With increasing industrialization, everyone is learning about more life-threatening casualties. The recent few years have noticed a tremendous increase in critical conditions, eventually even leading to deaths and instant deaths of workers in sewers and manholes. These death reports and environmental concerns have been increasing at an alarming rate. Sewage gas is a combination of toxic and harmful gases. It mainly houses a vast variety of oxides of Carbon, Nitrogen and Sulphur, Ammonia, Methane which results from all the industrial wastes and household residues. Due to gases being trapped in manholes for prolonged periods, they become toxic and can be fatal if the right precautions aren't taken. Most of the time, light don't shine on these issues, but if they aren't handled, they could result in the occurrence of unfortunate events. Statistics show that there are numerous deaths due to gas poisoning from the toxic gases in these tunnels. Pits connecting to subterranean supply systems are critical to their maintenance because they affect communication networks, water supply networks, gas supply networks, and power networks, among other things. To deal with all these problems affected by these dangerous gases there is a smart IOT system prototype made that has been discussed in the paper. When there is a detection of a hazard gas, the users get notified with the help of actuators/sensors like buzzer, LCD screen through which they can be alerted. Although important for city operations, a hole can be one of the safest and most dangerous assets. © 2023 IEEE.

Depression is a severe mental illness that can lead to negative moods and activities. The traditional clinical approach for diagnosing depression is face-to-face consultation, which is limited by time and space. Virtual Reality (VR), as a novel technology with higher accessibility and lower cost, can serve as an effective digital approach to diagnosing psychological disorders. In VR systems, users are exposed to various experimental scenarios, gaining immersive and interactive experiences. Recent research has demonstrated a relationship between depression and low spatial memory navigation ability (SMNA). Based on these considerations, we propose a VR system to detect one's depression level by measuring spatial memory navigation performances. The system consists of three virtual scenarios with different spatial scales and dimensions. To study the system's effectiveness, a pilot study with eight participants was conducted. The results showed differences in the participants' spatial memory navigation performances in the three scenarios and a correlation between depression level and their spatial memory navigation performances. © 2023 IEEE.

In response to the conflict and restrictions between targets during the multi-target optimization of the ship manufacturing process, it is difficult to reasonably arrange the scheduling plan, and propose a multi-target empire competition algorithm MOICA (Multi-Objective Imperialist Competition Algorithm). The algorithm takes the latest completion time, the total load of the machine and the maximum load of the machine as the optimization goal. Considering the heterogeneity of information between the colonies between the empires, different assimilation and revolutionary strategies for different levels of colonies are designed to adapt to it to adapt to it Search characteristics and improve their search efficiency and effect. Cooperative tracking control for multiple heavy-haul trains can improve the safety and efficiency of heavy-haul railway transportation. However, the false data injection attack for the tracking control system is a serious obstacle, which will lead to imprecise train operation control. To address the issue, a few-shot learning approach for false data injection attack (FDIA) detection for tracking control systems of heavy-haul trains is proposed. First, the physical-cyber model of the tracking control system is established, and the affects of the FDIA on the tracking control system is analyzed. Second, the heavy-haul train anomaly detection simulation model was built by Matlab/Simulink to obtain the dataset for training the GAN model. Third, the Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) method is introduced to augment the anomaly dataset, which can solve the problem of lack of actual operation fault data of heavy trains. Further, the Local Outlier Factor (LOF) algorithm is leveraged to achieve the false data injection attack detection. Simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively increase the anomaly detection accuracy than other supervised methods. © 2023 IEEE.

The human hand helps to perform most of our complex and fine movements because of its complex skeletal-muscular system and rich sensory. At the same time, the complex hand system is one of the reasons why rehabilitation of hand dysfunction after stroke is tricky. Virtual reality-based rehabilitation provides a new approach to hand function rehabilitation by mapping the patient's movements into a rich virtual reality system and providing synergistic stimulation of visual, auditory and haptic senses to improve the patient's motivation for rehabilitation, promote brain function reorganization and accelerate hand function rehabilitation. So the synergistic approach of multiple senses is very important. In this article, we designed a visually synergistic approach to flexible exoskeleton hand control with the aim of increasing the sense of active participation. We built a model of human-machine coupled motion, combined with a target grasping gesture obtained based on a virtual reality scene, and the target gesture is executed in the virtual system while controlling the synchronized motion of the exoskeleton hand. The results show that the motion of the virtual hand predicted by the human-computer coupling model is synchronized with the motion of the exoskeleton hand. © 2023 IEEE.

