The growing adoption of bank automation technologies is bringing about a transformational shift in the global financial sector. The banking industry is seeing significant changes in traditional roles and duties due to the growing integration of modern automation techniques such as robotic assistance, artificial intelligence (AI), and process automation by banking institutions. The rise of new job profiles such as AI data scientists, AI analysts, and robotics process automation specialists shows how the nature of work in the banking industry and the entire financial sector seems to be evolving. The increasing need for technical abilities has led to a greater focus on acquiring and developing a workforce with a distinct combination of technology proficiency and domain understanding. This paper investigated the extent to which the adoption of bank automation is a key determinant of the changing nature of work from a banking industry's perspective. Hence, a hypothetical path was developed to answer the following research question: How is adopting automation changing the nature of work in the banking industry? To answer this question, we considered the five largest banking institutions in South Africa. The findings revealed the paramount transformative changes that occur every time automation technologies are implemented.

The main objective of connected vehicles is to significantly improve safety for travel participants and nearby people. Cooperative Driving automation denotes the set of autonomous applications requiring cooperation among connected vehicles, including those with driving automation features engaged. As the operational purpose of the cooperation depends on the application class and the level of driving automation, it follows that the communication strategies and, therefore, the design principles of the human-machine interfaces of participating vehicles must change as well. However, the literature is missing a standardized and coherent strategy for the design and implementation of these interfaces, which may have undesirable impacts on the risk reduction profile of cooperative applications. This paper wants to be a first step in the definition of suitable design principles for such interfaces. We contribute an overview of related solutions providing a selection of relevant works, and we synthesize a set of fundamental human-machine interface design principles for safety-related cooperative applications, hypothesizing an inverse relationship between the level of driving automation and the need for active approaches to maximise the safety of connected vehicles and nearby road users.

Economic growth and the rapid expansion of e-commerce globally are driving the increasing demand for smart warehouses with advanced inventory management systems. The integration of IoT with aerial drone-based inventory mapping has recently emerged as a pivotal development, offering safer and faster access to inventory across various warehouse scales. This study introduces a semi-automated inventory management methodology within warehouse settings, leveraging the synergy of Raspberry Pi, Pixhawk flight controllers, and an array of sensors. The proposed system captures and transmits real-time data using AI and networking technologies, empowering with SOM, warehouse managers to optimize inventory tracking and storage conditions. By recognizing the essential role of human engagement, this study bridges the gap between cutting-edge technology and human expertise, fostering a collaborative and efficient warehouse environment.
