The paper discusses an approach involving digital imageprocessing and embedded system for war simulation by recognition of geometric shape such circles, triangles, rectangles, pentagon, and hexagon with color spectrum to command tank RC via wireless. This approach can be extended to applications such as computer intelligence and robotic vision. The methods involved are color range classification for objects-background separation, internal angle counting for shape recognition, and using of bounding box with extended Java library as openCV. Furthermore, the colors and the shapes of objects are verified by the algorithm to increase the precision rate. We developed a communication between user interface and tank RC by using Arduino boards via radio frequency. As the command which the object is selected as a target, tank RC will moves to reach the target.

Recent progress on photometric stereo extends the technique to deal with general materials and unknown illumination conditions. However, due to the lack of suitable benchmark data with ground truth shapes (normals), quantitative comparison and evaluation is difficult to achieve. In this paper, we first survey and categorize existing methods using a photometric stereo taxonomy emphasizing on non-Lambertian and uncalibrated methods. We then introduce the 'DiLiGenT' photometric stereo image dataset with calibrated Directional Lightings, objects of General reflectance, and 'ground Truth' shapes (normals). Based on our dataset, we quantitatively evaluate state-of-the-art photometric stereo methods for general non-Lambertian materials and unknown lightings to analyze their strengths and limitations.

This paper deals with leaf rot disease detection for betel vine (Piper betel L.) based on imageprocessing algorithm. The measurement of plant features is a fundamental element of plant science research and related applications. The information related to plant features is especially useful for its applications in plant growth modeling, agricultural research and on farm production. Few methods have been applied in leaf rot disease detection for betel vine leaf (Piper Betel L.). Traditional direct measurement methods are generally simple and reliable, but they are time consuming, laborious and cumbersome. In contrast, the proposed vision-based methods are efficient in detecting and observing the exterior disease features. In the present investigation, imageprocessing algorithms are developed to detect leaf rot disease by identifying the color featureof the rotted leaf area. Subsequently, the rotted area was segmented and area of rotted leaf portion was deduced from the observed plant feature data. The results showed a promising performance of this automatic vision-based system in practice with easy validation. This paper describes the steps to achieve an efficient and inexpensive system acceptable to the farmers and agricultural researchers as well for studying leaf rot disease in betel vine leaf. Research on moving vehicle detection based on Video and imageprocessing is a significant research topic in imageprocessing and computervision, and is also a basic and key work in intelligent traffic system field, which directly affects the follow-on object identification and tracking, analysis and understanding of the traffic scene. In this paper detection of moving vehicles has been studied, analyed and summarized the existing moving object detection technology, an moving vehicle detection system is introduced and designed. In the system the improved frame difference method combined with image contrast enhancement and morphological filter is proposed, which can effectively solve the background difference method and frame difference method can not extract the regions of interest effectively, besides, using a connected region labeling method to fill the voids in the middle of the vehicle image, the target area becomed more complete and clear. Using this kind of system can reduce computation, improve identification speed, and receive better robustness and higher recognition effect to recognize vehicles more efficiently. Therefore the research contents and the system design have the practical significance to the research of vehicle detection technology based on the video.

Multi-sensor data fusion between visible sensors and infrared (IR) sensors plays an important role in computervision and pattern recognition. However, the current methods using single feature based correspondence estimators with a rigid or affine transformation are unable to build accurate alignments when scenes are not planar. In this work, we present a non-rigid image registration method for visible color and thermal IR face. We evaluated the performance of the proposed method on a public database, and compared with state-of-the-art methods where our method shows the best alignments in most scenarios.
