Medical image visualization, also known as medical image 3D reconstruction technique, is a theory, method and technique which use computer graphics, imageprocessing, computervision and human-computer interaction techniques to reconstruct 3D stereoscopic image from the received 2D medical images (such as MRI, CT, etc.), then display it on-screen and interact with it. Currently, medical image 3D visualization technology is a hot in the medical imageprocessing, and it is of great significance in theory research and clinical applications. This paper mainly introduces the key techniques in the medical image 3D visualization and designs a system of the medical image 3D visualization based on VTK. The system integrates Marching Cubes and Ray Casting visualization algorithm, implements the function of DICOM format of medical images file read, 3D reconstruction and display. The system can be applied to medical diagnosis, medical education and medical research, etc.

The percentage of false alarms caused by spiders in automated surveillance can range from 20-50%. False alarms increase the workload of surveillance personnel validating the alarms and the maintenance labor cost associated with regular cleaning of webs. We propose a novel, cost effective method to detect false alarms triggered by spiders/webs in surveillance camera networks. This is accomplished by building a spider classifier intended to be a part of the surveillance video processing pipeline. The proposed method uses a feature descriptor obtained by early fusion of blur and texture. The approach is sufficiently efficient for real-time processing and yet comparable in performance with more computationally costly approaches like SIFT with bag of visual words aggregation. The proposed method can eliminate 98.5% of false alarms caused by spiders in a data set supplied by an industry partner, with a false positive rate of less than 1%.

In order to meet the requirement of high-compact and hard-real-time outdoor navigation system, to solve the problem of invalid satellite navigation during GPS-denied period, a multi-sensors integrated navigation system is designed in this study. The system is fused with accelerometer, gyroscope, satellite receiver, binocular vision camera and barometer. The Kalman Filter, which is designed for model error estimation, fuses sensors to optimize and correct the inertial navigation error. This system is designed based on programmable SoC ZYNQ7000 which embed dual-core ARM in FPGA. One core is used for imageprocessing and binocular vision navigation, the other is used for strapdown inertial and integrated navigation. Sensors drive control and DMA data transmission are accomplished by FPGA. Finally, an outdoor car test, which ran in high-building urban environment, verified that this integrated navigation system works stably and can be significantly applicable to real engineering project.

In computervision a common problem is the registration of 3D data, which consists in to minimize the sum of squares of the distance between metrical marker correspondences. Commonly used marker correspondences are points, in two or more datasets. The most popular algorithm used to solve this problem is the Iterative Closest Point (ICP) due to its easy implementation and fast convergence. In this paper is introduced a methodology using some features of ICP and a general-use-optimizer like Levenberg-Marquardt. The proposed approach also uses vectors as surface descriptors, and those vectors are used to describe planes, cylinders, and cones, contained in synthetic and real shapes. Additionally in the sphere model is used its center point. Using this information, it is proposed the minimization of an objective function which gives more weight to the part of surface alignment. Experimental results show us that the registration using surface descriptors is more efficient, it can be solved both with fewer iterations and less execution time, than using only points.

The paper deals with the use of high-performance computing systems with the parallel-operation architecture in intelligent medical systems, such as medical robotic systems, based on a computervision system, is an automatic control system with the strict requirements, such as high reliability, accuracy and speed of performance. It shows the basic block-diagram of an automatic control system based on a computervision system. The author considers the possibility of using a reconfigurable computing environment in such systems. The design principles of the reconfigurable computing environment allows to improve a reliability, accuracy and performance of whole system many times. The article contains the brief overview and the theory of the research, demonstrates the use of reconfigurable computing environments for the image preprocessing, namely morphological imageprocessing operations.
