than 1400 paper-code implementations and assessing current citation practices on it.

The literature in requirements engineering recognizes the product scoping activity as an important source of risks and fails in bespoke software projects. In order to help address this activity, we designed and implemented an interactive visual instrument that allows providers and customers to jointly define the scope of bespoke software products, particularly, information systems. The instrument was formally evaluated through a qualitative study that involved three projects in Chile and three in Brazil. Real customers and providers took part in these experiences. The evaluation results were highly encouraging, showing the instrument is a serious candidate to help deal with the product scoping challenges. Customers, software providers and also softwareengineering researchers can also take advantage of it, by reusing and adjusting the instrument to their own reality.

In this paper, we present our survey and analysis of multiple aspects of modern game development and provide useful insights for students who want to work on game development. We also present a model of the common components of the game development process as well as the amount of the workload involved. This can help students, who are interested in developing their own games, craft a realistic plan for such projects.
