The use of reconfigurable computervision architecture for imageprocessing tasks is an important and challenging application in real time systems with limited resources. It is an emerging field as new computing architectures are developed, new algorithms are proposed and users define new emerging applications in surveillance. In this paper, a computervision architecture capable of reconfiguring the processing chain of computervision algorithms is summarised. The processing chain consists of multiple computervision tasks, which can be distributed over various computing units. One key characteristic of the designed architecture is graceful degradation, which prevents the system from failure. This system characteristic is achieved by distributing computervision tasks to other nodes and parametrizing each task depending on the specified quality-of-service. Experiments using an object detector applied to a public dataset are presented.

The productivity of electronic components growth and their prices decline creates favorable conditions for the development of imageprocessing systems for industrial production. The food industry is one of the main industries. Production volumes grow along with human population growth. Containers for food industry are made in very large quantities and demand on quality inspection system plays important role. An automated computervision system was developed for the control of PET preparation quality. The implementation of the designed system was presented in this article. The system used for imageprocessing algorithms to inspect the lateral and upper parts of the workpiece. The system is designed according to its operating parameters. Reached throughput is 10,000 workpieces per hour.

Smart living and well aging represent key challenges for our society. The precursor state of adverse outcomes that characterize aging has been recognized from scientific community with the frailty syndrome, determined by the loss of physical and psychological capacities. In this paper we define gait and posture indexes that can be effectively and unobtrusively measured using computervision and RGBD sensors, e.g. the popular MS Kinect. In this study we present preliminary results showing evidence that the proposed approach can pave the way to the design of an automatic and objective tool for detection and early prevention of frailty.