This article proposes the concept of a platform for the development, accumulation and use of specialised applications - chatbots - that automate functions related to providing information, placing orders and fulfilling orders, and the implementation of multi-stage processes using the capabilities of social networks and messaging programs. This platform is built on the basis of the approach, according to which chatbots are built in several stages. For each of the stages, there are formal models and methods that ensure a high level of automation of work on the creation, development and maintenance of chatbots. Thus, the creation of a chatbot consists in a chain of automated transformations of business processes into transactional systems that allow describing the corresponding state machines, and state machines into formal means of their description in popular messengers. Natural language processing models are used to communicate with the bot and identify user intent. The stages of describing the bot's state machine and the transition to the formal definition of a chatbot in the messenger are demonstrated on a real example. © 2023 IEEE.

Face recognition technology has gained substantial attention due to its diverse applications in security, authentication, and human-computer interaction. In this study, we demonstrate a practical implementation of face recognition using the Raspberry Pi platform with the integration of deep learning. This research delves into the synergy between the Raspberry Pi with camera module, a cost-effective and portable computing platform, and deep learning techniques, aiming to create an efficient and accessible face recognition system in real time. Our approach involves the development of a tailored Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model, fine-tuned to operate seamlessly on the Raspberry Pi's resource-constrained *** rigorous testing, we demonstrate the real-world applicability of our system, achieving high accuracy in face recognition across various scenarios, including challenging lighting conditions, diverse poses, with or without glasses and distance. Furthermore, our research addresses the practical aspects of power consumption and memory utilization, ensuring the suitability of this solution for edge computing environments. This work underscores the potential of Raspberry Pi and deep learning in democratizing face recognition technology, making it accessible for applications such as access control, surveillance, and interactive systems. © 2023 IEEE.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to an exponential increase in the demand for soap, predominantly propelled by the indispensable significance of hand hygiene in effectively curbing the transmission of the virus. Nevertheless, this particular opportunity produces a significant challenge for the soap manufacturing industry to efficiently tackle the escalating soap demand while concurrently maintaining the economically sustainable pricing of soap products through the prevailing soap manufacturing methodologies. The objective of this study is to design and assess an Arduino-driven seamless operation advancement in production (ADSOAP) for low-cost automation systems utilized in soap-cutting and stamping, specifically targeting the needs and limitations of small and medium-scale manufacturers in the Philippines. The ADSOAP automation system leverages cutting-edge Arduino technology, facilitating optimal and precise management of the soap-cutting and stamping procedure. The operational evaluation of the machines within the production line for more than 12 months demonstrates promising outcomes in terms of precision and reliability. Additionally, upon analyzing customer feedback, it was observed that the machine demonstrated a substantial improvement in cutting output, achieving a 400% increase, and stampeding production, achieving a 300% increase, over time. The implementation of this significant enhancement has enabled small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the soap industry to efficiently adapt to the increasing market demand for soap. © 2023 IEEE.

Mechanisms for detecting communication errors are crucial in industrial networks where reliability is a primary requirement. Even if the Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) polynomial generator is given for each transmission protocol, an application designer could choose a specific protocol according to its robustness, or additional error detection mechanisms can be freely added at the application level (e.g., nested CRC). Therefore, a methodology is desired to evaluate the residual error probability of a given protocol, i.e., considering its packet structure and error detection mechanism. Symbolic approaches proposed in the literature are not scalable for usual packet sizes. Monte Carlo simulation can be a valid alternative to inject errors and see what happens. However, the brute force generation of error patterns takes too much simulation time if the channel error probability is very low, as in realistic scenarios. This paper presents a Monte Carlo approach enriched with Importance Sampling, implemented in a tool11https://***/guarinopaolo/residual-error-probability-simulator. The framework takes the packet structure and the error detection mechanism as input, thus being independent of them. Experimental results validate the approach with respect to state-of-the-art approaches and show its effectiveness in exploring protocol alternatives. © 2024 IEEE.
